Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

So excited to be coming back to Yacht Club in 2 weeks! August 29 till September 2. We were supposed to stay again last year, but then switched to Wilderness Lodge. This will be a non park trip, gonna enjoy the resort and pool and see other things in Orlando after our Universal visit. We are surprising my sister-in-law who will be at Beach Club on their first family Disney trip, can't wait!

What a great first day. There was literally no line going thru TSA in Providence (a first for us). Our flight landed 15 min earlier than originally scheduled, we breezed right onto ME, no waiting and made it to the resort in record time. Then as if it couldn't get better...our room was ready upon arrival and we actually got a nice view...yay!

I would like to make a positive report for Regina at front desk. Which is the best method to communicate it to her manager so that it is placed on her record?

What is your view of? I suppose I should ask first...what category did you book? :groom:

We booked a magical standard view and I assume we have a garden view?

We're facing the villas. It's a corner room - extremely quiet which we're loving. No daybed which is fine by us and we have a French door and window leading to a full deck. Room appears to be a tad smaller but again I'll take this view over the "dumpster" view anytime...lol.

I've been trying to post a pic of our view from my iPhone but can't figure it out!

My Aunt and Uncle checked in to BC CL yesterday and were greeted outside, taken upstairs to check in and were offered a cocktail from the lounge while they were being checked in. :confused3

that is good to hear! I also asked my friend stayed CL at the YC last week and they were greeted in the normal CL fashion as well! Not sure who is passing out wrong info, but I know the CMs on the phone do not always have the correct answers.

Hi all. Staying at BC for the first time in Jan over the marathon weekend. We were convinced to take a water view by our travel agent, but I've heard conflicting arguments for wether it's worth it over say a garden view. Anybody got any experience with this? Does a water view guarantee a decent view of lake, or could it be mainly of the pool. Apologies as I'm sure this has been asked before.

Cheers

It sounds like a great room. We booked a magical standard view and I'm hoping it turns out to be a decent location.

But I don't think that the Beach Club has any dumpster views. The huge flat roof gets in the way ;)

A water view means anything with water in it, could be a pool, could be the lake, could be the canal. Personally, I've never thought it worth it to pay for a view, especially at BC since you aren't guaranteed a full balcony, it might be a Juliette balcony. I've had a parking lot view and loved sitting on my balcony and drinking my evening glass of wine just as much as if I'd paid for a water view.

Hi
We are returning to the Yacht Club next summer. We have a garden view room booked. Last time I requested high floor on the lake side of trhe building and we were upgraded to an amazing lake view. Thinking I won't be that lucky next time. I was thinking of requesting overlooking the wedding gazebo, high floor. Is this a reasonable request?
We were at the very far end of the Yacht Club last time so I'm not really bothered about proximity to the lobby but I would like a nice view. Upgrading is not an option either as the cost for our 15 night stay is well and truly over our budget.
Thanks for any advice.

We made this exact request last year and it was beautiful.
