I was reading on the main page about the fishing changes and noticed it said that the rope fences now have netting on them. Can anyone confirm this? Here is a copy and past of what it said:


After the deadly alligator attack earlier this month, Walt Disney World is making more changes aimed at keeping guests safe. There is no longer any fishing allowed on property unless it is part of an official excursion.

The “No fishing” signs have been put up in places that were typically popular fishing locations, including Saratoga Springs, Fort Wilderness, and Old Key West.

Fences were previously erected along the resort beaches; netting has now been added to those fences.

As previously reported, the beaches will open one hour after sunrise and close one hour before sunset; they will still be open for fireworks viewing. They will be staffed by hotel employees.

There have also been signs erected on the beaches stating to beware of alligators and snakes and if seen, not to feed the wildlife.

Yes Netting has been put in place. I have seen pictures of it at the GF and at the Poly. Since the fences were the same, I believe the addition of the netting is also the same

So I have been desperately missing the BC since we got back at the beginning of the month and Monday I found a candle that smells JUST like the lobby and of course had to order it right away! Well its came today and I have to say the smell is point on! Now I'm sitting in my office as it burns... If I close my eyes really tight... Its like I'm HOME!!!

We will be at Yacht Club in 28 days!!! After changing my early morning flight on 7/28 to an evening flight on 7/27 I needed a home. I booked the Hyatt, BUT I can't imagine NOT waking up in Disney. So we have 2 rooms (hopefully connecting but if not it's okay) at YC GV on 7/27, then in the morning we will drop our bags at bell services at BWI, hit the Innkeepers Club for breakfast and come back and do some SAB swimming!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!

It's from Anthology Candles and the scent is called Beach Club. It's amazing!

Netting is good. It was commented on the Dis Podcast this week that the rope fencing would be a child magnet and that parents would be irresponsible and let children swing on it.

Not liking the netting to be honest. I could live with the ropes but this might just push it over the edge. Would love to see a shot of our Beach from anyone there now.

And lastly, people often ask where the standard/garden/water view rooms are located. I was able to get pictures of the map they had at the front desk. The 'Floor' titles are added by me.

I'll second all the "WOWZA" comments! Nicely done! I also wish they had one for YC, but I think we can safely assume that it's similar, just in reverse.

Ah yes. Another one that's similar...not dead-on, but gives the essence is "A Summer's Wish" from Yankee Candle, and one that doesn't really compare directly, but gives the feeling of the entire Epcot Loop is called "Beach Cabana" at Bath and Bodyworks.

I have that candle! I love it!!! I also have their Splash Mountain, Main Street Bakery and Soarin - so amazing!! We are burning the Beach Club now, to help us get through the days. 65 days until we arrive!!

What does Splash Mountain smell of? The only smell I recall is over-chlorinated water!

Disney ride water! lol I love the smell of the water rides in Disney! It is actually a really nice smelling candle!
