Got a call from my travel agent yesterday saying there has been a change to our vacation. They changed the date of our flight to a day later and coming home a day later than planned. I know it's not that big of a deal but I am a bit dissapointed as I liked the flight dates and times better as it would give us a day and half when we got back to relax before heading back to work. Since we already booked vacation time at work I accepted the change I am crossing my fingers that they don't push it back any further or we may not be able to go. This is our first Disney trip ever and it is a surprise for my kids I just want it to go off well for them. Anyways vent over..thanks for listening.

I would say no to the travel agent and get them to keep working...they are working for you, not the other way around. This is your vacation time, and you are paying dearly for a Disney vacation. Can you fly out of other airports? Does that help?

Once you are there you may look at this as a good thing! So many times we are on a vacation and I dont want it to be over or wish for one more day so perhaps it is a gift. I totally understand the idea of relaxing and re-grouping before heading back to work but maybe you can plan ahead and have food frozen, clothes laid out, whatever it is that might help coming back easier...have tons of fun, I am sure you will!

also if you can I would look at flights yourself and if you find something you like better or works with your plans better just have your TA cancel the other ones.

I would do a search for the flights you were originally told you would take and see if they are still available. If they are I would tell the TA you see those flights are available and those are the flights you want!

This is what I would do! It's one thing if the change was a few hours but a day change warrants this request.

I did search for the original flight and it is not available. I will prepare ahead of time for when we get back so I can relax when I get home. We are flying with Transat. I will just take it as it comes...thanks everyone :)

So you have the same duration just beginning a day later than planned?
Unfortunately, airlines have the right to change their schedule and equipment at any time ....they will oblige as best they can to change as suits (free of charge) you but of course, they will not reinstate a particular flight.

:confused3

yep same duration just different dates......I know they can change flights just dissapointed.....also I prebooked my seats but they are unsure if they can accomadate my seat selection as it is a different type of plane so they haven't decided what they are going to do.....Seat selection is a big thing for me because of my son who has autisim....so we just have to wait and see. Just want it to go smoothly

I understand...we put a lot of thought and planning into our flight choices and when things go awry, well it's frustrating.

I hope it all works out for you with your seat selection...
