Distilled water for c-pap machine at resorts?

Do the resorts typically carry distilled water? DH needs it (prefers it) in his c-pap machine and we did find it at POFQ this summer. I don't know if that was a fluke or we can expect to find it.

We're flying so it is hard to carry that much water with us. It isn't an emergency if we cannot find it - he can always use regular tap water but it makes his machine harder to clean.

I couldn't find any small containers of distilled water I'd want to pack in my checked luggage either.

Strange- we bought it twice at POFQ last fall. We used it in our coffee maker since the florida tap water is gross. They seemed to have 2-4 big gallon bottles out everytime I looked. Hopefully it was a fluke, and they didn't decide to not carry it anymore.

POFQ certainly had it out in July this year as we got a gallon for the c-pap. My guess is they carry it year round but I was curious if anyone else who uses it for whatever reason generally finds it at the gift shops without a problem.

I also use CPap and have ordered my water from garden grocer when I order water for the parks and other items.

That is a great idea and I'd do it except this is such a short trip we don't really need other groceries so it would be pricey just to get the water!

I have an extra water holder for my CPAP. When I am traveling I will use that instead of the regular one. So the primary always uses distilled water and does not pick up stuff, but the other uses drinking or even (depending one the location) tap water but it is for a few days only.

Yeah, for just a couple of nights, we just use tap broth, then rinse the humidifier chamber with vinegar & water solution when we get home (either that or we bring an old humidifier chamber just for that weekend). Most of our visits are for longer so we have a chance to get to the pharmacy for a gallon of distilled. One time, the concierge at BWV got it for us when we arrived without it.

Good luck!

I asked him if he has an extra one and he doesn't - sounds like a great way to deal with it though

I think this is the back-up plan. Hopefully they will have it at POFQ like they did this summer. Either way no huge deal.

Thanks for the replies!

When my DH travels for work, he packs a thermos with the distilled water in it. A thermos isn't likely to leak in transit.

Just back and they had the water - no problem. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the other great ideas however - we may use them in the future!

I know it is a pain, but I actually did pack my gallon last time I went. If you keep it in a separate medical supplies only bag, you don't have to pay for it. Still a pain to lug, but was worth it for me. I can't STAND not having the water, esp on trips. my allergies go crazy and I end up with bad sinus pain if I don't use it. plus, much cheaper for me to pack it into a separate bag and check it for free, than pay Disney prices on it.

Just another idea to keep in mind. :confused3
