Hi everyone
Please excuse me if there is already a thread for this, or I should be posting elsewhere.
I was just reading something on the refurb pages that AKL DVC units are being built from 5th March 2007 until 2009 - and that guests will see and hear noise from this during the daytime.
Has anyone been there recently? Did u see or hear anything?
What do people think - we are there form 28the July - not sure I'm too impressed with the thought of this - or am I being over anxious??

To be honest i would have thought it would ahve been that bad. If its during the day its likely to be when you are out at parks etc.

Disney Vacation Club recently announced that it will build Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, to be located at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Construction will occur in phases beginning March 5, 2007, with an anticipated completion date of April 30, 2009. Guests will hear and/or see construction staff and equipment inside the resort during this time,
as well as in external areas of the property during the daytime hours.

Somebody i know who is due to stay there in Sept has received a phone call from their tour operator today. They sent a rep to see what it was like and apparently it was so noisy in parts of the building that you couldnt have a conversation over the noise.
She is being given the option of changing hotels with no amendment fee.

I would advise you to contact your tour operator and see whats going on.

I am not going to WDW until Oct/Nov. Was going to stay at this hotel, not too sure now. Anyway I plan on doing some filming to post here (and other sites) to show exactly what the construction is like. I suspect it is hugh!!!

I was also toying with the idea of calling disney direct to ask about the construction works. If I do I will post here.

try and not worry. there is huge amount of construction work going on at Saratogo Springs and you dont hear or see a thing, typical disney. honestly you wouldnt believe there is construction stuff going on.
we didn't anyway and construction was hidden behind screens
