Yacht & Beach Club Holding “Countdown to Midnight”, New Year’s Eve Event Including Adventurer’s Club Reunion

Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resort is holding a new special event to celebrate New Year’s Eve 2015, one that includes an Adventurer’s Club reunion.

“Countdown to Midnight” includes “live music, comedy acts, and great food” according to Disney. There will even be a reunion of the long-shuttered Adventurer’s Club of Pleasure Island fame at the event, along with a dance area dedicated to music on vinyl, and much more.

Details are scarce so far, but the event is available only to guests with a resort reservation and the price per person is $300 (includes tax and gratuity). The event takes place between 8PM and 1AM starting on December 31st, 2015.

Wow, hefty price, but I can think of many that would LOVE to do this! :)

Would you guys rather have a lagoon/water view or standard club level at the Yacht club? Orbitz discount would make the CL room a little bit cheaper than the Lagoon/water view. Typing it out I feel like the obvious answer is CL, but with the refurb going on...I'm nervous! Its a three day trip...in March. Maybe the new CL lounge will be done by then?
CL for sure!

1) A majority (like 75-80%) of BC CL rooms have full balconies, but not all.
2) Don't know. I know there are a couple of CL rooms at the YC near the Convention Center that have really bad views. Some of the BC SV rooms overlook rooftops and some face the parking lot. Personally, I don't think those views are terrible and when we stayed in one, we could actually see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our room.

If you have not checked out the Beach Club Room View and Yacht Club Room View threads on the Resort Community subforum, take a look at some of the sample views available at the two resorts.

:goodvibes:

Thank you!!!
After going back and forth and back and forth between Poly and Yacht/Club we are going with the latter. It's in our hearts and we've had such great experiences at the YC/BC we're afraid to be disappointed somewhere else!

Funny that your post should be right here, because I came on this thread to say virtually the same thing!

In Sept '14 we stayed at BC and loved it! We are now planning a Sept '16 visit and at first we were looking at some other resorts: CBR (lots less money) and BWI and CR (for something "different"). We found ourselves comparing each to BC and BC kept coming out ahead. We pictured ourselves at another resort and regretting not going back to BC. I could even hear DH saying to me during a stay at a different resort, "... tell me again why we didn't book BC?" I felt like I was FORCING myself to try another resort! My heart was with BC!

Well.... then I realized the BC refurb is complete! I looked at pix of the new rooms. Yay! It will be like staying at a "different" resort BUT being at BC... win/win!!!

I'm super excited bc we loved the old rooms at BC-- didn't even realize they were at the very end of their duration for that remodel (the recent refurb began the month after our stay) In Sept '16 the rooms will be much "younger" and I am sure we will love them!

I am so excited! We're booked at BCV 1 bedroom october 23 - 28! We will be at BLT 7 nights before we move to BCV. So happy to try a monorail resort and an EPCOT resort!

We're doing the same split in June, but with BCV before BLT. Best of both worlds!

How funny is that, great minds think alike! :) I was a little tempted because we have stayed at Contemporary our first time with our son and we liked that location too. Plus this trip I want to go back to California grill and check out the fireworks from the Poly beach. My husband grew up always wanting to stay at the Poly, but our gut and hearts tell us to go back to the YC/BC. Our son loves the sand bottomed pool and even though we've shown him videos of other resorts he keeps asking to go back to YC/BC :) At least we know what to expect and I know we won't be disappointed. Have a great time!!

Update directly from YC. When I added our room requests to the reservation (crib, king, high floor) I was told to call YC directly to ask for the crib. I called this am and spoke to, I believe, the actual room assignor. She said that WDW is getting rid of actual cribs and will soon be pack and plays only which are first come, first serve and she said to request at check in.
What # did you call? Thanks!

We just missed them then My daughter and I stopped in Monday looking for them and then I had breakfast there with my boys on Tuesday. When do they come down? My husband and I are staying there Jan 3rd to 5th. is this too late? We are staying at POFQ starting on the 29th will they be up then?

:welcome: to the thread.

:cool1:

Which resort are you staying at in early Jan?

Good question about decorations- who know when they come down from the resorts?

:santa:

I am very excited that we have booked our first stay at BC May 24th-30th. We are most looking forward to afternoons at SAB, and using our hoppers to spend evenings in Epcot. I got a great "Magical" deal which was less than what POR would have been even with a discount. I have been reading through this very informative thread, and I'm anxious to learn as much as I can about the BC before our stay.

We are a family of 5. Will we be sure to get a room with a day bed, or will I need to request a cot? Also, we have booked a standard room and have requested a full balcony and an upper floor. Are there any other requests that I should be making? I am interested in the area of BC with the "secret" exit close to Epcot.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:woohoo:

If you a party of 5 (all over age 3), then you have to be given a room that will sleep all of you. In most cases, that means you will have priority for a room with a daybed. If for some reason all of the daybed rooms are occupied when you check in, you will get a room with a rollaway cot.

We recommend limiting the number of requests you make so that it is more likely you will get the room features most important to you. I think either "Full balcony, upper floor" or "Full balcony, upper floor, wing closest to EPCOT, if possible" would be a couple of possible requests.

:goodvibes:

Though I have reserved twice for standard view and been placed on the first floor as an upgrade. Once with gazebo view and once facing the water.

I'm not sure if you have posted here before so I wanted to make sure to give you an official

:welcome:

Hi we are looking to go back to BC the week of Labor Day since we got a great deal. I know that it rains a lot in Sept. What can we expect? Is it usually quick down pours or does it rain all day ? We usually go in Oct and love that weather but thinking we might take advantage of the lower crowds this time. Thanks

:welcome: back!

Let us know when you book your trip.

We have been to Disney in June, July, mid and late August. The amount of rain we have had has varied from trip to trip.

Mid August 2004- afternoon t-storms
August 2008- Tropical Storm Faye- don't ask!
mid Aug 2014- two days- only rained while on Magical Express
late Aug 2015- three days- Sat: evening t-showers, Sun: mid afternoon shower, about an hour, Monday: evening showers

I see you upgraded to CL. I think that is a great move. I would think the lounge will be done by March if the rooms start by the beginning of the new year.

Morning ALL!

Does anyone know if YC/BC is accepting Apple pay yet?

I haven't heard. Not sure if that is a priority for Disney with the use of Magic bands. Anyone know???

:cool2:

I just booked our trip to the Beach Club for August 16-24 and I'm super excited!!

I am 10 days away from checking in!! If I get an upgrade would that appear on my reservation on the website, or do I find out when I get there? Can you tell I hoping for an upgrade (we have a std view CL).

I've experienced some upgrades over the past few years at Disney and it never showed up on my account in advance. Even at check-in (at BWI & AKL) no one even told us about the upgrade, we just were surmised when we got to our room.

I have read on the Dis that some people have seen downgrades show up on their account with no explanation, but I can't remember if I heard of the same thing happening for upgrades.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! I'm feeling very thankful for all of you. You have helped me through a really rough few months and I can't thank you enough. Today I'm off to the movies to see Creed and then I'm fixing some ribs and potatoes ... just for myself. Next year I'll be in our new home with Jeanne and Princess Lily and it will be back to turkey and all the fixins!!

We are staying at Beach Club. We will have to go over a few days early to see the decorations.
