We have a new favorite resort! I wouldn’t have imagined I’d love it here more than Poly, and I LOVE Poly. We are staying in a 2br at CCV. The room is beautiful and the view is so peaceful. It feels a world away from the parks although it’s only a 10 minute boat ride. The pool was awesome today and my kids really enjoyed the splash area and main slide. The vibe here is so relaxing and the theming is so detailed. The bison burger and brisket from Geyser point were excellent!

Is the water at the splash area and slide heated or is it warm enough? My kids would still use it even if it's 50 degrees but wondering if I need to bring a thicker rashguard.

Hi all, I'm sorry if this has been answered earlier on....I've tried looking back and can't find an answer. Is all of the WL rooms getting renovated? If so, when is it starting and when is it scheduled to be complete. I have an upcoming August reservation at the Poly but am seriously considering switching over. A newly renovated room would definitely help sway my decision. Thanks!
Renovations started at the top with the seventh floor and they have been working their way down. They were working on the 2nd floor when we were there a few weeks ago. I would guess that by the time the Wilderness Lodge is scheduled to reopen in June that the renovations would be complete. :)

Thank you for the beautiful photos! We are looking at WL(never been) and wondering about changes to the food choices/availability and menus for what's open since Covid. Does someone have a link or photos they can post about that?
So far, Artist Point is the missing option for food, but Roaring Fork, Geyser Point, and Whispering Canyon are all open and fairly normal.

All of the WL hotel rooms are under refurbishment while the hotel is closed. The Copper Creek side and Boulder Ridge Villas are currently open, and not being refurbished.

My kids wore long sleeve rashgaurds but the splash area was still cool. They played anyway. The pool was actually perfect! We were hesitant to get in but were very comfortable.

Wish that were my view! Currently staring at a snow-filled landscape (although sunny) and more snow coming soon! Also, FREEZING.
🥶🥶🥶
You don’t want to hear me talk about how yesterday was chilly at 46 degrees in the morning, but today is much warmer and prettier. It is going to be a beautiful day.

First love your pictures that you share with us.

This has been one of those years where we have these repeated dramatic weather swings. It is going to be cool again on Monday thru Wednesday (Feb. 1 -3). Lows near 39 degrees in the early morning hours.

Thanks so much. I absolutely love Wilderness Lodge and it is my favorite place to take pictures.
After many summer and September trips to Disney World, we just can’t get used to having cool weather in Florida. It is a refreshing change, but not stepping out from the lodge into oppressive heat an humidity just seems odd to us.

Hey @GrandCalifornian - how’s the geyser looking/sounding these days? When we stopped by to have lunch last month it sounded a little.... rough... almost like there wasn’t enough water in the pump or something.

Beautiful pics by the way.

It is funny you should ask, because I particularly noticed that the 7am Geyser was weak. Last year it was routinely more impressive. I had the same thought, wondering if they turned it down of if it was broken, but then the 8:00 one was much better. I will keep checking, but so far on average it is less impressive than usual.
It’s fine though, this morning was absolutely beautiful, and there’s no place I’d rather be.

There was a beautiful sunrise Saturday morning and I was thinking that we would both be seeing the same sunrise over Bay Lake. :)

We had lunch at Geyser Point on Saturday and I got a Magic cookie bar from Roaring Forks. We had a terrible time trying to get from Grand Floridian to Epcot via bus on Saturday afternoon. So we arrived too late to find you, even though I kept looking. :) We went to Animal Kingdom Sunday morning, arriving at 7:30 am and leaving around 9 am. We rode the safari and saw the gorillas, which were playing on the hill - so cute. Then we had to get back to the resort for our Magical Express. I'm sorry we didn't run into you, but it was a really short trip for us. We had fun, though, and the weather was great, especially Saturday. :)

Hello WoodNymph! We looked for you too, but it is neat that we both got to enjoy that beautiful sunrise on Saturday. Friday was colder and more windy, so Saturday felt particularly beautiful.
We’re glad you had a great quick trip.
