Day 3 - Castaway Cay
Woke up around 7:30 a.m. with of course a call from Mickey Mouse. My son was so thrilled the day before with the phone call, I had to do it again. Went to Triton's for Breakfast. (Like the sit down breakfast better than the buffets, not because of food just because I like to be waited on when on vacation). Enjoyed the breakfast very much. I like when they come to your table with a tray of pastries. Loved the muffins.
Off the boat by 9:00 a.m and on to Castaway Cay. THE ISLAND IS SO BEAUTIFUL! Decided to walk to the Family Beach to take in the scenery. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. It is fun the way the photographers take your pictures with different scenery while your walking to the beach. Found a nice spot on the family beach between two plam trees, rented floats and began our day at Castaway Cay as the sun was shining. Me, DH and DS played in the water for a while, and then the clouds rolled in and it downpoured. Everyone went under a gazaboo until the rained stopped. It rained from about 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. While the rain did stop, however, it was very cloudy but no one let the clouds ruin the day. We built sand castles, played in the water, had lunch (good food at Cookies Barbeque), played in the game room (husband and son loved the game room). The game room was fun. They have basketball games, pool tables, huge checkers, etc. While the DH and DS played in game room, I got my hair braided. IT HURTS. THE LITTLE GIRLS WERE ACTUALLY CRYING. Though, after the hair braiding is finished it does look cute. We also relaxed. Just laid on our chairs at times and sipped a tropical drink. (My favorite drink was a BBC. If you like bananas, get this drink, I was addicted, can't taste the alcohol at all and thats what I needed because I am not a big drinker. My husband's favorite drink on the island, Mi Tie). At about 3:00 p.m. the sun came out and was shining. So we did get some sunshine. Left the island at about 3:45 p.m. My husband was suppose to parasail at 11:00 a.m but due to the weather they had cancelled parasailing. However, when we were walking back to the Wonder we noticed parasailing was opened again, so they allowed my husband to parasail. His exact words "IT WAS AWESOME, I NEED TO DO IT AGAIN". While DH parasailed I took DS back to the Mickey Pool and just relaxed. NOTE: WE WERE ACTUALLY ON THIS ISLAND FOR 6 HOURS AND WISH WE COULD HAVE STAYED LONGER. YOU WILL LOVE IT!
Once we returned back to the room, the Captain came over the loud speaker and said he was sorry for the weather on Castaway Cay and that he was thinking of taking us back to Castaway Cay the next day to enjoy the island with more sun. However, after he reviewed the weather reports he found that the weather was going to be worst the next day so he wasn't going to return to Castaway Cay the next day. He said he would fine us great weather for our "Day at Sea" and that he did. MORE ON THAT IN THE DAY 4 REPORT.
Went to see the 6:30 p.m Golden Mickey Show. You walk down the red carpet and the photographers are taking your pictures and interviewing you as if you were a star. The people who are sitting in the theater can actually watch whats happening on the red carpet from screens in the theater. This show was GREAT! We all enjoyed the show. After the show, while waiting to go to dinner, we went to Studio See to play "Walk the Plank". That was fun. They picked fathers and sons out of the audience to be the contestants. The sons had to answer the questions right or the fathers had to walk the plank. Cute game show.
We ate at Parrot Cay on this night. Nice restaurant, good food, and good music. Like the part when you get up and dance around the restaurant. Had alot of fun at this restaurant. Enjoyed also just talking to our tablemates and our waiters. Called it a night after dinner and went back to the room and just relaxed. All that playing at Castaway Cay tired us out!
