I keep trying to post this ? & it never shows up on the forum. How long does it take to drive from Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom? We will be in AK all day & then need to be to MK, park, ride boat/monorail to be at a 4:45 AR at Cinderella's Royal Table. It's been forever since I have stayed off property & had to drive. Just wondering when I should leave AK.
Thanks for the help. :wave2:

Well I would think you would have to consider allot more things into your equation of how long it takes to just drive there. The distance is only about 8 miles. But you have to consider catching a tram to your car at AK then the drive itself, then getting through the parking terminal at MK, parking, catching at tram to ticket station, catching the monorail or boat, getting through security at MK and then into the park itself. I think you are talking atleast a hour and half to accomplish all this without having to kill yourself rushing.

So since your res is for 4:45 I would leave AK at 3pm just to be on the safe side.

I think GoofyFreek is somewhat overestimating, but that's healthy as most people underestimate the amount of time it takes.

I'd say
walk/tram to your car - 10 min
drive to MK parking - 10 min
park and walk/tram to TTC - 15 min
express monorail or ferry to MK - 15 min incl waiting
enter MK and walk to CRT - 15 min

That's 65 minutes, but I'd leave a healthy margin for error. Make it 90 minutes to be sure, so leave about 3:15. Sometimes you wait longer than you expect, or meet delays, or make errors of judgement (i.e. take the resort monorail instead of the express). Unless you are all speedwalkers, I'd be surprised if you did it in significantly less than one hour.

My experience is that reservations are still accepted if you are 5-10 minutes late, but in fact you are asked to be there 5 minutes early.

Thanks you all. I was thinking about an hour to be safe, but wanted to make sure since it's been so long since I've had to do the drive/park thing.
