Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

My apologies for a question that has probably been asked a hundred times...

We have an early arrival. I believe that we can use the pool when we get there due to our magic bands. Can someone confirm this? I assume that we would have to either check-in online or at the desk first?

Thanks, and my apologies again for the more than likely 100th time this question has been asked.
Yes, you can use the pool after you check in. The main pool doesn't open until 9 or 10 am, depending on the time of year. But the quiet pools are open at 7am. :)

It's a good question and really hasn't been repeated a lot!

Yes, you can definitely use your magic band at the pool after you have checked into the resort.

I'm a little foggy about how it works with the online check-in process. If you are eligible for and opt for text to room, when are you considered checked in? 7 am? 11 am? 3 pm? When you get your text with the room number? I am thinking it would be around 7 am on your arrival day, but that is only a guess.

:goodvibes

We will be there 8/20 - 8/27! :)

I am super excited about my first stay at YC CL in October.

When is your trip?

As dansdad indicated, if you don't see a case of water out on the shelf, ask a CM. They usually only put one out at a time.

Hmmm- soda cans... According to the DVC order form I have (July 2015), the Marketplace has 6 packs of Coke and diet Coke for $6.00, plus individual 20 oz bottles of assorted soda including orange and root beer, and 2 liter bottles of sprite, tonic water, gingerale, etc.

Can someone there now or soon check out the availability/price of soda???

:thumbsup2

There are a few options of things to do through the Yacht Club marina. I'm not sure about the status (or age) for using the Sea Racers/watermice, but there are also other boat rental options- fishing, Illuminations cruise, Montauk boat rental. I have some info in Post 5, Resort Amenities on Page 1 of this thread.

I think that I'll play it safe and just stop in at the desk to verify. Thanks for the response :)

Hi,
I'm coming to the Beach club with my family Monday 8/22-8/27 to celebrate my son's 16th birthday. We are staying Club Level and I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas on something special I can do for my son while we are there?

Thanks so much!
Jill

I've never done it, but have read you can order cakes and some other goodies to your room. You could email the BC IPO for more information or other suggestions. I would also definitely tell the Club Level CM's it's his birthday when you check in. Sometimes they're known to spread a little pixie dust. Have a great trip!

If you wanted to rent the small searacer boats- you only need to be 12 yo and at least 5 ft tall. That kinda freaked me out when my DS was able to drive me around.
I'd talk to a club level cm about ordering a cake ahead of time. I've done this before but not at BC. You can even email them before you come. Someone here would be able to help you with that.
Birthdays are so fun to celebrate in Disney!!! Have fun.

Thank you. It's funny I usually stay CL and never seem to think to email them with questions or requests. I will send them an email today.

Ohh maybe an illuminations cruise. Dee, not sure you remember me but used to communicate with you years ago when I think I was going to the BC the first time. We have boys similar aged and live not to far from each other. Hope you and your family are well.
PS not sure why my trip ticker is off, technically challenged here.

Offers to switch resorts due to an oversell issue/renovation work:***

Guests will not be left homeless. If I arrived at the resort and was told I had to move to another resort- unlikely, but I am sure it has happened before- I would make sure that my family's inconvenience was recognized.

I hope that if not enough people take Disney up on the offer to switch resorts that guests are notified IN ADVANCE of arrival of the likelihood of being moved.

::yes::

This is where you sleep when they oversell Plop Century:

The good news is that it's a REALLY short walk to the smoking area if you are a smoker... ; )

Weird question of the day....are there public bathrooms in the lobby of the BC Villas?

You could order something from Disney Floral & gifts. They have all kinds of packages like Star Wars or Pirates or you can use their custom builder to pick exactly what you want, which is sometimes cheaper. Also, if you don't want to have buy a basket or container (website says you have to pick one first on custom builder) call them & you can just order what you want & not the container or basket. I've done that most times because I have no use for the containers & baskets & found them a waste of money.
