Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

From my research IPO not contacting you totally normal and you can contact IPO, here is a link to the CL focused thread here on the DIS to supplement any BC info you find here. They have contact info for IPO on the first page. http://www.disboards.com/threads/disneys-club-level-cl-information-and-questions.3414590/

I had to contact IPO with room requests. Nobody had reached out to me.

Shortly after the message was sent, I received a reply, stating that my requests were added to the record. That was all there was in the reply, besides telling me to have a "magical day."

Add us to the be our guest page! Going Aug 10 - 14, BC LV CL, didn't really care about LV, but it was all that was available. Doing Discovery Cove/Universal before Disney, we usually do it the reverse. We'll see how it works out doing Disney last instead of first.

Being a week out, I would call Member Services and add any specific requests to your reservation. I would do it quickly as room assignment will most likely begin mid-week next week. The online check in is somewhat limiting in the amount of detail or specific requests you can make, so I would not use that. Since the renovations started a little over a month ago I think the chances of getting a renovated room are slim, but it never hurts to request it. As I understand it, the wing/floor [5th] they started on and now completed is centrally located within the building. With regards to minimizing walking, that request would be for a room close to the main elevators in the BCV. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, fire away!
Thanks so much! I called yesterday and requested "a newly renovated villa please" :) I know this is a long shot but no harm in trying. And just to clarify...we don't need to minimize walking this stay. We requested a room "near the lobby" a few years ago. Other than that, we don't usually put in a request.

Thank you for this information. By reading the threads I had assumed I would have already heard by now if they were going to automatically contact me, but I wasn't sure. Glad to know I wasn't just overlooked :)

Beach Club question for the veterans. If we were to grab something to eat at the Beach Club Marketplace, do you know if there are any high chairs available to utilize at one of the tables around the area?

I can't decide if I am going to get suckered into paying $$$ extra $$$ for the Purple Magic Band Dessert Party or if I will be duped/forced into paying for the Purple Magic Band Processional package (people wearing the purple band will be marched around the park in a processional like pattern. The low low price for this magical experience is $105.00 plus tax!).

Then there is always the Purple Magic Band Character breakfast. My children have not experienced posing with the dancing Purple Magic Band character nor do we have any blurry, out of focus, off center Memory Maker photos with the dancing Purple Magic bands.

Decisions, decisions, decisions!

PS. I too have reserved a (FINALLY) Purple Magic Band for my trip. When I finally get it I am going to place it at the top of my Christmas tree in place of the star and all the other magic bands that are circling the tree like a paper chain will be jealous.

We're completely committed to the Purple Magic Band Dessert Party.

I'm coming home ... well not quite ... staying at the Cabins but I'm bringing Lily for a Nanny/Lily WDW trip on September 21st for six nights. Since we spend the majority of time at Magic Kingdom, being a boat ride away makes it easy. I tried hard to get her back to Disney this Spring but with the new house and all that is involved, it just isn't working out. But for Jeanne's spring break in mid-March, we are going to Huntington Beach and will spend one or two days at Disneyland. Not the same for sure but it will feed some of her Disney cravings!!!

I am settling in ... it's tough living out of two suitcases but I'm keeping real busy with Jeanne and Lily. I miss my Disney job and being in Florida so much. It seems like my life there with Bob was years ago. It's so hard thinking about it ... so I am doing the best I can and keeping busy and trying not to dwell on the past.

I know the Dis meet is in October this year, but it worked out better for Lily and I in September. However, that doesn't mean I won't come myself in October for the meet.

Miss you all!!!!!!! Hugs, Teena

Teena, how wonderful you have a Disney trip planned with your precious Lily. I'm struggling with the right words to say so I'll simply say God bless. I think you're on the right track keeping busy and trying not to dwell on the past.

Just returned on Friday from a four night stay at the BC. It was as wonderful as I remembered from previous visits with the exception of a very important lady missing from the lobby. I finally took the plunge and had a Sunken Treasure. Oh my, it was delicious!!! If I wasn't so cheap, I would have had one every night I was there LOL.

The good news is that there will be lots of chocolate at this (Fictional) Purple Magic Band Dessert Party. The bad news is that it's being held in the Magic Kingdom bypass area behind the Plaza restaurant. Your big excitement for the night will be when TinkerBILL smashes into the landing pad when they forget to open the doors and let her/him in.

All this for the low, low Disney Price of $4,998 per person (children are $4,997 each). At those prices you'd better eat enough of that chocolate to bring on Paroxysmal "Diabeeetus".

PS. Theme park admission is NOT included in the (Fictional) Purple Magic Band Dessert Party. Just bring your Power of Attorney and sign all your money over to Disney. They are going to get it all anyway so what's the point of even trying to be sensible or on a budget?

We are arriving very late in the evening and I was considering using car service instead of Magical Express, especially since we need to collect our own luggage anyway.

Can anyone recommend a car service they've used and been happy with. We only need it on the way to the hotel - we'll take the bus on the way home.

Thanks.

We've used Murray Hill Transportation the last couple years and have had great service! Always on time, personable and easy to work with, and reasonably priced.

We're baaaack!!! After finally trying the Yacht Club last August we fell in love with the boardwalk area and are now booked again for June 25 - July 2 in a YC SV Club Level room. Woohoo!! Very excited!

My kids and I have been to WDW many times over the past 12 years and this time we're going to be joined by my sister and niece. This will be their first trip to WDW and I am really looking forward to experiencing this trip with them and their new and fresh look at everything inside the Disney Bubble!

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

What a great intro to WDW for your sister and niece!

:cool1:

I am super excited to say that we will be having our first ever Deluxe stay in December (and our first CL stay as well). We are going over my birthday weekend and I couldn't think of a better time to mark an item off my Disney bucket list  Our dates are December 2-6. Does anyone have a suggestion for a room request for standard club level? My daughter would be in heaven with a full balcony, but I don't know which rooms have that? Any suggestions would be appreciated. We booked a month ago, but I still haven't received anything from the CL IPO. Does anyone know if that is normal? Thanks for any help you can offer. I think I am more excited about our first stay at BC in December than I am over our first stay at Coronado this summer (though I know that both will be wonderful stays)!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

What are your priorities for your stay? Full balcony? Daybed? Location- close to lobby/elevator. Quiet room at end of hall?

There is a thread on the Resorts Community sub-forum, Beach Club Room views that give some samples of views in various rooms. Look at the rooms numbed 5xxx in the Standard View index to see a few possibilities of view.

:thumbsup2

ETA: In January, I booked a YC CL stay for October. I haven't heard from IPO yet, but will contact them when/if I need to. Most likely I will book my own dining reservations- I prefer to do it that way.

:rolleyes1

Hello everyone! I'm sure this has been asked before, but just wondered the best way to get to Magolia golf course from the Beach Club? I was told that in CL they provide taxi vouchers, however I have read that this is no longer so.

TIA :tigger:

First time I have seen this question, so, thanks!

Please let us know what you find out. I'm not going to suggest asking through Disney Reservations because I don't think I would trust the answer. Can you call the pro-shop?

::yes::

Found info just now, directly on Disney's website, about transportation to their golf courses:

Transportation & Directions
Complimentary transportation via taxi is available to Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. You may request a ride at the Valet Desk or from Bell Services at select Resort hotels, and in the Pro Shop or from any golf operations staff members at the golf courses. Guests are advised to check with Guest Services or Concierges for any transportation options offered by their hotel. Golf Day Guests who wish to arrange their own transportation to the golf courses will find that there is no charge for parking at the golf course itself or when going through a Toll Plaza on the way to the golf courses.

Thanks for finding and posting this.

Select hotels, huh??? I sure hope Yacht & Beach qualify.

;)

I don't know- I think I have a couple of pictures of the seating area. I'll see if I can spot a high chair.

ETA: Ding! Ding! Ding!!! We have a winner- see post below, pictures Pixarmom took of the "outside" (covered) seating area across from the Marketplace. I spy with my little eye some high chairs in the last picture.

(lost my eye-spy smilie)

So glad to hear you had a great trip! And a Sunken Treasure. :drinking1

I treat myself to a Sunken Treasure on occasion, but I am like you. Too cheap to drink much at Disney prices. Or even at local restaurants.

:lmao:

Has anyone been on the Jib slide since the January maintenance work?

Any reviews about the ride? Fast, slow, smooth, bumpy?

Thanks!

Hi Everyone! I need some help wording this. I'm going to be calling in (or having my TA do it--not sure which yet) my room requests. Because we have the magical exclusive agency package which only has SV rooms available, I am a bit limited. More than having a full balcony (which would be great), I am more concerned with being over or near the service entrance/parking lot, or over the Port Cochere. We had a trip to GF last year where we were near the service truck entrance and every morning at 5am I woke (and remained awake) to beeping. I don't want to hear the traffic of the ME busses, either. In addition to asking for what I do want, is there a way to ask for what I don't want? Also, would you recommend I call this in myself, or have my TA do it? Not sure which will be more effective. Thanks in advance!

Hi all! Just a quick question I thought would best go here. When staying at the BCV last summer there was a lot work being completed on the BC itself. Is that work finished? Were all rooms upgraded or only certain blocks?

Easy answer is to see page one of this thread for all the latest on the refurbishment work. Long answer is BC is completed, BCV is underway and YC is yet to come (although the CL lounge has been finished). Hope this helps.

Hi everyone! We (me, DH, DD7 and DD4) are going with another family 10/1 - 10/8. We are staying at BCV and they are staying at YC. I can see on the map that BCV is farther away from YC than BC - so what location should we request for our room to be as close as possible to YC? It would also be nice to be closer to SAB.

We've never even visited the BW area, so we're VERY excited to try this resort!
