Dee,
They used to have Dole Whips at SAB?!???!!!

Mind

Blown

I know, right?!?

For a few weeks last summer they were selling "Frozen" treats including a pineapple cup and pineapple whip float. They couldn't call them Dole whips due to licensing issues. But they were Dole Whips, alright!

AUGUST 2015

Sign was still up during our late Aug trip but the stand was never open - staffing issues

Can you imagine anything more perfect?

36 days until we check in to BCV. We are booked in a 2 bedroom villa and my friend (DVC Member) who booked it for us has on the request that the 2nd bedroom has 2 queen beds. Will BCV honor this? Also, will we be able to ask when we get closer or get there for a new refurbished one?

Whats the best grocery store that's reasonable on prices near BCV?
Looking to get a case of water, lunchmeat and etc.

Maybe, maybe not--:confused3--depends on availability when you check in. Be sure to reiterate your request at check in or ask if that request has been fulfilled. If not, ask if it is possible.

I'm kind of surprised you haven't received your magic bands yet. How long have you been booked? Check your MDE account to see if they have been shipped yet.
MDE account says we have 4 days to make any changes, assume they are being shipped after that...

There is a Walmart in Celebration--not terribly far away. There is also a Publix store not awfully far away. Google the stores in the area and see which suits you based upon which way you are arriving. AVOID GOODINGS!
Thank you, we will have a car and can stop there on our way in...

That's what I am going to do. My DVC reservation does say 2 beds but would really like a new room....

I would have your friend who is the DVC member add the request now of a newly renovated villa, instead of waiting till check in. My thinking is that the room assigners begin working on this long before check in. Keep in mind that the requests on file are "requests" that they try to honor, but no guarantees. ENJOY!:thumbsup2:goodvibes

I am thinking the Illuminations cruise could be fun. They also do one for the Magic Kingdom fireworks but you are much closer to the action with the Illuminations cruise. We just did it earlier this month (see pics a few pages back and I have lots more I didn't post). Feel free to pm if you have questions.
Wow that's a neat idea, might be a good idea for us to try one ..we watched the fireworks from the Pirates and Pals cruise once and it took my breathe away..you really do see the fireworks better from the water! I will look into it further who knows if they will like it if they don't at least give it a go? Now has anyone taken a Segway tour? If so how did you enjoy it and do Disney still offer them? I'm thinking a tour behind the living with the seas might be good too if it's still available. Gosh it's not easy to choose just one thing. We just watched a video about rescued sea turtles down in the Florida Keys that DS was completely absorbed by... I can't believe he wants to be a physicist and not a marine biologist but perhaps it's really me that's an ocean nerd:scared:I was a huge Jacques-Yves Cousteau fan as a kid and wanted to dive down deep into the oceans with his teams. Don't get me wrong he loves all sea life and most land dwelling animals too, he just prefers science in a lab to in a field or water.

Awwww how sweet! A surprise trip would be so much fun but I don't know if I could keep that kind of a secret! We're staying 11 nights (longest vacation I've ever had!) and I'm having a hard time coming up with clothes for that many days. We like different clothes for dinner after being in the parks so that's a lot of outfits....I REALLY don't want to do laundry on vacation so I may just have to go buy some new clothes :rolleyes1
Take separate tops and smart trousers or shorts or skirts in complimentary colour palettes and mix and match them to create different looks and have a couple of dresses you can use some well thought out accessories with and you are good to go. It works fairly well for me and we usually go for 14 nights so it's become a habit. You can pick up some really nice items in Orlando and not feel guilty about the cost when you wear them again. Second to last trip I lost some tops due to accidents and bad weather during the stay and found some lovely ones to replace them with for a reasonable price . We still had loads of room when we packed to come home again we only needed the two cases we went with and we're still under the weight limits by a few kgs.

Can you still use the swimming noodle things in the lazy river part of the pool? We stayed at BC in 2009 and bought a couple cheap ones at Walmart. It was great to just float the day away!

Would love to hear reports form those there now who have watched the new Star Wars fireworks from the beach. I've heard the new show has more lower fire works than the old show and I know they are shot off from a different location so I'm curious how it looks.

They were open one afternoon of our week long Beach Club stay - they tasted so much better than a regular Dole Whip as we enjoyed them at SAB! It was perfect for sure :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9: Oh how I hope to have another one this upcoming August!

We used pool noodles on our August 2015 time in SAB. We are packing them again for our next trip - we just pack them in our suitcases and leave them at SAB with another family when we are leaving. It also makes for more room in our suitcases for souvenirs:-)

Which do you want more?? You need to choose

We did the Epcot World Showcase Segway tour and LOVED it. But it has been discontinued. As I said earlier there is still an " off road" Segway tour at Fort Wilderness.
