Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Hi! Question, has anyone done the walk back from Hollywood Studios after extended evening hours and if so, how did it feel safety wise? Have an upcoming solo trip staying at Yacht Club and want to get an idea. I am hoping there will be other people or families leaving that I can try to stay close to. Thank you for any input or advice.

I walked home from the AH event at HS by myself and felt fine. There weren't a ton of other people around, but there were a handful of groups also walking back, maybe 75-100ft in front of and behind me, so I never felt alone. Plus, once you get under the bridge and next to the Boardwalk, there were a handful of CMs out doing work around the property.

Thanks Save,
Any info on the CL lounge? I see that there are no club rooms available from Jan 1st to Feb 17.
I’m not sure if you’re looking at the Yacht Club or the Beach Club, but there are club rooms available at the Beach Club 1/17-1/20.

I’ve also seen people asking about reducing rates because of construction: no, Disney won’t reduce rack rates for anything once they’ve been published. That said, if bookings are down, more rooms may be added to discounted rate inventories and/or available discounts will be deeper.

I made YC CL WV reservations in March 2025 knowing that SAB was being rehab. If discounts happen that a bonus. I also been told that the CL lounge is also being rehab and CL rooms at YC are not available from 1/1 to 2/17.

Thanks I am looking at YC CL and made a reservation in March 2025 CL at YC

Can you please just verify that the elevator is now fully working again? Last time I was at BCV, about 7 months ago, only one of the elevators worked. You'd think that by now, everything would be OK again, but I just don't trust engineering to get things promptly fixed.
When you walk in the door and turn right, there are 2 elevators. They both work.

Looking at the map, it appears that there also are elevators near rooms 158 and 166; I haven't tried those. I'll try to remember to check.

I haven’t done the EEH late night walking back, but I did do a pre-dawn walk from YC to DHS for the Galaxy’s Edge opening. Saw less than half a dozen people the whole way. It was weird. Way more peaceful than a walk home from the park. There’s definitely more people walking around after a late closure. However, you might not need to walk back if you are nervous. They will run buses once the boat stops running, for at least an hour after park close.

We got a private bus one night after a lengthy post-park closure dinner at DHS one time, they had buses lined up and a CM just directed you to the appropriate bus. We were the only ones headed to BC so we had the bus to ourselves.

BCV elevator near 156 works, but it's slows and really beat up. I wonder if cast members use it like a service elevator.

Not sure about cast members, but many, many, many guests use it as a service elevator! Even moreso than the rooms, guests are very rough on the elevators, banging suitcases and ECVs and luggage carts.

More than a year ago now, one of the main elevators near the entrance was out for way too long, and that was a problem. But all 3 elevators have been running for awhile now. I remember getting extra "Disney" steps a couple trips when taking the steps instead, at the end of the day, because we didn't want to wait in line for the elevator.

Surely there is an acronym for I’m Guessing It’s Been Discussed Before But I Can’t Find It. IGIBDBBICFI? Rolls off the tongue doesn’t it.

Those of you who are BC experts, does it appear that upcoming prices reflect the pool being closed or are Disney execs slapping each other on the back and congratulating themselves for charging the same price without the pool?
The prices at the Beach Club are still very high considering that the main pool will be closed. But when I compared the costs of a resort room view at the Beach Club to a resort view room at the Boardwalk for some dates in February, Boardwalk was about $50 higher per day. That surprised me because Boardwalk tends to be the same price as Yacht Club and Beach Club, or at least they used to be.

I think that management will keep prices high unless they see that they can't fill the rooms at YC and BC. Then they will issue a discount. But that is just my opinion. :)

We were at BC recently - we all commented on the rather terrible condition of the hotel side elevators. They were surprisingly very beat up and kind of gross, if I’m honest. Overall I thought BC was looking in great shape, but definitely not the elevators!

We were at BCV this past summer over July 4th week, and I snapped a pic of one of the newly painted lobby elevators for this exact reason. They are trying! I do wonder how long it took to look beat up again?

Regarding the BCV elevators not working, we've had stays there in Fall '23, Spring and Summer '24, and all 3 elevators in the building were working during our stays. I will agree that they can get backed up, and often we'd take the stairs rather than wait.

This is the BCV single elevator (not one of the two near the entrance) on 09/11/2024

Great, thanks!

I have never seen them lower room rates because a main feature (pool, dining, transportation) is down due to refurbishments.

Obviously I'm not a Wharton School graduate. A few years back I also thought they would (slightly!) lower room prices when they cut Magical Express service.

:(

That’s why they gave people such advance notice of this closure.

Okay, I suppose that's fair. I've stayed at a different resort each year for the last 17 years and was finally going to try Beach Club, but people rave so much about the pool it doesn't seem like this is Beach Club's year after all.

:confused3

And yet somehow Disney stock remains abysmally low!

:charac2:

Thanks to all who took the time to post a reply.

And yet somehow Disney stock remains abysmally low!

Disney stock doesn’t just reflect their theme park pricing. By many accounts, the theme parks & resorts prop up the rest of the company. If profits drop because resort prices are cut, the stock prices might go down even further.

Unfortunately I know you're correct. Parks currently seem to be the cash cow.
