Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I have a trip booked 6/22-28 at the Dolphin because of the pool situation. I'm refreshing this thread hourly to see if the pool opens lol. Would love to book at BC/YC but no pool is a dealbreaker.

We are booked in a similar time frame, and I find it sort or absurd that they have not announced a date when the pool will be opening. I am prepared that it may not be for our days, but even for people beyond that (thinking Fourth of July) it is wild to be hanging on waiting...

In their defense, it does say through June, so I would assume 4th of July is okay (unless they extend of course, but they do not have plans do that as of now based on my discussion with them on a call last week).

I’m in the same boat arriving end of June thru early July. My email update on 5/28 said it would be closed for my stay. So I’m not sure if that is just based on my arrival day or entire stay. Also I got an email a day earlier (May 27) that made no mention of pool closure so naturally it made me worried it was delayed when they sent a subsequent update a day later.

We have reservations at the BC for October 26-Nov 1 and received the email regarding the exterior construction and port cochere. Given that it looks like the work is already in progress, we are really hoping that the work is completed by the time we arrive. We booked with a bounce back code so availability at other resorts is very limited... guessing we will need to wait until close to our trip to decide whether to switch resorts to avoid the scaffolding! We were hoping to spend a trip primarily enjoying the resort.
I thought BC timeframe ended in September for all work so I’m surprised you go an email for an October arrival. Unless I’m wrong about BC dates. I thought Beach ended September and Yacht was October. I also find it odd you can get an update on that but pool aside all this other construction came out of nowhere for my reservation. We knew about pool but not the other stuff until last week of May.

Preference would be full balcony, but I'd rather have a better view and a smaller balcony (if that makes sense)

In order of importance
1. View
2. Balcony size
3. Distance from pool and/or Epcot (not a huge factor to us, as we'll have a stroller)
OK lets start with a full balcony. That means you want a 2nd floor room since the 3rd floor has quite a few Juliet balconies because it fit with the resort facade design.

I would go with a wide range of 2nd floor rooms that overlook a quite courtyard with plantings and the Volleyball sand pit, Rooms 2607-2623, 2573-2585. These rooms are all on the Crescent bay side of the resort.

I am not sure what you expect from a Resort View room but there are no full Crescent Bay views or SAB views. Except a very small number of specific rooms; 2567, 2569, 2571 (2569 & 2571 are King bed rooms). These (5) rooms have a partial view of Crescent Bay,

The reopening won’t be announced until the day absolutely everything is completed, double checked & ready for guests the next day. It’s not that absurd. Imagine the complaints if Disney announced a date before June 30th, but things hit a glitch & the work ends up taking til then anyway. Guests knew the pool would be closed, then get excited a date is announced, but then get irate when it is closed as long as originally announced. That would cause more problems than sticking to original announced dates with anything before then an unexpected bonus.

Thanks for the great information, Dave!

Not expecting a lot from the view. Moreso just hoping to do my best to avoid scaffolding outside of our window, but it sounds like that may be impossible as construction is constantly moving around. Is my best bet to keep an eye on this thread and update my requests a week or so before?

Which resort, Yacht or Beach? We were at YC CL last month, I posted about our stay starting here. Some posts with pictures.

Staying at Yacht Club. 1st time visit for us.

At beach club now and hoarding being removed around SAB since early morning 😀
Could you please see if they are replacing the loungers with brand new ones (hopefully higher off the ground) and also, if they will still be having the all adult only hot tub at SAB please?
