Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

We are one week out from our BC stay and last night I was able to call and add a park day since now we have decided to go to a park for dinner on the day we arrive, usually we simply have a pool day. I thought we had to wait until we were there to add a day to our park hopper! Super easy! Made fastpasses and had our pic of times for everything!! So 1/2 a stormalong bay day and half a park day! Keeping fingers crossed the weather cooperates with our plans!! LoL! Now I have to get serious about packing!!

Based on personal experience, I suggest calling (407) 934-7000 for placing your YC room requests, and also, perhaps, your notation of special celebration added to your record. The CM at this contact number will gladly take your room requests, though I don't believe they can actually bring up your reservation in the system. I have had 100% success with my room requests using this phone number, which can be called no more than nine days before check-in. I believe the phone contact for the Poly is (407) 824-2000, though I've never personally tried it, myself.

Hope this works for you. Good luck and "Happy Anniversary."

Thank you! This was mostly great but interesting. After being treated *very* coldly twice by 1-407-W-Disney when I called to verify my room requests, I got further here. I am beginning to get irritated by how quickly the "Have a magical day" changes when you say the apparent swear word(s) "TRAVEL AGENT." I've been using one for 3 trips now, and I'm astounded by how quickly the CMs demeanor changes. (This is on the main 1-407 W Disney line) On 2 occasions, the CM I spoke to would not even pull up our reservation, saying there's nothing that can be done because a TA booked for us. I went on to tell the 2nd CM that this treatment is unacceptable, and her voice got even colder, saying this was most assuredly not Disney's issue and had everything to do with me booking through a travel agent. Strangely, after both calls, I was not offered a survey to take.

ANYWAY....
I called the numbers above and got somewhere but with different results. Dee, I thought you might be interested in this. When I called the Yacht Club number, the CM was able to add (in great detail) information about my anniversary, but when I tried to add a room request, she told me the only requests I could make are "Parking Lot View" or "Convention Center View." Hmmmm...
Whereas...
When I called the Polynesian number, she was unable to add any information about my anniversary, but was able to add incredibly specific (and multiple) room requests in my words.

Hmmm....just an FYI.

So glad that all-in-all, you experienced the same superior customer service that I have had, calling in to the alternate phone numbers. Though the one CM was not able to add your celebration to your record, of course you can mention your anniversary when checking in to the Poly.

Your comments about calling in to the 1-407 W Disney line seem all too familiar. The CMs there have their job performance reviewed, including their sales - they really are salespersons. Their time is spent more productively with new bookings or upselling.

I first was told to call one of the alternate phone numbers by a CM, but I don't remember from where; I am so glad that they made the suggestion!

Have a great (and magical :D ) trip.

That's me finished work for the holidays. Building work is complete on the house (although I don't like the color of the feature wall, but it will have to wait now) the leather sofa is back from storage after being re-stuffed (so pleased they were able to keep it until I had space to get it back). I've just tried on every dress I possess and have decided on 3 to pack. (Who needs dresses for Florida). Now I need a large glass of wine.

I just read the first page, any new updates on completion of the BCV refurb? On schedule?

I have not had any recent reports on the progress of the villa renovation.

Anyone who is staying at BCV now, or soon, can you let us know where they are working?

:thumbsup2

One thing that I've never had to worry about...I now have to ask about. Ah the joys of getting old! :sad2:

Long story short...I'm having some major heel pain that has decided to flare up this week, and there's really not time for any sort of appointment before we get to WDW. What's helping immensely, is rolling my foot on a frozen water bottle. Do the fridges at YC/BC have a freezer compartment that would keep the bottle frozen?

Only when they are malfunctioning.

I wonder if you could ask Bell Services to keep a few on ice for you. Not terribly convenient and probably expensive with tipping, but it might work and you could grab one as you come into the resort and are headed for your room.

All packed, dropped off my fur baby at the vets for boarding :sad1:, ordering some take out for dinner :), and hoping we get to bed early as we have a very early flight out tomorrow! Can't believe only one more sleep and we'll be "home". Here's to hoping my requests go through and we don't end up with the amazing "dumpster" view :upsidedow.

So excited....Beach Club here we come!!!

Have so much fun! We've been lucky at YC/BC with our SVs.....hopefully that trend carries on!
We'll be there (well, at Poly) on Sunday!
Eeeeeeeee!
Watching my favorite, "Peter Pan," as we speak! :tinker:

Thanks Scott...safe travels to you and rest that foot as much as you can before you arrive!!

I've seen cases of water in photos of the BC Marketplace, but do they also carry cases of soda in cans? Are cases of water usually available? The photo I saw, showed only one case.

Thanks!

Awesome!! Good luck on the room and have a fabulous time!

We check-in to BC a week from today after 4 days at GF!

Hi,
I'm coming to the Beach club with my family Monday 8/22-8/27 to celebrate my son's 16th birthday. We are staying Club Level and I'm wondering if anybody has any ideas on something special I can do for my son while we are there?

Thanks so much!
Jill

Don't know how well it would work, but could you get a small mason jar with lid, fill with ice from the ice machine, and use it? Or buy one of those massage balls, put it in a ziploc, and place in the ice bucket to get it icy cold. Sorry if not great ideas, but that's what came to mind. Good luck- hope the heel is well soon!
ETA, you could just place the water bottle in the ice for a while until good and cold too!

does anyone have a copy of the recreation calendar from last year labor day? i am curious what they did then and i can't find it anywhere

Forgot to give you a :welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for September. BC, YC or BCV?

:cool1:

We are booked to stay at BCV in 1 bedroom Villa (direct with Disney) in September. Is it possible to get a full size crib or am I better off getting one from an off site company? We would like to request a quiet room, which view would be best for this? Do all villas have balcony's? I know some of the rooms at BC have those Juliette balcony's so not sure if BCV is the same. And lastly, at the villas, are you able to order room service? Thanks!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1 of this thread.

I believe your questions were answered in a previous post.

:goodvibes

Just booked Beach Club for our winter vacation from Dec 10 - 16. Kind of odd though it had much lower discount than either Yacht club or Boardwalk? Also odd the first night (a Saturday night) was far cheaper than the rest of the week (sun-Thurs nights). Does that seem odd to anyone else? I would think a sat night would be higher than the others. Is something going on there during the later part of that week?

Either way we are pretty psyched to be staying at BC. Been to Yacht and BW before and now I will have stayed at all 3. :thumbsup2

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list!

:woohoo:

Just paid in full our trip for next month for food and wine!! Airlines tickets are done as well!!! I hope the YC CL is worth it as I have a great deal, but am still on the fence about it.

I am super excited about my first stay at YC CL in October.

::yes::

When is your trip?

As dansdad indicated, if you don't see a case of water out on the shelf, ask a CM. They usually only put one out at a time.

Hmmm- soda cans... According to the DVC order form I have (July 2015), the Marketplace has 6 packs of Coke and diet Coke for $6.00, plus individual 20 oz bottles of assorted soda including orange and root beer, and 2 liter bottles of sprite, tonic water, gingerale, etc.

Can someone there now or soon check out the availability/price of soda???

:thumbsup2

There are a few options of things to do through the Yacht Club marina. I'm not sure about the status (or age) for using the Sea Racers/watermice, but there are also other boat rental options- fishing, Illuminations cruise, Montauk boat rental. I have some info in Post 5, Resort Amenities on Page 1 of this thread.

:boat:

My apologies for a question that has probably been asked a hundred times...

We have an early arrival. I believe that we can use the pool when we get there due to our magic bands. Can someone confirm this? I assume that we would have to either check-in online or at the desk first?

Thanks, and my apologies again for the more than likely 100th time this question has been asked.
