Disney's WILDERNESS LODGE Information & Questions

When I go to a thread I like to see the first page, it's welcoming and full of important information just like this one. The only thing that I find confusing is Post #14 Transportation only because I see the date 2014 and I have to ask myself is this information still accurate. I certainly do not want to offend @WDWKOOK this was a massive undertaking and I seriously doubt I could do half as good, alright one fourth. I'm so grateful to see the passion, the photography and hours of labor poured into these pages, truly. Transportation is a lifeline to the heart of Wilderness Lodge. I can't help but wonder how these times have been impacted as Copper Creek breathes new life. If you could please, please write to the effect this is 2017 Current on the top it would be so helpful to me and others. Thank you.
We have stayed at WL when it was at full capacity, before construction closed the south wing, and two times after the south wing was closed. We didn't notice any significant difference in bus times. The big difference was the number of people on the bus. The buses weren't as crowded during the construction period as they were during full resort capacity.

I think that everyone is waiting to see how the new Copper Creek Villas and Cabins affect not only transportation but the restaurants and pool. We are depending on people who are staying at the WL after CC opens to let us know how these areas are affected. :)

POST 14 (TRANSPORTATION) does have @GrandCalifornian's September 2016 travel time chart shown above the 2014 time chart. September 2016 was the last time @GrandCalifornian (and I) were at WDW.
The biggest difference I have noticed since GC wrote this times chart was that the morning buses to AK, DHS and Epcot went directly to the parks. They did not stop at another resort on the morning run. They did share later in the day and in the evening. :)

Any current info on extra happenings around the lodge such as the Lodge Tour that usual is set for W-Sat or Flag family... are these still going on at all? I was hoping for the tour and a 'fingers crossed' on that Flag family thught ;)

The lodge tour was still going on when we were there in March. We saw them. :)

Thank you (belatedly) for posting your TR to the thread, @Wood Nymph. They should have given you a little upgrade after the bad timing of your one and only OFC stay;)
Yes, a little upgrade would have been nice. ;) I had learned several things during my tour of the new Old Faithful Lounge, including the fact that they went back to serving cobbler for dessert the week after we were there. He told me that they decided that there was no reason not to serve it. That tidbit of information didn't helped my feelings about our unfortunate experience. ;)

Great Part Two, @Wood Nymph and thank you also for your photos. Where are you booked for your next visit?
We will be staying at the Beach Club in only nine days. We're plannng to visit to WL during that time. We miss Geyser Point and want to see what the new pool looks like. I heard that there was landscaping now. And we need to plan a return to WL in January or February. It is our favorite time to stay there.

Birthday!?! Mine is Oct 30th what's your date? Looks like we'll be celebrating the magic during the same time frame 10/26 - 11/1. We'll be staying at BRV for the first time. We usually stay at WL but we wanted to try something new.pixiedust:
My birthday is Oct 29th and I have plans to ONE day celebrate at Disney! My biggest issue is I am a teacher so it's hard to go during the school year.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy your birthday trip!

Can someone tell me if there are alarm clocks in the Wilderness Lodge rooms? I know Disney removed them awhile back and the past 2 trips we brought one from home. Just wondering if I need to pack ours.

Thank you!!
Carla

They didn't have any in March. We always bring one from home. :)

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I'm putting ours in the luggage right now!!

Carla

Just an FYI. Your room might have one, and it might not. Yes, they did remove them from every WDW resort room but if a guest requested one from housekeeping they would bring them one. If that happened, they did not go back and remove the clock after the guest checked out. So if you get a room that someone prior to you requested a clock there will be one. And you can always request one when you get there.

Not saying that you shouldn't bring one, just wanted to let you know.

This is great to know, thank you!!

Humphreys on Facebook is reporting Roaring Fork is now open. Is anyone there to confirm?

Thank you both! Humphrey says he was told that by a phone Cast Member today but he didn't expect it to be true.
I was hopeful as we had received the crazy email earlier this week instructing us to pick up our refillable mugs there. I guess its just another error filled email from the mouse. Thanks again!

I have to admit we pull our son out of Jr. high school to attend MNSSHP every year but we are very involved parents:flower3: and he does extremely well. I look forward to the day of going to WDW while he's in college:ssst: but for now I savor the wide eyed wonder he experiences each year.

Thank you and best wishes to you too! :cake:

Thank you for the update on the buses. I'll add your update to POST 14, @Wood Nymph. I assume you're not going from May to next year before another trip to WDW and that's just the interval till your next stay at WL? Everything is changing rapidly in the WL area - actually, all over WDW. You really need to go as often as you do just to keep up.
