Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

Thanks for all your updates! I love that you ended with a positive one. Some people don’t do that.
We almost wanted an upper floor but decided to just go with it and it was so convenient. I loved the redo of the room with no carpet, the bathroom with walk in shower etc. Nice and clean
We haven't been to Disneyworld in a while. Everyone was so nice there.

We’re planning a trip in fall 2025 and are considering a studio room in boulder Ridge or copper Creek. We have never stayed there before. Can anyone tell me which rooms are preferable or to be avoided, in terms of balconies and views? They list two types of studios, one with walk in shower. Does that make a difference as to the type of view? Appreciate any help thanks!

I have stayed at WL over the years and finally tried a CCV studio in July. We had the walk in shower one,

One thing that is nice about CcV is that it is near both pools. Also it’s in the main building so close to lobby, food and shops. That is helpful with cold , heat or rain.

For the walk in shower rooms they were spread around the CCV side so could get about anything view wise. (used touring plans for info).

How many people will be in the room? Our room slept 4. It had a queen and a sofa sleeper, a table and 2 chairs. It was just myself and my dd so it was fine.

You can google the room categories and watch videos.” Here for the ears “ does a good job but there are plenty out there to see.

I’m not super knowledgeable on dvc (I’m not an owner) but if you ask any other questions there are a few experts on here that will probably respond.

I did walk the grounds and the BRV seemed quiet.

BRV is newly renovated and they got rid of the sleep sofa for a Murphy bed. BRV can also sleep 5, while CCV only sleeps 4 and still has a very uncomfortable sleep sofa for the second sleeping surface. BRV has one studio without a balcony, 4533. There is a reason, but I can't remember why. BRV all have tubs and rooms were built to be DVC. All CCV studios have balconies. Some on the higher floors are enclosed, so you have to stand up to see out. And most of the CCV rooms with tubs are on the first floor, so if you want a room on an upper floor, don't book a tub room, they are harder to get when booking through Disney, too. There are a few alternate studios (4 or 5 I believe) at CCV which are tub rooms, they are a different layout and almost like a 1BR, but they are very difficult to get. You can request one, but it's just a request and since so few of them, it's not likely. Views for CCV are going to be either facing the lake/pool courtyard, or BRV. All are nice. BRV your view could be the lake (odd number rooms) or the woods, and there are a few dumpster/laundry metro room views, too. You are in the main building for CCV (if facing the lake, CCV are the rooms in the right side wing, they are converted hotel rooms). BRV is a separate building, it has a beautiful lobby (you don't check in there) and the train room, great for relaxing. Both are great, if you need two beds, for comfort, I'd do BRV. The CCV pullout sofas are old and not comfortable anymore. Oh, the 5th floor studios at BRV do not have the Murphy bed, it is also a pullout, but new ones, so more comfortable.

I want to say we had first floor room and felt it was convenient to Roaring forks, laundry room and going outdoors to the pool or path to the boat.
Also we could see the fireworks through the trees from our room.

Loved our room and location
Being close to the pool is a really nice part of being on the first floor.

Hope this works, I’ve never tried posting a picture! Does anyone know what type of room that is (top floor)? It’s on the hotel side, near the lobby. I was on the 4th floor of CCV.

This is a great summary! I am curious about the villas having a dumpster/laundry view. I have looked through all the photos on Touring Plans and I don’t recall seeing any dumpsters. I did see a building I didn’t recognize on the lake side, near the pool and cabins, is that a laundry/maintenance building? I did stay in a dumpster room in the main lodge many years ago. It had a view of the smokehouse and a dumpster. But I am not familiar with BRV having dumpster views.

This is super helpful, thank you! It’s just me and DH so we would be okay with CCV studio. I’m leaning toward CCV right now just because it’s attached to the main building and that might be a bit more convenient but certainly not a deal breaker. Question - which higher floors have enclosed balconies? Not sure I’d like that as much as a regular balcony.

Thank you so much! It’s just me and DH so we would be fine with either studio as we won’t be pulling out the sofa. I really just want a balcony to go out in the morning, get a feel for the day and sit out at night to enjoy an adult beverage. We will have to research more on touring plans…

We stayed in the smokehouse side of the main lodge a few years ago in a room at the end of the hall closest to the smokehouse and loading dock. I wasn’t crazy about that part of our view so I just ignored that side and looked to the right lol. We had a great view of fireworks and space mountain and contemporary resort so I really couldn’t complain. Fireworks view without having to pay a premium! I didn’t smell the smokehouse or dumpster. We were on the 4th floor.

From what other posters have said, there are a few rooms at the end of the BRV hallway that overlook the area where the laundry metros are dropped off and picked up. I have been fortunate enough to not have stayed in those rooms though I do know where they are located (at the very end of a LONG hallway - not BWV or Kidani long, but long).

At CCV the rooms on the 6th and 7th floors have enclosed balconies.

We had a king room on the first floor looking at the pond and across the way were the cabins.
room 1022 . Located close to laundry, Roaring forks around the corner, down the hall to main lobby, and Las the other direction outside to pool or path to the boat.
