Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Sorry if this is a second post you are reading from me but I have to say goodbye to this WONDERFUL BOARD and all you very nice and kind people! I was (no joke) on hold from 8:30 until 1:45 today and when I finally got through (and not hung up on) the 1 BC bedroom Villa was long gone for the 30% off promo but the nice lady looked and offered me a 1 bedroom Villa over at BW plus $248 credit. So I took it and I now need to figure out how to change my banner and start reading up on BW. I just wanted to THANK EVERYONE for all the information you gave me when I asked something and maybe in time we will try staying at the BC again!
....my sister was on at 8AM this morning too, but she only waited a little over an hour and booked a 1BR at OKW...sending a PM your way....

We're in!! I just booked DH & I's summer trip. We'll be at Yacht Club for 11 nights from 6/30-7/11 in a water view room for our 26th Anniversary. We're staying at OKW 6/27-6/30 before switching to Yacht. It'll be our 1st stay at OKW, our 1st split stay, our first vacation of more than 10 days & our 2nd Yacht stay (first was way back in '08). We always stay at BWI but we're excited for the Yacht Club. I'll be scouring this forum & I'm sure I'll have a ton of questions over the next few months. I'm counting the days already!!!

We booked YC for May and July with the AP discount today, but I’m not letting myself be added to the BoG list ‘cause I think it’s jinxing us. I’m only adding dates to the list now once the border reopening is set. ;-)

There were two outdoor heaters set up between the outdoor tables at Beaches and Cream tonight. I took a couple of pictures of them

We also went to three parks today, MK, HS, and Epcot. It is easy when staying at an Epcot resort. :)

Also, a random white box. 🤔

My guess is related to the 5G pole and wiring installation that you see around the grounds in various places, but not sure.

This white box is still sitting in the same place. The box is open at the top and part of the side is down. It looks like a shipping crate. It has some framework on the bottom of the crate that would hold the contents in place.

The outdoor seating looks nice. Has B&C been busy?

We visited WDW over New Years week four years ago, and Facebook just reminded me how astonished I was at the cold that day...it was so cold that Disney was giving out *free* hot chocolate at the BC/YC bus stops. I guess they’ve figured out that investing in some patio heaters will be cheaper in the long run?

Hi Dee,
Not unlike many others, I had to make changes to my upcoming trip. Instead of my daughter joining me in January, my husband is accompanying me February 21-26. Still at the YC. It will be a different trip, but daughter would have quarantine rules in January and I can’t wait until summer, so I’m dragging DH along In February.
I enjoy reading about others trips and plans. {sigh}

Got it!

I'll make the change.

:thumbsup2

Does anyone know why the B&C window is closing? Why would they do this when BC is going to reopen & Ample Hills is permanently closed? It doesn’t make sense to me. Thoughts?

:welcome: to posting on the thread!

Hopefully as the weather gets warmer, the Beach Club opens and guests safely return to Disney, we will see the return of the B&C takeout window, along with many other closed restaurants and amenities.

YC/BC are just really convenient resorts. Can’t go wrong being able to walk to 2 parks. Everything being in one building is nice for those Florida rainstorms. SAB is a great pool, most call it the best on property.

Crescent Lake is a fantastic area to stay at, you’ll be really spoiled. Besides the proximity to Epcot and the Studios there’s a ton of great table service options, between BWI, Swan & Dolphin including some really nice signature dining that hopefully will be open again soon. The Skyliner also gives you access to RIV options for dining as well. And the Boardwalk is a gorgeous area at night.

Probably the biggest con to me would be the weak QS options...if you want a quick bite at the resort you don’t have much to choose from. I like the pool bar best tbh. Also depending on where your room is it could be some kind of trek to the lobby, hallways upon hallways. YC/BC also definitely have some bad room views in Standard View, like the infamous ugly rooftop views, so if that matters to you definitely book another category.

Really great summary!

:thanks:

I just canceled 2 water view rooms at YC for Jan. 10-16 if anyone’s interested.

:welcome: to the thread- thanks for the heads up.

Merry Christmas Eve from Stormalong Bay where it is a balmy 76’!

With all the tips and tricks we have had a lovely stay! The YC feels empty and quite relaxed.

It’s been a totally different trip with no DDP, no EMH and no FP but sometimes different is ok. Mask compliance is high and social distancing in lines is pretty good. The longer your stay, the better you get at standing on the markers in line. The parks have been manageable (saw most of our faves) to busy

We’ve had very good to excellent service everywhere. Dining has been very good as well. We are saddened by the amount of locations (resorts & restaurants) that are still closed....the Boardwalk is a ghost town.

overall, we’ve had a fantastic time and if $$ and time off we’re unlimited WDW would our travel destination of choice for the next year....

That's a lovely picture!

Thanks for checking in with us and sharing your comments during your trip.

Hello all! I haven’t stayed at Yacht Club in a few years and booked a trip for the end of next month with the really great AP room discount. Without trying to dig through a dozen pages, what’s the bus situation like? When we stayed before YC and BC shared buses, but with limited capacity I’m going to take a big guess that they aren’t sharing right now? How’s getting a bus early before park open? I’ve seen those nightmare Pop photos of huge lines and we definitely had to wait longer than usual for a bus at Saratoga in September.

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15

We stayed in room 5227 in November 2019, king bed, one chair, ottoman, two side tables, pull out bed, dresser, big TV, lots of room for clothes, closet with shelf’s, built in iron board, fridge, coffee maker, two sinks, separate shower. Pretty nice. Balcony View of the lake and pool, fireworks view of Epcot and HS. Great room. I would request this again once CL opens up.

Thanks for the description of this room. It sounds amazing.

I booked my first stay at the Yacht Club for next month! It will also be my first time back since COVID. I'll be all vaccinated by then and finally feel safe being around that many people in a leisurely setting and flying. To say I'm excited is an understatement!

This will be my first time at Disney without a dining plan or Club level. Obviously neither thing is happening right now. I'm a bit of a diet Coke addict. What are people's thoughts on the best way to fulfill this addiction these days? Are the mugs worth it? Or is it better to just buy a case somewhere? I won't have a car. To be realistic, when I have had the dining plans I was probably filling the mug 2-3x/day. This will be a 5 day trip. How convenient is filling up at the Yacht club?

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I believe others have given you some good advice on feeding (quenching) your fix.

We are heading back to YC on May 1st thru the 8th. Hopefully with a vaccine and wonderful weather. Thought about poly/ Coronado tower but I just can’t...
I tried. Can’t wait for May for so many reasons.

We'll be at the Yacht Club in March and these pics are helping me look forward to it!

We just returned from a stay at the BCV and YC 10 days ago:

We were in Room 3170 and 3172, Garden-view rooms ~

We ate both dinner and breakfast at the Ale & Compass:

:thanks: so much for the awesome and helpful photos, descriptions and reviews!!!

What was the bedding in your two rooms? 2 queen beds in both? Did either or both have a daybed?

@kimmar067

Thank you for sharing some great pictures of the YC! I absolutely love the new lobby. We haven’t been to the YC (or Disney) since 2018 and I am missing it so much. We are booked at the Beach Club this summer and I cannot wait!

:welcome: back!

When in summer is your trip- I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list, unless you are superstitious...

I booked BC Garden View for Thanksgiving week next year. We are very excited. Thanks to all who updated about the BC Marketplace changing. That was my husband's main gripe about BC and he's super happy about the changes.

Now just crossing my fingers and toes that things look a little more normal next year!

Happy New Year, everyone!

We had YC booked last summer and had to change resorts due to the mess. I was sad and avoided this thread for a bit. Also, my memory is not what it used to be. Since we have a new YC stay booked for next summer (hooray!), I am. trying to get back up to date. All that said. . .

Please forgive me for asking a question that has probably been posted over and over. When was the YC lobby refreshed? The pictures posted above are great and the lobby looks different than what I remember from my last stay.

Both bedrooms had two queen beds. I honestly cannot remember if they had a daybed, but I'm thinking "no". The beds were extremely comfy - so much so that I want to call them directly to ask about the mattress.

Is the Beach Club Resort undergoing renovation or is it just closed because of the Covid shutdown? We are presently booked at Beach Club for end of May, 2021, in a deluxe room. If we wait for Disney to move us, is there a chance we could move to Yacht Club in a deluxe room (do they have deluxe rooms?)? Has anyone stayed in deluxe rooms at both Beach Club and Yacht Club, and how do they compare? Or has anyone been offered an upgrade to a 1 bedroom at at a DVC resort like Bay Lake Tower, Wilderness Lodge, or Riviera?

Just to update, we had booked a deluxe 2 queen room at Beach Club for 8 nights beginning May 26. Due to Beach Club not re-opening until May 30, my TA called to see what our options are. I was expecting to be moved to Yacht Club in a 2 queen room, but she was offered a 2 bedroom lake view villa at Bay Lake Tower which has a king bed in one bedroom and 2 queens in the second bedroom, plus a sofa bed! And 3 bathrooms! After wrapping my head around the fact that we would not be based in the Epcot area this trip and will miss Stormalong Bay, we decided we just couldn’t pass up having this much extra room, extra bathrooms, living room, washer/dryer and full kitchen for the same price as a deluxe single room. I’ve never stayed anywhere but Beach Club, so this will be a new adventure. We‘ve never stayed DVC before and excited to learn more about Bay Lake Tower. Was anyone else offered a significant upgrade because Beach Club will be closed during their reservation and did you call to modify the reservation or did Disney move you?
