How far is BG from SW? Trying to figure out if we should change hotels for our BG part of the trip.

We are staying at the residence inn for DC and SW.

Just over an hour drive, take I-4 west for 62 miles then go north on I-75 for 4 miles and get off at Fowler ave going west, once you get off at Fowler you will see the signs to turn left as you pass by USF on the right.Really easy drive from the attractions area in Orlando.

Just got back from a similar trip. We stayed on the beach (Treasure Bay Hotel and Marina) and drove in to BG. The trip was easy and took about 40 minutes. We thought about staying in Tampa but I wanted to be by the beach so I didn't mind the drive. A few days later we changed hotels and stayed at the Residence Inn at Sea World.. LOVED IT!! Very nice suite and great bfast. The shuttle was free, but we ended up either walking or using the trolly. I am not sure I would have wanted to drive to BG everyday from Orlando, the traffic wasn't bad but it was quite the drive.
Either way, have fun!

We always have a car and just for the fun of it because we've never done it decided to take that free Busch Gardens shuttle from the Orlando area.It was relaxing and different not having to drive, the bus let us off right at the front gate around 11am after boarding it at 9:40.Same on the way back nice easy trip and even with a movie onboard(National Treasure). We went back home to South Florida that same night and it's so much easier a drive from the Orlando area than from Tampa so it worked great.

We went to Busch Gardens twice last week. It was a fairly easy drive from Orlando, just over an hour. We could have taken the free bus from Sea World, but it wouldn't have arrived in time for opening. Also, we weren't sure we would want to stay until closing. Plus, after the first visit my wife and daughter went to the Bon Jovi concert in Tampa, and after the second visit my wife and I went to the Tampa Bay Lightning hockey game. But the bus sounds like a great deal under other circumstances.
