Resort Thread Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB Resorts

Any thoughts on an April stay at YC or BC? Meeting the extended family for a week at BWV but was going to add a few days on at the beginning to get some (quiet) pool time in. I’ll need to work a bit during the stay as well. Will the quiet pools have any chance of not being crazy with the SAB refurb? Any construction noise to worry about during the day taking video calls (in room)?

Was initially looking at the S/D to get some Marriott points but the basic rooms are sold out and what’s available is pushing Resort View at YC/BC pricing. Other option is BWI which I didn’t really want to do with the week stay at BWV after it.
I’d expect the “quiet” pools to be anything but quiet in April. Spring/Easter break happening as well as warmer temps.

I think it may depend on where your room is located as to whether or not you’ll hear construction noise.

Given how you’ll be at BWV and don’t want to do BWI, I’d either book what you can get at Swolphin or maybe consider CBR with the skyliner. At least you’d have more quiet pool opportunity at CBR.

My hope, although not likely, is that they over estimated the amount of time it will take or something was not as bad as they thought.
I keep hoping that too bc I’d really like to add a few YC CL days to the end of our trip, but just can’t do it without the main pool in the summer.

I try to be hopeful but then see pics of the current situation and go "oh no" this is lasting far longer.....
I think that is exactly why Disney updated their initial May end date to indicated the project will be going through June. They knew they could not actually close SAB on Jan. 2nd and there was quite a bit of work that has been delayed for a few years.

To be fair, we don't know the project plan, so we don't know the amount of work taking place! I've seen the pool construction in person and also in pictures, and yea - it's a mess and looks like A LOT. But we have no idea if they're behind schedule, on schedule, or ahead of schedule. It's only been a month so far. They certainly seem to have a lot of people working on it most days.

Sure want to be optimistic they're saying end of June with the hope they can announce at some point it's opening 'early' in mid-June (and yes, I just made that up!). People feel better when something opens early rather than late, obviously! But that pool really needs to be open no later than July 1......

They extended the closure from May to June. Looks to me like they originally underestimated & corrected it with the June date.

I’m getting mixed info on CL rooms for 4.
Are there rooms with 2 Queens and a sleeper like they have at the GFlo?
I’m traveling with boy/girl teen twins and they prefer to not sleep with mom and dad anymore.

Are all the CL renovations done? We’re coming in March and are find with SAB rehab, but wouldn’t love CL reno.
Thanks!!

Does anyone have information on the guided fishing tours? I tried to find information on times and costs but I didn't find anything current. If anyone is there now could you share any current information. We are going in March and celebrating my DH completing Chemo, he is an avid fisherman and would love to do this, I would like to be able to schedule in advance and surprise him!

Literally pick any other hotel on property that isn’t under going a refurb. If the weather is nice enough for a pool day there is no chance you will find “quiet” pool time with SAB down.

For Swolphin remember to check for discounted rates (like AAA) and 3rd party booking options like via Costco, Credit Card travel portals or Expedia type websites. Sometimes rooms are sold out direct with Marriott but OTAs still have an allotment.

Thank you both for the feedback, I went ahead and booked the Swan since it ended up being the same price as the preferred location at CBR. I’ll hold on YC/BC until next year.

Arriving at Beach Club on June 29. If the pool isn't open that week, we plan to use Resort Pass and visit Swan and Dolphin. Praying Stormalong Bay construction is done, though!
Interesting! Playing around with availability I don't see any weekends available except this weekend for just a pool pass. Do they only open weekend dates the week of?

No idea. I just think it's a great alternate option when you want to stay at your bucket list resort but the pool is closed.

Fingers crossed for you that they are on schedule and the pool opens no later than July 1. That way you'd get to enjoy the brand new and improved SAB for most of your stay! And something you probably already know, but you should have access to a free day at the water park on your arrival day - might be something fun to enjoy that day if you arrive early enough and can fit it in.

Would you still go to the water park if SAB is open and you're staying at BC/YC? If thrill slides aren't your thing, is it worth the trek over to one of the WP's? Curious as someone who's never been to any of the above mentioned, and staying at BCV Sept 2025.
