Hoping to go to either Dec. 8-16 or 9-17. Never been in December. How are the crowds and the weather?
Thanks

As a local, I answer this question A L O T. lol The first 2 weeks of Dec are usually less crowded than the later but they are crowded. Usually the Christmas show taping happens in this time frame which will cause a spike in MK attendance and is IMO a pain. lol
The weather is usually nice. Still warm enough for northern folks to swim but not us FL peeps.
You can expect temps in the high 70's to low 80's by day and high 50's to low 60's at night. Can a cold snap happen. Yes and it has the past 20 years I've lived here but it is rare. The past two years in early Dec I've had my AC still on so it can stay toasty. We normally don't cool off until January.

We've been at WDW many Decembers. The crowds have increased over the years but are still quite manageable. The weather can be very variable. We have frozen and sweltered. My favorite recommendation is to check the historical average and max/min temperatures for the dates you are considering and pack one outfit for each extreme.

Early December is decent for crowds, as pp's have said, filming of the xmas parade can make things weird, Double check your park days and AVOID MK on those days IF you planned on doing Main St/entertainment stuff a lot. The filming takes up the entire street and obviously knocks the daytime parade back to 5pm, and cancels most of the castle shows and Move it shake it that day. Outdoor character meet and greets are also effected since they have to be in the parade filming. We have been in the parks on those days, but stuck to eating at CRT and exploring the other areas and since everyone was over at the filming, it wasn't too bad. Your other option would be to do another park on those days.

Weather is good, I find that if it is a bit chilly, it's a "throw on a sweater and you're fine" chilly. Layers are key here! The mornings you'll need a sweater, but then the sun comes out midday and you're hot until it goes down again, gloves might also be a good idea for the evenings, and avoid sandals and your toes will get cold!

Early December is great....as you get closer to Christmas...it gets crowded. Weather is pretty mild. Last year it was warmer, in 70s.

Last time I went in December was fantastic--the crowds weren't too bad, and the weather was pleasant.

Then again, I'm from New England and my "pleasant" is most people's "chilly," heh.

I don't want to sound alarmist but it can be anything. You could see snow (and 2010 was that fall/winter with 6 cold snow storms). You'll probably see 70/80s in the day and 50s/60s at night. It's a great time of year for a later resort break so you can switch to something more suitable for the night temps and grab some jackets (or use the lockers to store them if your a never leave the park type).
