I agree with the AI assessment......the girls (not counting Pia) are not as established in their music styles or even voices. The guys are definitely set with the type of artist they'll be. Love Casey.......not everyone's kind of music.....but he's very good at it!! Loved the Heavy Metal.....takes me back......lol Not a huge fan of the country boy.....something about his on stage presence & what he says that comes across to me as fake.

The judges are shocked with the results but they're causing them. They like & love everybody.....even the mediocre performances. At least Simon told the truth & usually the right people went home. Either they need to start laying it on the line or they'll continue to send home the talented ones as the karaoke people remain (due to age, cuteness, etc.) Not a good way to judge a talent competition. (I believe the girls are doomed......young girls are gonna vote for the guys).

I agree!! I didn't miss Simon during the auditions, but I do miss him now! No one is offering any criticism at all.

After Haley's performance of that Blondie song, which was not good at all imo, J-Lo even said she was so hesitant to say anything negative because she didn't want any more girls to go home. Why??? Because she's a girl, and they are girls so she has to stand up for them despite so-so performances? I'm a girl, and I can tell you right now, those girls need to go.
And the judges need to start being more critical, and not just saying "Great performance" each and every time.

I think of the guys, I'm ready for Jacob and Scotty to go. Stefano too, although he rocked it last night. But my three faves have always been Casey, Paul and James, which is funny because they are all so different.

Idol was so-so last night. I really like most of the boys (not a Stefano fan) and Lauren. But she seems full of herself. And her 40 year old mama imitating her and dressing like her is creepy. Breezy would slap some sense into me if I tried that. Haley is pretty but cannot sing.

Anyway, Farmer's told us today there are totaling Bree's car. We are so bummed about it. Now I have to trade in mine and along with her pay out we will get two new (used) cars. Blech. Times like this I really miss DH.

Other than that we are plugging right along. I want to plant some new birds of paradise and dwarf fruit trees in my back yard. What I mean is, I want Jose my landscaper to do it. Spring is here and it's so nice outside!

PS - Bridget, we stayed PP Conceirge two years ago and loved it. We had a choice of a pool w/patio room on the third floor or standard. The pool room was really nice. And they brought us Mickey Krispie Treat bars our first night. The CM's in the lounge are so sweet and helpful and it's so relaxing in there. Have a great time!

Anyone watch American Idol last night? The guys did great!!! I was so happy to see them sticking to their guns and going with the song choices they wanted. It really is such a unique and diverse group this time around. I love it.
I'm ready for the girls to go home though. In my opinion, they aren't doing as well as the guys. And I have to say, I haven't been a big Stefano fan, but last night he really nailed it! Great job!!

My husband and I were also talking about J-Lo being named People magazines most beautiful woman in the world. Ummm, really? She's pretty, don't get me wrong, but most beautiful in the whole world?? We weren't sure we agreed with that assessment. But congrats to her anyway! lol

I watched AI last night and I voted for Scotty, Casey and James. I think Stefano is going to end up in the bottom 3 again and either him or Paul will get voted off next....just guessing.

I watched Conan last night and Dax Shepherd was on. He was wearing a t-shirt that said "Via La Pia" on it. He said Pia getting voted off was an injustice. That is messed up. She is not my favorite but she is a good singer and better than the other girls IMO.

Just spent the entire day at the children's hospital with Anthony. He went thru the autism clinic.....we kinda figured he wasn't on the spectrum, but figured something was going on with him. We knew he had a lot of anxiety & is being treated for that.....but they also decided that he has Reactive Attachment Disorder.....so now off to go do some reading on it.

Thanx Beth & Kelly!! All I really know at this point is that Reactive Attachment Disorder happens when a child (very young) is exposed to neglect, abuse, drugs, alcohol, etc. They are unable to build appropriate relationships so they either never truly bond with anyone (including their caregivers) or they attach to everybody (including strangers). Anthony is the latter.....he doesn't understand boundaries & hugs & tells people he loves them right after meeting them. More reading & understanding to totally get a clear picture.

Afternoon gals!

I went out and met mom for lunch and we bought our gifts for the baby shower this weekend. It was so fun shopping for a baby again. Gosh it brought back memories that's for sure!! They had a bunch of stuff with monkeys on it which is shelby's FAV thing and I thought man she would die for this stuff LOL. The only thing I was able to get for her was a birthday card with a monkey on it.

As for AI last night I thought that most did ok but I REALLY don't like Haley (never have) and I think She can def go and although I think Stefano has a decent voice he is not my kind of singer and I think he will go soon. I know a lot of people like Paul but he is not my type either so I think he may go soon although he obviously has fans because he has stayed on for awhile. I personally like Lauren and Scotty but then I like Country music and I think they will do well in that area and get contracts. I like Casey but don't know how America will take to what he did last night. I think he is VERY talented but it will be interesting to see how America reacts to his style of music! Tonight is def going to be interesting!

Survivor was interesting last night as well and I am very curious as to what is going to happen with TWO people going to redemption. Don't know how they are going to work that and not sure how much longer Rob can keep things going. I think that guy Grant is a really strong player and might make a power play soon. It is going to get pretty interesting I think once they get rid of all the members of the other team!

Anyway we have swim tonight so I am off to get something figured out for dinner and looking forward to getting through tomorrow so we can get spring break started!!!

I'm super excited. Plus we leave the day before Halloween so Carnival decorates for Halloween and does a costume contest and stuff.

Hey everyone Hope everyone is warmer and drier than I am. I just picked up Jesse from school and it's pouring rain and freezing cold. I just want to crawl into bed in some flannel jammies and bundle up!! Brrrrrrr.......

Yes I did...$349 each! That's cheaper than what the 4 day weekend cruises are going for now.

We actually upgraded to a Spa room so it's really $449 each but the Spa room are so worth it!

Plus I have $100 certificate that I pre-purchased on our last cruise and points on my Carnival credit card so I'm hoping I can knock a few more $100 off the final price.

Survivor was interesting last night as well and I am very curious as to what is going to happen with TWO people going to redemption.
