I have a quick question to all of you "pro's" out there in regard to tickets. I am thinking of a 4-5 day trip to Disneyworld in May and then we are going to take our son in December to Disneyland. Here is what I need help with.

What is the best way to buy tickets for these 2 trips. If I buy a parkhopper 8 day ticket at disneyworld I assume I can not just use 4 days there and then use it to "upgrade" for a disneyland ticket.

I have heard that you can use an unused disneyworld ticket at disneyland but I assume that disneyworld tickets will not work if you have used a few days of park hopper tickets.

Does this make sense? I don't think it is possible but I would love to be able to spend say $300 or so dollars for my ticket and $300 for my wife and then be able to use the ticket for both our disneyworld and disneyland trips....

Any good ideas from you Pro's???? Thanks.

You can buy the 8 day PH at WDW with the non-expiring option, then you can use those unused days at DLR. However, this may not be economical, depending on the cost of the non-expiring option. I believe you have to pay for all 8 days as non-expiring (not just the 4 unused days).

ETA: I did the math, see post #3

8 day adult PH at WDW with non-expiring: $441

8 day child PH at WDW with non-expiring: $408

4 day adult PH at WDW: $277
4 day adult PH at DLR: $199 (online)
Adult Total: $476

4 day child PH at WDW: $244
4 day child PH at DLR: $169 (online)
Child Total: $413

Looks like the WDW tickets are the way to go!!!

Yea... 4 or 5 days is not long enough to do WDW! You need to double that! :thumbsup2

:rotfl: I wish.... Only have so much money and so many days off this year and the Disneyland trip is more important to me than the Disneyworld trip. I just have some miles with Delta so I could fly for free and stay offsite for free via my RCI points so would be a pretty cheap trip.....

Can I buy say a 6 day pass and then if there are a couple days left be able use the total spent to credit to a disneyland deluxe 12 month pass? So many ideas floating around in my head....

Any other ideas as to what I should do in regards to buying tickets to both parks in one year????

I have been to Disneyland 6 or 7 times but never to disneyworld. I know it is not enough for 4-5 days but without the little one and just my wife and myself I think it will be fun to see the differences.

If you buy the WDW tickets and use them at DLR, you will NOT be able to upgrade them to an AP. Ticket upgrades have to be done in 14 days of first use.

But if you buy normal tickets for DLR, and during the trip decide to upgrade to an AP, you can definitely do that. You'll just end up paying the cost of the AP, so you'd pay the difference between that and what you paid for the DLR tickets (you don't keep a discount when upgrading to APs at Disneyland).
