Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

I believe it’s actually only floors 1-5, since the Deluxe rooms aren’t on the 6th floor with the recessed roofline. That leaves only 10 of them in the resort.
You are quite correct after I checked my pictures of the WL. Also just a note that the 5th floor Deluxe rooms have a wide wood railing that obstructs the view and you will need to stand for the full view. Also on floor 1-2 the rock walls / balcony make these rooms a little darker.

ETA: add floor 1-2 details

Just returned from a week at WL...…...what can I say..... It was magical!

We just love the peace that the WL affords us while still being in the hustle and bustle of WDW. We actually had an opportunity to use the pool, which was under refurb during our last visit...yeah that long ago. It's a wonderful pool and pool area...…..we loved it! We especially enjoy Geyser Point! Had lunch there once and relaxed there on departure day. Its just a perfect setting.

We had a standard room on the 5th floor. Our room (5006) looked out on the MK and the Contemporary :-), however that one big pine kept it from being perfect o_O…...not the fault of the WL. We were able to see, albeit partially, 2 fireworks shows....so you take the good with the bad. The room was clean but in dire need of a refurb. The shower head leaked a bit and the plug setup near the desk would hold our iPhone plugs. On the positive side the room/area we were in was quiet and they have NOT put in the new immovable shampoo/conditioner sets like at other resorts......so we did bring home some Disney (H2O) shampoo and such. :P

Given those small issues the staff at this resort is magnificent. We had an Uber problem on a morning we needed to be at the Boardwalk. The fellows out front did all they could to help, even running to find where the driver was. In the end the Front Desk CM's called the restaurant and fixed it all up for us.

Let's just say we love this resort . Because we like to mix it up we don't anticipate a return until 2021 but that will be a big moment and we feel comfortable trusting it with our friends at the Wilderness Lodge. :D

Glad you had a great time - I can't wait to be back "home" in December! It will be my mom's first time enjoying the Lodge! :sunny:

We just got back from a 5 night stay at WL. It was one of the most magical stays we have had. We were on the 5th floor with a view of the castle and space mountain. We got to see the fireworks from our room which made my DS very happy. The best part of our trip was one afternoon DS decided he didn’t want his afternoon nap. So we went to fill up our mugs and sit in the rocking chairs in the lobby. Well the elevator opened and out came Mickey, Pooh, Tigger, Chip & Dale, Goofy, Pluto and Smee! They were doing cast member training and it was just a surprise thing. My son was beyond excited and it made his day. His face was just priceless and my husband and I were both happy he missed his nap for that!

Here now. When I walked past the Roaring Fork earlier today I noticed that the barrels of refillable cups were really low wondering whether they will fill them up again with regular cups or break out the Halloween cups.

Good upgrade to a Courtyard room. Let us know if you hear any late night noise as that corner can get busy when the last of to boats return.

Did any CMs know about the room refurbishments or the timing of the AP conversion from SD to Character Dining?

Dave
We ate at AP last night. Waiter confirmed they are changing dinner to character meal. I was hoping they’d add a breakfast and leave dinner alone. I think it’s starting in Nov?

Was watching MK fireworks tonight on balcony (thru the trees) and a little tree frog hopped on my balcony railing. I had to close door quickly so he couldn’t get in room. I’m on 5th floor! How can the frog get up here?!

Well the little tree frog has incredible ability to climb even on smooth surfaces like glass. There is no problem with them climbing up the exterior side of the WL. The good news is they are harmless and don't want to live with you any more than is seems that you want to share your room with him/her.

They love to resorts due to the external lighting at night and quite dark places outside during the day (outside under balconies and even light fixtures.

That's nothing
This guy was hanging out on the window in the CL lounge, 7th floor

just remembered this
I never got a chance to ask anyone about when the refurb should start
We were not in the room late night, we hung out at GP but we're in that morning and didn't hear a thing

So I am actually feeling guilty as I post this...arrived this morning and got text at 11:00 am while I was on ME that my room was ready. I had requested a room on upper floor with Fireworks view if possible. I have a beautiful view of the Contemporary on the right with top of GF visible on the left and the castle in the middle with the monorail going right across everything. The cabins are right below. Best room ever...also added CL as an extra...
Going to DAH tonite.
what room number? wanting to request a great room for our May trip
