Disney's Ski Resort Info. Request...

I need information on Disney's Mineral King Ski Resort. I am writing up an article on the subject and need all the information I can get. I'm sure some people on here are pretty knowledgable on the subject. Also, if anyone has pictures of either the concept artwork or especially a concept logo (if one exists) that would be helpful. I've tried to find information on the internet via google, but it's difficult sorting it out. Much of the information I'm finding is also the same.

I had no idea that Disney had a ski resort. I'm going to move this to our resorts board for you. Hopefully the experts there will have some advice to share with you.

Everyone - this article direct from "Disney News" magazine in 1969 gives the best description of the unbuilt resort:

That is the most detailed information I've gathered so far. I'm looking for some better images/concept art if I can find it. I know the Imagineering book refers to it briefly and has an image.

What about Disney's adventure vacations. I saw on the Travel Board-someone volunteered and got accepted by Disney to do the Cowboy thing out in Wyoming. They stayed at a resort that was like the Wilderness Lodge.

I am shocked I saw this thread, because believe it or not, I know where the resort actually ended up....

It lies in the answer to a trivia question that was asked of our group during the Wishes Cruise the other night.

Question: What is the only MK Resort that was not opened at the same time the MK did?

Answer: Wilderness Lodge

At some point Walt Disney wanted to open a themed ski lodge in the late '60's and plans were drawn up for resorts. For whatever reason, the whole idea was scrapped. Years later, when they were looking to build another MK Resort they pulled out these same plans (which was the Wilderness Lodge) and it was built. There is also a "hidden bear" in the resort that can be seen from the lake that our captain pointed out to us....very cool!

Wait, isn't Grand Floridian considered a MK resort? It wasn't open until 1988.
