I heard something very disturbing today. A woman who had a hysterectomy ovaries grew back over the years. She found out she was pregnant with a miracle baby. Now mind you I believe in miracles but I pray God never ever bestow that type of miracle on me.

It sounds like that baby was meant to be.

I have to agree with Laurie! That baby was meant to be. I've heard of this happening before but its very very VERY rare.

My DH had a vasectomy years ago when we were 24 and I wouldn't mind a miracle baby happening in our lives.

 I sure HOPE he doesn't have ME targeted for one of those mirable babies!!!! I had them removed for a REASON!!!

Where did the baby grow? If you have a hysterectomy they remove your uterus.

Was this someone you know personally? I love stories of miracle babies, and I don't mean to sound rude, but that sounds kind of...impossible, anatomically speaking. Growing back ovaries would be a much different process than men being able to father children after a vasectomy. Perhaps this women had her tubes tied, rather than having her ovaries removed?

Oh, and having a hysterectomy refers to the uterus being removed. The ovaries are sometimes also removed, but they are kept in a lot of the time as well. :)

::yes::

It is extrememly unlikely for ovaries to grow back, and a hysterectomy removes the uterus and tubes entirely- no where for an egg to go even if it fertilized.
Perhaps she only had a partial hysterectomy?

My mother had 8 children. When she was in her late 50's she had gall bladder surgery and the Dr asked her when she had her previous surgery. She told him she never had any surgery.
She was born without an appendix and only one ovary.
Pretty good work for someone with only one ovary. Peggie

The person I knew only had her tubes tied not a hysterectomy. I was reading to fast and didn't comprehend.

WHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW, don't DO that to a person! :earseek:

Where did you read that story???? Enquiring minds want to know.

I think I could probably accept ovarian tissue regenerating.....not sure why, but the body is pretty mysterious and think there is still a lot unknown about cells and their abilities. But, to have a total hysterectomy, removing the uterus, ovaries, tubes, cervix.......it just does not seem possible.

I leaning more towards her ovaries weren't ever removed in the first place.

This woman was on TBN christian station. She had a "Full Hysterectomy I kid you not. The doctors could not believe this happend. She could not believe this happend. It could only be explained as a miracle of God.

Believe me I know what a full hysterectomy is,I had one. Not ashamed of it because I went thru pure "hell" after a tubal. Talk about feeling like a totolly different person afterwards.

Anyway this woman did have a "full hysterectomy"-the ovaries grew back-then came the baby. I know it doesn't seem possible, but whatever God's Will it will be done. This was truly a miracle:crazy2: :scared: :scared1:

For some reason I'm having a hard time believing that!

Where did the baby develop? Did it just implant on the abdominal cavity wall and grow kind of free form in her abdomen? Honestly, I still don't believe it is possible, miracle or not.

This must be ovary morning. LOL. This is the second thread about ovaries.
Peggie, I agree, good work for your Mom. I have one ovary and 3 kids...I call it my bionic ovary! LOL

Speaking of miracle pregnancies, my aunt was in remission from cancer, was in chemo-induced menopause, was on birth control to help regulate her hormones and had only had sex with her fiance twice in the previous six months (she had still not been feeling well from radiation/chemo) and found out she was pregrant days before her wedding (when she fainted during her final fitting)! She later lost the baby, but was okay with that since she was afraid her pregnancy was going to take her out of remission.

Weird things do happen.

I understand this being hard to believe. Believe me my jaw hit tht floor when I heard this, but I also know God's Miracles are just that Miracles.

Whatever God's will is it will be done.
