Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Not sure whether I'm allowed to ask these questions or not, so please feel free to remove this post if not. What type of discount are we talking about here--potentially a better deal than just booking a bounce back? Did you have a good experience going this route before? I'm trying to figure out how on earth to find a way to manage to have another trip in the works after our November trip comes and goes :) Last year we booked a bounce back and it helped defray my Disney blues...

I can't remember the exact numbers for all the rooms, but I was quoted $1669 for a week at the Poly with a SV room. BC SV was 1509, I think. I have the CL quotes, too. I can provide those, too, when I get to my desk top.

That would be awesome, thank you so much!! :)

We have reservations on a bounceback offer with Free Dining for 8/26/16 - 9/1-16. I wonder if changing it is worthwhile? Might be worth a look. I recieved the email as well this morning... Thanks so much for the information.

I sent you a message...

So, our flight ended up being cancelled bc the plane couldn't be immediately repaired. Unfortunately it was the only flight into Trenton today so we had to rebook flying into Philly. We then needed to get a car to drive us home and then get our cars at the Trenton airport. It was such a hassle and Frontier was very little help. They will reimburse our flight, but we had to leave the gate to go get our luggage, book another flight ourselves, check our bags with the other carrier, and then go back through security. We had to ride the tram at MCO 4 times!

I'll be on the phone with Frontier tomorrow as all they promised to reimburse is the flight - no baggage fees. I also expect for them to reimburse the car service I needed because we had to fly into a different airport. It may be a fight, but I don't think that we should have to cover those extra costs.

And, to top it off, the flight was a little bumpy and my DD6 threw up during landing. Poor thing!

We had a great trip despite the ending, but I'll share some highlights when I'm rested and in a better frame of mind. :crazy2:

Dee, DVC members staying on their points or someone else's points usw the same online check in as "cash" guests through the regular Disney website.

I'm trying to find information in the thread about the business center and if there is one. I may need to utilize their services if there is one . I know CSR has one.

I love that cake!! Can I ask what you ordered? I know our daughter would love something similar
Happy Birthday to your little one:bday:
I found a very similar cake on Pinterest and emailed them the pic - it's a 6" yellow cake with vanilla buttercream with bright pink and light pink frosting. It was super moist and really yummy. Please feel free to use the picture if you'd like :)

Kind of a strange question as I ponder last-minute things I may need... 2 sleeps to go, packing day is tomorrow! :cool1:

How many hangers are typically in a YC room closet? We will have 4 adults in our room, and I'll have several outfits to hang up since I'm staying 8 days. I'm wondering if I need to pack a few hangers. Thanks!

I think there might be a dozen hangers. Housekeeping will bring you more if you ask for them. I've started to bring a few extra hangers.

Parking question
We are arriving a day early and staying offsite. Do we have to go to the Beach Club and check in before we can go to the Magic Kingdom?

If we go from the offsite hotel directly to the Magic Kingdom do we have to pay for parking? Will our Magic Bands work to get us in the park? Or do we have to check in first?

BUMP!!!

Great questions- not entirely sure.

Will your park tickets be activated?

When does someone become a guest of the resort? If you do the online checkin and get the message that you don't have to go to the front desk to check in, would your MB show you as a guest of the resort.

Anyone know?

:scratchin

Is this resort included in Bounce Back offers? I was hoping to get a fall room discount and it turned out that nothing was ever available since the resort was all filled up already. So would BB be a way to actually get the discount? is that a good strategy? we are going to disney last week of october and are going to book a BB offer, i just need to decide what my top choices are. ty

:welcome: to the thread.

As others have answered, yes, the BC/YC is included in the bounceback, but may be limited availability as you have experienced.

Let us know if you are able to book a BB stay here.

:goodvibes:

We had a cake delivered to our room yesterday at the BC and it arrived exactly when it was supposed to. The YC/BC bakery was great to work with.

Wicked Awesome! Thanks for sharing.

Your question made me smile! Someone asked that in the past and someone counted and answered, but I don't remember.

As suggested- request more from housekeeping if you need them.

Yes, there is a business center and thanks for pointing out that I don't have any info about it in the thread other than that packages sent by UPS or Fed-Ex are delivered there. I will correct that omission!

According to the directory of services map I received (2013 trip):

Business Center: A complete office environment, including personal computers, facsimile machiens, copier and secretarial service is available at Disney's Yacht Club Convention Center. Hours of Operation are 7 am to 7 pm daily. Touch 7-3861 from room phone.

Anyone have further info? Or pictures???

:thumbsup2

BCV Room requests:

Thanks for this info- the DVC stuff confuses me!

I opted to not select any of the online check-in requests for my upcoming DVC stay. Since I am a member and staying on points, I called Member Services and had them note on my reservation: "courtyard view please".

Dee, DVC members staying on their points or someone else's points usw the same online check in as "cash" guests through the regular Disney website.

Were you already at the hotel and checked into your room when the cake was delivered. I ask as I wonder if they will deliver a cake to a room has not yet been checked into in case there is a mix up and someone else gets the room (and the cake).

Historically, they would not deliver anything to a guest room prior to check in for the very reason you mention. I don't believe that has changed.

Think of it this way - cash reservations at a DVC are treated exactly the same way as a regular resort reservation. There is no difference between booking a cash DVC and booking a regular resort room through Disney. And cash reservations get the same housekeeping and toiletries as regular resort guests. Every aspect of being in a DVC on a cash reservation is the same as a regular resort room.

Renting a DVC on points is kind of like booking through a travel agent. You have to go through the owner for room requests and the owners arrange the booking, like a travel agent would. But once you get to the 60 day mark you can do online check in just like any Disney resort guest. The only extra thing to remember is that the housekeeping services are different for DVC points bookings.

We stopped by Crews Cup for lunch yesterday and noticed that they are putting up a pretty large structure in the YC parking lot right across from the Conference Center. It looks like something permanent - anyone know what it is going to be?

My agent reached out to me a few days ago alerting me that she could start quoting today and for someone who wasn't planning to go next year at all, I sure didn't hesitate sending her a few options :upsidedow. I did notice that after doing the math, CL rooms are not discounted nearly as high as they have been in the past including this year's deals so if we do end up deciding to go next August, it will be a non CL room for us for sure. Based on Disney's lousy discounts this Fall, I'm really starting to wonder if next year's deals are going to be on the low end too.
The CL prices for me were, at a minimum, $1200 more for the week than the SV rooms. That's a lot of Sunken Treasures. I'm still not sure I can convince my husband this is a good idea. Going cheap is the only way, really. As I think about it, it might well just be me and the two middles, since I took my oldest and youngest this last August. The middles fight like crazy, but at Disney they have the most in common in terms of what they like to ride. I considered taking my mom, but that heat almost did her in last year. I'm better off waiting and hoping for some sort of deal in 2017 and taking her to flower and garden. Which would put the BC back on the table because the middles loved the pool area and they love Epcot.

I hope you get a decent response from Frontier. That just sounds awful. Glad you had a great trip up until the day you left!
