My wife and I and our 12 year-old son are thinking of going home to WLV during the second week of June 2003. We have been in May a couple of times and late August and late December, but never June. How are the crowds then? What is the weather like? I would prefer going during the off-season but DW does not want to take DS out of school again so soon after our December 2001 trip. :D :) ;)

The crowds are starting to build as the summer goes on. We were there June 7-15 this year. It was hot, humid and rained for a short time several afternoons. Our friends went 2 weeks later and they had heavy rain. Just luck.

With teenagers, I have no problem going in the summer. We have done June, July, and Aug several times. We don't take our kids out of school. I would rather not go at this time with an infant.

We were at WDW from June 12 through 18 and the weather was okay. We had thunderstorms in the afternoon and it poured miserably on our last day but otherwise we didn't mind. Actually, we have planned our first trip home for next June.

The only time we took DS out of school was as a surprise for his 10th birthday six years ago. What better place to spend a birthday than WDW!!

We go to WDW every year at this time, and in fact we'll be at VWL the same time you're there! Why? Because our kids end their school year on Memorial Day weekend, and in Florida, the schools finish up mid-June. The deference is enough to keep the volumes down just enough to make it civilized.

But the best reason....is the salmon at Artist Point! Fresh salmon from the Copper River will be running in late May through June and Disney flies them in and serves them on a cedar plank. It's the best salmon you'll ever taste.

Expect very hot ( close to late August) and a couple of thunderstorms in afternoon to evening; sometimes you can get all day rain. Crowd will be significantly heavier than May or late August but significantly lighter than late December. This year MK was far more crowded than usual that time of year (close to that late December crowd) but am hoping that is a one-off year. Epcot was actually lighter than usual.

Our trip to WDW was pretty saturated this June, but I think that this year was atypical. Every trip we've done before (3)was more like afternoon or evening showers. Crowds weren't too bad, but bigger than I remember from past visits (last time 89)so I wasn't surprised. We had almost no waits, thanks to FastPass and the willingness to return later to crowded attractions.

We took the 3 kids, DD 6, DS 5, DD 3, this year the second week of July to MK and AK. I think they enjoyed AK better but I think they enjoyed the slide at WL even better so I just made ressies for second week of June next year at BCV (HOME #1) just to spend 4 days at SAB and maybe a park one day. I don't care if it's hot or raining cause we'll be in the pool coolin' it or wet anyway:). We're going Sunday the 8th thru Thursday, cheap points :), so if we do go to the parks, hopefully there won't be as many people as a weekend.

We have been three times in the past five years during the second week of June. As above posts have indicated, it does rain quite a bit, but that is just one of those expected things in Florida during that time of year. The parks were crowded, but strategically planning your fast passes makes things seem not too bad. My DH also researched, through books published on Disneyworld, the best days to go to which parks to avoid the biggest crowds. DH and I are both teachers so we almost have to go in June, as he has so many extended days, he starts back in early July.

We went this past June.....I saw many positive things about going during the dates we did (June 6-14). It seemed the summer crowds weren't around yet and the school groups had finished up prior to our arrival. Ride lines were not too long at all. I agree with another poster....the weather had to be atypical. We did have a bit of bad luck with rain. All in all though I would say it's a good time to go.

We were also there in June last year, and we thought it was a reasonably good time to visit for people working around school schedules. The general advice seems to be to go as early in June as you can or as late in August as you can if you want to avoid at least some of the summer crowds. We arrived 6/6 (a Thursday) and stayed through the weekend and the crowds were pretty manageable. I was hoping it wouldn't rain, but it did, and we found it turned out to be a great thing. On our first full day, a Friday, it started raining late afternoon and kept up all evening, and we had a great time.....very short lines and we stuck with our plans to do the E-ride night.....it worked out great! We're going again next year and hoping for rain! :p
