After 5 nights at YC, heading to WL tonight for 3 nights! . Will probably get there late tonight, but planning to skip parks on Saturday and spend all day hanging at the Lodge. Heading home early Sunday - excited to return to WL! (Stayed there on our last trip in 2011).

The best of both areas! We just returned from our WL stay on Sunday and had a fabulous time! Love the location and transportation options. My other favorite resort is Y&BC, love location for Epcot/DHS area. Enjoy!!

It was last reported being in the WL Courtyard. The scaffolding has been in use for many months and was predicted to be up at least through the end of the year, if not longer. They are doing painting and repairs to the entire Lodge.
Thank you! This thread is very helpful!

You're welcome:)

Any recent club level stays? I am curious about the lounge food selections :)

Thanks!

The menus and photos of pretty much everything they serve at the OFC are in the CL chapters of the thread. The hyperlinks are in POST 1. They have a really good selection of items from 5-7 and don't forget about COBBLER TIME! 8:00 sharp;)

Obviously I've failed quoting 101- let's blame the post-op drugs. :crazy2:

Or not enough:rolleyes:

We are going to do it :) i just cancelled my two orbitz reservations. We have been to WDW a ton of times and need something new and fresh. We have stayed at all the resorts and all club levels except the WL so something different will be fun. I really like the idea of the extra space. I did online check in and requested highest level and near an elevator. I hope that gets me a courtyard/pool view. I love the view from the deluxe room at the beginning of this thread. I never have room luck though :-/

Looking forward to our first stay at the Wilderness Lodge!!

Did you see the Deluxe room information in the thread HERE? There is a map and view information.

All the Deluxe rooms either face the CY (Mid-Lodge) or directly face Bay Lake at the end of the wings, however, the North Wing rooms at the end of the wing have obstructed views. If you want a CYV, request "Mid-Lodge and high floor." No need to request close to elevator as they are all located in the same Mid-Lodge area.

I'll be there the day after tomorrow!! Hopefully tomorrow doesn't drag along!

Are you there yet? Hope you're having a magical stay.

So is it a definite must that I try the portabella soup at Artist Point? Been reading up on articles and any mention of the restaurant always raves about the soup more than anything.
It's tasty and also available from Territory Lounge if you don't want to go to AP for it.

WOOHOO! If you're like us, we couldn't wait to get to WL from YC;)

Thanks yes i did see the info at the beginning of this thread. Those photos and map and view all helped me decide to go with the deluxe room. When i did the online check in I did not have options for room location other than floor and near elevator. so I selected highest floor and near elevator - with the hopes we would be assigned a mid lodge room location.

ETA - I just went into MDE to double check and these are the choices I can make...

ground floor, second floor, fourth floor, fifth floor, sixth floor, highest floor, upper floor, lower floor, and near elevator.

So I'm hoping with the "highest floor" and "near elevator" selections checked that will get us in a handy location. If we do end up on the ends of the U, how far/long does it take to get to the lounge?

I will be there in the afternoon after spending the morning at EPCOT. Early morning drive up there. I always have a magical time up at Disney. Thanks for this thread, I love it.

The OCI/MDX room location requests are generic and don't necessarily pertain to your specific booking. Often, they aren't even relevant to a booking, no matter where you're staying.

You need to just email the IPO and tell them you want the request I suggested added to your reservation. The Room Assignor will see both OCI requests and those added to your reservation. Just make sure they don't contradict each other. Don't feel like you have to choose OCI requests if you've already added them to your reservation through the IPO.

Making FP+ selections in a just a little bit and am freaking out I'm going to mess it up! This is my first trip using FP+ and MagicBands and my first trip in the summer, and my first stay at WL. Eeek! Thankfullly, this thread has made me nothing but super psyched to stay at WL. Hoping to get some good coveted FP+ times!

Anyone there now that can post a recent scaffolding pic? Not really concerned about it ruining the trip...I'm sure I won't pay much attention to it at all. But, I had requested a room in the north wing inner courtyard and want to make adjustments to that if those rooms will still be unavailable :)

I'm not versed in what locationis where, but I can tell you where I am and the scaffolding we see?

We have a Woods View room - unfirtunately, we also face what I think is the loafing dock? :(. No pretty view here if you don't look straight out over the trees (ie, if you look down at all). We are in 6050 and there is scaffolding to our right at the back if the building. Need to watch how we step out onto the deck - lots of construction workers.

Is anyone arriving here soon that I could leave extra food / snacks for? We seem to have ordered way more water and other stuff than we need and I hate to just throw it all away. Any ideas?

Room 6050 is a standard view room, even though you also have a view of the woods. ;) It sounds like the scaffolding is in front of the woods view rooms of the north wing. That would mean that it has managed to make its way around the resort and it would most likely be finished on the south side and the inner courtyard areas. So people with a courtyard view room would not be seeing scaffolding. :)

I don't have any photos of the scaffolding but when we left a week ago I remember seeing scaffolding in 2 places. The whole of the front of WL had scaffolding, around and above the entrance. Then the end of the north wing (rooms 00-04 area), coming around into the courtyard a little. I think that was kind of moving from courtyard and around because we were there 2 weeks and on our first day we headed from Roaring Forks down the corridor planning to use the door right at the end to go to the boat dock. But the door was blocked. When we went past it outside, there was scaffolding all around that area. At that time, there was no scaffolding over the 00-04 area, but a few days later there was, so it seemed that they were working their way along the courtyard and around the end of the building.

We particularly noticed because although this time we were staying in VWL, when we stay at WL the 00-04 room area is our first choice. I don't know if the rooms behind the scaffolding were in use or not but suspect they were otherwise it would be a large block of rooms to have unavailable at a busy time. Each time we went to the boat dock we commented on the scaffolding being in front of 'our usual' room, and that fact that it was so noisy. It sounded like they were sandblasting, it was a constant heavy noise, far more intrusive than anything we heard during the pool construction work last October when we stayed in that room area.

During our recent stay at VWL I spotted the rooms I'd read about which it is rumoured may be being converted into DVC. They are in the south wing, ground floor, looking towards VWL. I think there are 7 of them. They can be identified because there's no patio furniture outside them and the curtains are always closed. On weekdays we saw workmen going in and out, and sometimes the grassed area in front was closed off and work vehicles parked there. But evenings and weekends it was always left clear. During at least some of our visit there were guests in the adjoining rooms, to the right and above, and I suspect they may have heard construction noise.

One night they left the lights on and I ventured up to take these photos. The curtains were still closed so the pictures aren't very good I'm afraid, but if you kind of squint you can make some things out!

This first one is the best. You can see a room entrance door at the back on the right. If you look along to the left you can just see the doorframe of the entrance door to the next room - most of the wall between 2 rooms has been removed. If I remember rightly, it looked as if 3 rooms had been knocked into one. The black line is the middle of the patio doors.

Next photo is the same room but looking in towards the right. You can't see it clearly but the wall to the right has been knocked through into the next room.

I can't remember if this was the same room or a different one - sorry but I was convinced Security was about to appear and tell me off so I didn't hang around long! But I think it was a different room.

In this photo you can see 2 entrance doors, that it has been at least 2 separate rooms but the wall removed inbetween.

Couldn't resist this final one although it isn't very clear - it's the plans for whatever work is being undertaken. I couldn't make anything out unfortunately. Only afterwards did DH say we should have tried the door - perhaps they'd left it open as well as the lights on!

Even before I could see into the rooms that night, I'd been looking and wondering about the construction. VWL DVC studios are larger than a standard WL room, so if they were converted 1:1 then the new studios would be smaller. So I wondered if they're looking to convert 3 standard rooms into 2 studios. But I don't know how that would work outside because of the stonework. Patio doors could be removed and re-sited but where those rooms are, outside there are stonework features which are part of WL and I don't think they could be altered.

Anyway, I thought people might be interested to see these photos. I just wish they were clearer.

Oh that looks though they are staging a "show bungalow 1500 sq ft" to me. Thanks for sharing it looks very interesting ,:worship:very agent Perry the Platypus of you to grab these images :worship:
