Disneyworld Marketing Vent (Need advice)

Esmerelda I know how you feel. Last week I got a postcard at my address for a person who has NEVER lived here. We have owned this house for 18 years and the people who owned it before us were original owners and that was not their name. I called Disney also and their answer was basically TOO BAD.

If you incur any charges from your bank as a result of Disney's overcharging you Disney will cover those charges. It happened to me at check out when they double charged my card. I did in fact bounce two checks as a result. I called Disney, then faxed down a copy of the bank statement with the charges listed and a few days later they credited back my card.

I am sorry you can't use your postcard. It really isn't right or fair of them not to honor a card sent to your address.

Thanks Linda, that really makes me feel a lot better. The thing with the postcard is, I'd be okay with it if they would at least let my brother use it. But they told me since the name/address did not fit either of us, neither of us can use it...so that discount code is basically going to waste.

I have found a few good steps to take from the responses here, but I was still a little concerned about my bank making me pay the fee. We'll see...

The EXACT same thing happened to me. Only we have been here 3 years and bought from original owners too. When I called about if they had a postcard under my name and told the guy the situation, the CM asked if it was a Disney Visa offer, too bad their Disney Visa card didn't come to my house!!

EsmeraldaX, Disney is good about covering things that are their fault (esp if you can prove it), I would have your brother make the ressie from your address.... I think it is awful about them having a corrupted Database of guests. NOT Disney-Like, but hey, they are in Penny-Pinch Mode now.....

poochie, they are sent out by Disney through their marketting dept. there is no way to tell who gets one. I have never gotten one, but from what I have seen on some these threads,,,you won't get one if you can use it

I don't think that you are overreacting one bit. They should have accomodated you and given you the discount. I'd call back and ask to speak to someone who could actually help you!

I have gotten postcards on my dd's name , I made the reservation and when they saw the adults names were different they tried to get me out of the deal. I told them she was coming with us and since the postcard was on her name she was entitled to it.
They never gave me a problem after that and they honored it. I don't know how they come out with those postcards and who they send them to.
Just last week I received one on my name but I know this one is as a result of our cruise in 2001, at that time I made the reservation with my maiden and given name in the registration because my passport shows my maiden name and my resident card shows my given name. This card came with both names, maiden and given. They can pick and chose, I can show both ways who I am.
