Dissapointing Attraction

Well for me, it's Twister. I've never enjoyed it.

However, with regards to pre-shows such as Shrek, I'd much rather be in the pre-show than still queueing outside in the boiling hot sun.

Never did understand why of all the NICK charactars they settled on Jimmy Neutron for a headliner?
Rocketry.

In Hanna-Barbara, you were shown how Dick Dastardly's ship could be made via computer. He stole Elroy Jetson and departed via rocket. The only way you could chase after him is to join Yogi in his rocket (also made by H/B).

Jimmy Neutron is a perfect fit.

+1 for Twister, Earthquake.
Alot of preshows are pretty boring though after the first few times.

I vote for Twister..don't really care for Poseidon either.

This past trip in April, I sat in on the Sinbad show..my god....if I could only have my 30 minutes of life back! Really lame....
There was one thing I thought was a little graphic, when that witch is set ablaze and her screeching is a little too crazy...

Sorry if I spoiled anything...but go on Dueling Dragons instead!!!!

PS..love the "corniness" of Jaws! :rotfl:

Earthquake and Twister. While I can still tolerate Twister, Earthquake should have been outta there years ago.

A lot of people also compare what used to be in the place of say, Twister.
Very interesting!! Is there a place on the web or can one of the experts here list what attractions replaced what attractions at the Studios? My wife and I were just talking about this upcoming trip with our two girls like it is going to be our first trip to USO/IOA. That is because our one and only trip was before we were married in 1991. The only thing I THINK that is still there that we have seen is Eathquake. Jaws and ET were both closed for refurb when we went back in '91 and of course Back to the Future just closed. I know Mummy replaced Kong and Jimmy Neutron replaced Hanna Barbara but what was where Shrek, Twister, Terminator and MIB are now? I can't remember what else we saw.

-Shrek replaced Alfred Hitchcock: the Art of Making movies
-MIB was a brand new building. Ir replaced emptiness.
-T2 replaced emptiness.
-Twister replaced Ghostbusters
-Herc & Xena replaced Murder She Wrote. Nothing has replaced Herc & Xena.
-the Shrek & Donkey meet & greet replaced Studio 54, which was a prop area. Studio 54 replaced the MCA recording studio.
-Fear Factor replaced Wild, Wild, Wild West Stunt Show

I believe that's all.

A-ha!:thumbsup2

Having an autistic son who isn't the most patient means most pre-shows are over-long.
I agree about Shrek, love the ride but the pre-show is just way too long.

I would say that pre-shows are set to be a certain length, close to the length of the main show for crowd thoroughput, and to make the wait times much lower since your guests are now inside, cutting the waiting time in practically half even though it is just a preshow

Once on Twister, Earthquake and Terminator was enough for me, but my husband loves those attractions :confused3 so I am forced to do them every visit. The Earthquake ride is not too bad, if I could skip the pre-show I don't think I would mind that one too much. Jaws is my favorite movie ever, so I still like the ride.

Nothing new to add. I don't mind a pre-show if the ride is good, but this time Earthquake was my big letdown. I probably won't do Twister again either.

Earthquake is really cool if you get picked to actually participate. I was picked last 3 of 4 times. Otherwise, it's on a par with Jaws and Twister. the Shrek pre-show is the best part if you goof on the cast member going through their monologue.

Back when the horror nights were at US, they used to let you go straight to the ride part of Earthquake, skipping the preshow; it was a lot more fun. The ride was conceived back when US first opened, there was a lot more of a working studio/ show you how movies are made theme to the park.

Poseidon is worth it to me just for the water tunnel and the gorgeous building it's in. I actually like Twister so I'd have to go with Eartquake. The preshow drives me nuts!

ET for me. The whole ride does my head in. My friend will probably make me go on it again this year :sad2: ET creeps me out and the ride is so lame.

Out of Earthquake and Twister, I'd have to say let Earthquake go. Or at the very least give the pre-show a whole new revamp. The pre-show is long and it's good for the first couple of times, but then it just gets boring and you're so bored by the time you sit through the pre-show that you don't enjoy the main attraction so much. Well, that's how I feel about it anyway!

Wonder what they could have in place of Earthquake?

Oops! That's a whole other thread ;)

Mention "Twister" to my 8yo ds and you'll see flames in his eyes. He *hates* that attraction. I have to admit, it was my biggest disappointment too. It would have been MUCH better had it been more real-more powerful wind, more rain, some fog...maybe the stands could rumble and shake...I don't know, but for the line and that awful preshow I was hoping for something a little better.

(for anyone who's never been on twister, when you get to the main stage area, stay right so you can be in the front. Be as close to the front as possible. It's easier to get into the scene when you're closer and not looking over other people's heads.)

Now, Earthquake is cheesy, but (without ruining it) that water effects are pretty cool.

Also, I was pretty entertained by Poseiden (as was my son and my 2 sisters-age 18 and 22). Also pretty cool water effects. Both times we went there was no line either, so that was great.

I love the movie Twister (I probably watched it 10 times) but the ride itself was not well done. They would have been much better off going 3-D with the attraction (much like Spiderman) and having you go through the town as the twister is hitting. How cool would that have been?

Instead we get flying cows:confused3
