Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

My husband is concerned now that if we don't take the upgrade that we'll get to Beach Club and be at risk of having no room at all! That won't happen, right?! They'll have to accommodate us somewhere to honor our reservation, yes?
I reserved beach club cl September 2014. It wasn't until we arrived that we found out they overbooked the resort. It took them 3 hours to find us a room, they finally offered us contemporary, I turned down the offer. The only thing they could find was 2 queen beds non club level at beach club, we are a family of 5. For the first night all 3 kids slept in the same bed and the next day they found us a room with a daybed for our 3rd kid at yacht club, still not club level. ANYTHING can happen. Consider yourself lucky that you were notified.

If you wanted to move to another deluxe resort other than the AKL, you could counter offer with that. They might take you up on it.

My husband said he would only trade BC for the Poly, so I let her know that! I doubt that will happen, but I'm super excited to stay at the Beach Club, so as long as we get to stay there, I'm thrilled.

We are only two adults and a baby, so hopefully we wouldn't have such an issue if we are forced to move. I know nothing is guaranteed. We'll be keeping our fingers crossed for good luck!

...Also, does anyone have any current info/pics of the suite? I am having a hard time finding anything from after the rooms were renovated. Is the fridge a small one? We have had full size fridges in CL suites before (at the Contemporary most recently). Just trying to weigh my options. I was really leaning towards the villa because of the kids...seems more laid back. But the location of the suite is very tempting. Sorry for all the questions...I am completely unfamiliar with this resort!
I have some photos from when I stayed upgraded to a suite at YC last year. The room was not on the CL, but we had an access to the lounge. The room was really nice with a sitting area and 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. It had 4 queens and a sleeper sofa. The fridge was dorm size-the same size as CL at CR last year. It was a corner room, and did not have a full balcony.

I'm excited to be heading back to Yacht Club in a few weeks! I noticed there are new requests listed in the drop-down boxes for online check-in... but unfortunately, the 2 requests I'd like to make are not listed. Can I call and have my 2 requests noted manually on my reservation, even though they're not in the pre-set request options? (They're not unusual, I don't think- I'd like to request close to lobby, and a daybed)...

Yes, you can absolutely call to have them added. Have a great stay!!

Now I am worried! I'll be there during the same timeframe (arriving 11/17), and we are not checking into the YC until late at night after an evening flight. *If* they are sold out (and there's currently no availability for any room type at YC or BC for those dates), and anybody who checked in earlier in the day had turned down moves to another resort, might we be forced to move? My parents are arriving a few days later, also booked at YC... it would be terrible if we had to move and they weren't moved! But I guess we would figure it out however it works and no need to worry about it until it happens.

Thank you for the photos! Anyone have any BC ones?

We had a full size fridge in our one bedroom suite at CR, but we were Tower Club so maybe that's why.

Wouldn't we get mousekeeping in the villa with a cash reservation? I don't know that the IPO would be of much benefit at this point 44 days out - we already have everything reserved as far as dining and special events. Grrr...I cannot make a decision for the life of me.

Yes. A cash reservation gets daily Mousekeeping.
The fridge in the suite is dorm size. The sink is bar sized.
With 3 little ones I feel strongly the 2 bedroom Villa is a better option. You will have a fully equipped kitchen with a full size fridge & freezer plus a dishwasher and washer & dryer. All make life with young ones easier.
Good luck

Okay, not sure where the heck I've been the last couple of months but I just read they closed the Margarita stand in Epcot?? I loved those frozen margaritas, in fact, my favorite was to have all 3 flavors at one time and I was so looking forward to having a few, yes, a FEW during our trip next week.

I'm so bummed   .

I believe there is a margarita stand on the BoardWalk....

Yes, there is, but it isn't as good as the former one in EPCOT and does not offer the layered frozen marg--unless something has changed. Anyone can make a regular frozen margarita but you can't get mango, strawberry and lime all in the same glass just anywhere. While I am lamenting the loss--I was heartbroken when the Margarita Stand dropped the fourth flavor many years ago--that Kiwi along with the other three was even tastier.

I hope they compensated you for your troubles. That's ridiculous.

With the closing of breakfast at Hurricane Hanna's, I hope the Marketplace still has Mickey waffles. Is the Marketplace super busy at breakfast? It looks small compared to CBR's food court that we stayed in last year and there was a wait there during breakfast time. Just wondering if the Marketplace can handle the YC and BC?

Dee - will you please take us off the BOG list for December 3rd to 7th. We received an email from our travel agent offering us a free upgrade to the Grand Floridian, and we took it. We were already paying a very low price for the BC, but to pay the same amount of money for the GF, well, we just couldn't pass it up. We've never used this travel agency before, but they do seem to be very magical. ;)

We'll still be at the BC in October. :)

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

My first stay at the YC will be in October so I can't offer any personal feedback about the resort, but lots of people who post here are big fans.

The lounge was recently remodeled, you can find some pictures in Post 12, along with some photos of the food offerings there. I probably need to get some updated pictures of the food & drink, though.

:)
Hi Natebenma :) Just checking with you as I was looking for my name on the Be our Guest Page, but couldn't locate it....just wanted to make sure you have my details. They are: Chimo2u Nov 4-11, 2017 Concierge/ Eastern Caribbean Disney Fantasy then Nov 11-18, 2017 YC CL (27 anniversary celebration)
Thanks!
Marie

Can we be added to the list? I just booked our annual mother/daughter trip-BC CL deluxe room-Feb 24 to March 8. Our daughter will be turning 21 on March 6th so I am planning on her first "legal" drink at Dawa Bar followed by dinner at Tiffins. Husband and son will be hiding out at home in CT so DD and I will have our yearly blast during our girl's time!! Hopefully Club Villain will still be operating-we had such a fantastic time there this year, along with the Star Wars fireworks dessert party-both were amazing and we can't wait to do them again.

The Captain's Grille at YC serves breakfast also.

We booked a standard room for September (hubs, toddler, me). I requested a king bed #1 - any suggestions for request #2 that gives us a possibility of a non-hvac view? Right now I have full balcony.

Also, how is the pullout? I do not think Mr. Littles will abide by a pack and play anymore.
