Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

Anyone here now that wants most of a case of Aquafina water? We bought 2 cases and only just now finnished one and checkout in the AM. We'll probably grab 4 bottles out of the case, so if anyone wants the other 20 they are yours!

How long is it? 3 feet, 5 feet?

Pretty much the whole length of the wall in the vanity area:

You'd fit at least four of those shoe/etc hanging shelf units in I would have though.

Wooohooo booked fp+ today.
One step closer to enjoyment!

It was easier then expected to get good times being a holiday week and all.
Check in day we are going to hit DS and eat/quest. Hope to enjoy the boat ride for that.

I am so excited ...we were booked at CBR where we always stay but switched due to th Renovations there and I am now so very excited. We have a royal room standard view booked and I will ask for not a disabilities access room based on what I have read here. Is one building nicer than the other ... I know the rooms will be exactly the same inside. Also if you are placed near an elevator ... We don't need one ... Are they noisy In your room?
We are from the UK and staying for 13 nights after touring on a road trip taking in Atlanta, Alabama, Nashville, St Louis, Memphis, Natchez, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. We are staying in two plantations as part of the trip so staying in Riverside is totally in keeping and the highlight at the end. It will also be the first time in 13 visits we will ever see it decorated for Christmas. I feel like I am going To burst
That sounds like a wonderful trip!

Do they still have the cajun camp fire or whatever? That's one of the things we were looking forward to. But I don't see it mentioned on the recreational calendar.

If they have it, where is it? Can I bring my own supplies or do I have to buy Disney's?

Campfires are all temporarily discontinued due to dangerously dry conditions in Florida. If/when the campfires return (it's located on the island near feature pool), marshmallows and sticks are included for free. If you want s'mores, you can buy kits or bring your own.

...Also if you are placed near an elevator ...

If I'm not mistaken, there are no elevators at POR since the buildings are only two floors. I would assume all the accessible rooms are on the first floor.

You'll love POR; you may not want to go back to CBR.

The mansion buildings are 3 floors in the centre sections, and do have elevators.. The outer wings are two storeys and do not.

Checking in today, don't have my room number but just saw my category was changed from Standard View to

River WChrAcc Tub OptHr 2Q

I realize it means it is wheelchair accessible but any idea what it might look like or where it would be?
We really don't care where we end up, but now I'm intrigued!

Looks like you may get River view . They can be in either the Mansion or Bayou buildings

We'll be staying at POR in October. I booked a Royal Room, but now I'm a little worried about the bus stops. It looks like the bus stops nearest the RR's are the last ones to be picked up! Is this usually a problem? Thanks!

East depot is the 3rd stop, so you should be fine (except to DS, but those busses usually aren't packed). Either you'll stop at South after you, or you'll head straight to MK if it's a time when South gets it's own bus.

Edited because I got East and West mixed up.

My husband and I are planning our first trip without our kids. I'm excited, I didn't think I'd be able to go without them. My children are adults now, but we've taken them on our trips up until now. I would like to know how the River Roost Lounge is. We'd like to stop in. Thanks :)

Other way around - Buses while we were there for the last two weeks were doing either South - West - North - East - South (again) and then off to their destination, or they were skipping the first South and starting at the West..

Ooop! I got East and West backwards in my post.

I wrote it as if West was the bus stop near the royal rooms. It is east.

I edited my post to correct it.

Thought we were going to stay at POFQ but just snagged a better rate for POR so we switched! First time at POR, DH & I for our 15th anniversary plus going to enjoy the DIS Anniversary events at the same time! We stayed at BCV & CR with the kids over February break, but POR has always been on my radar for a place I wanted to try. For the price difference between POR & Boardwallk, DH said we can certainly handle the buses, especially because it's just us! SO excited!

Room requests (using Touring Plans) suggestions? We have a garden room reservation, don't need a murphy bed, planning to go to Disney Springs one day and all Disney transportation.

Buses have been doing West-North-East-South this week. We are near West, so that has been very convienent.
