Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

I just wanted to post that we will be leaving tomorrow morning. If anyone is stay at Beach Club Villas, we will be leaving some water bottles behind on the 3rd floor near the elevators. We can't take with.

I haven’t done the EEH late night walking back, but I did do a pre-dawn walk from YC to DHS for the Galaxy’s Edge opening. Saw less than half a dozen people the whole way. It was weird. Way more peaceful than a walk home from the park. There’s definitely more people walking around after a late closure. However, you might not need to walk back if you are nervous. They will run buses once the boat stops running, for at least an hour after park close.

We got a private bus one night after a lengthy post-park closure dinner at DHS one time, they had buses lined up and a CM just directed you to the appropriate bus. We were the only ones headed to BC so we had the bus to ourselves.
Thank you! That makes me feel so much better❤️

I walked home from the AH event at HS by myself and felt fine. There weren't a ton of other people around, but there were a handful of groups also walking back, maybe 75-100ft in front of and behind me, so I never felt alone. Plus, once you get under the bridge and next to the Boardwalk, there were a handful of CMs out doing work around the property.
Thank you! That’s exactly what I was looking for❤️

This is us too. We arrive 1/13. I have BW reserved right now because of SAB closure but would change in a heartbeat if the refurb started at end of January.
Same! My son’s favorite is BCV but we are booked at BWV starting 1/4. Hoping to hear SAB will still be open & we can make the switch. He’ll swim in a snow storm. 😂

Thanks Save,
Any info on the CL lounge? I see that there are no club rooms available from Jan 1st to Feb 17.
I have a club level room booked for Feb 6-18 at the Yacht Club, resort view, couldn't get water view! Hopefully they don't call me and tell me CL is not available.

Interesting, I couldn’t see any availability from Jan1st to Feb 17th. I am obviously wrong. I know there is something going on with CL lounge rehab so maybe they are not doing anything or they will be done by February.

Can someone tell me why they keep wanting to do room checks? We declined housekeeping a few times and were called later that day and told that they needed to come by to do a security check on our room. We were staying in the Villas. Is this something new? We didn't see the need for housekeeping to come every day to clean our room or give us more towels.

It’s been their policy to have an employee lay eyes in the room every day since the Las Vegas shooting in 2017. If housekeeping services the room, that suffices. If you decline housekeeping or it is not your day to receive it, Disney does a room check. Feel free to refuse housekeeping, but there will still be a room check every day. It may happen while you are out of the room & you won’t even know. Or it may happen while you’re in the room. Their reasons are their own, but it is their policy & will happen.

Thank you. I did not know that. I guess when we stayed are the resort side and declined service we never knew they checked. We never were called in 2018 or 2022 so we wouldn't have known that.

Does anyone know with the Stormalong Bay closure next year if Hannah's will also be closed?

Unfortunately I don’t think anyone has figured that out yet as Disney has given no indication one way or the other. They post hours 60 days out (so 11/22 at the moment), I’m going to keep a closure eye on it when it gets closer to see if that provides any clues.

Thanks! Good idea to keep an eye on hours

Just arrived at YC this morning, got the room ready text while at the pool, a great 4th floor location! We were surprised to find bottled water, a box of chocolates & a lovely note from the manager in our room. Any idea why we would’ve received these nice extras? Or is this a new norm?

We’ve had the chocolates the last few trips. No bottled water or note tho. Maybe they’re finally getting back to the old touches that used to make Disney resorts so special. 🤞🏻

Hello, friends... DH Bruce and I will be coming back to B&Y in March. I was able to get a Water view Club level this morning, using the AP discount. Not a huge discount (about 15%) but better than rack rate!

Here's our info - might change again, but I'll update as it does:

March 2 - 7, 2025, Yacht Club Club Level Water View

Now to go back and catch up here, as it's been awhile since our visit last April.

Jeanne & Bruce

Hi Guys! It’s very nearly time for our dream trip at the end of the month and I was just wondering if you have any recs for what to do actually on the 31st? We are a family of 4 Brits who are SO excited to experience how you guys celebrate Halloween! Don’t mind going off property if you can think of something fun, have Not So Scary booked for the 28th so can’t wait for that either! Thanks!

Last year there was trick-or-treating outside Yacht & Beach Club (near the lake), and also on the BoardWalk.

There also were Halloween games and crafts at Yacht & Beach Club and on the BoardWalk.

You did not have to be staying at the hotel to participate in the trick-or-treating.

You did not have to be staying at the hotel to participate in most of the games and crafts. However, some of the games and crafts at Yacht & Beach Club were held in the Stormalong Bay area, meaning Yacht & Beach Club hotel guests only (because you have to show a MagicBand or key card to get into that area).

The hotels have a monthly activity calendar, which are posted here:
https://www.disboards.com/threads/monthly-resort-recreation-calendars.3871996/page-59#post-65751858

But the hotels also have a one-day activity calendar specifically for Halloween, which probably will not be posted in the Resorts forum. Sometimes the hotels have it on a big sign in the lobby. But sometimes they don't. You will want to ask at the front desk of the hotels. And be prepared for some confusion on the part of the cast members at the front desk, while they try to figure out where the calendar is. I would ask on 10/31 itself. I doubt the cast members will have the information before then.

If people tell you that there are lots of Halloween decorations at Fort Wilderness: forget that, because for the last few years you had to be staying there to go there on Halloween.

I don't know of anyplace that you would go off-site for Halloween fun (unless you are doing a different theme park's version of MNSSHP).

Here are my photos of last year's Halloween activity calendars from BoardWalk and from Yacht & Beach Club.

I didn’t think it was possible for me to be even more excited than I already am but you’ve managed it! Thanks so much for the detailed reply, can’t wait to tell my husband now!

Since you are trying to catch up here. Are you aware of the long awaited Storm Along Bay closure from January thru June 2025?

Also some guest rooms at the YC will be undergoing a refurbishment January - May 2025. Not a clue what some guest rooms indicates but that is what Disney has posted on the YC overview page.
