Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

Hi yall!
I got an email saying I may be able to bypass the check in desk. It says I can go straight to the room or park-
if I wanted to go to a park before the room, do the park buses pick up at the check in building? Or do I need to go somewhere else in the resort

Hoping I'll have luck with this question here.
I'm hoping to send a prime pantry box to POR before my trip on the 29th but I'm having issues on how to format the shipping address :confused3
It's formatted so that the actual shipping address is to be used on the same line as the c/o name?
So where would I put 1251 Riverside drive and where would I put C/O Port Orleans Riverside Front Desk?
Also where would I put the arrival date and/or reservation number?
I've attached a screenshot of the format

I feel so silly having to ask. Thank you in advance!!

Full name = "Firstname Lastname (GUEST, arrives Sep 29)
Address 1 = "Disney's Port Orleans Resort RIVERSIDE"
Address 2 = "1251 Riverside Drive"
etc.

The South Depot is at the main building. Refer to the resort map at the beginning of the thread.

Finally at airport (2 hour drive) another 8 hours and we'll be in Florida. Tonight we have a room only reservation since we're getting in so late. Tomorrow we start a week with free dining plan. Have a garden room booked for both.
Faxed in my room request on Friday. Asked for a room closet to the main pool and ground floor (bad knees).got a text already saying room is ready.
Alligator Bayou building 38
Your room location: 2nd Floor 3840
I've never been to Port Orleans before so I have no idea if this is a good location or not. Do you think I'll be moved tomorrow or did this pretty much meet my criteria. Thanks!

Check the map in the first post of this thread.

I did but as I said I've never been to the resort so I don't really know if it's closer than it looks or farther than looks. And from the map I'm inclined to think none of my requests were met but I'm an optimist and hoping I'm wrong

It's not bad for walking to the main pool, although some of the rooms in Magnolia Terrace would be a touch closer, however it is on the upper floor. I'd go via the front desk and ask if they've got anything on the ground floor as close to the pool area (what have you got to lose?)

3840 would be in the middle of this building (just along a corridor right in the centre), and the walkway over to the main pool island would be a little to the left of the photographer:

Hi all! So with 9 days left I just switched over to POR from CBR. Was just told bridge and children's splash area were closed for refurb and wasn't too happy about that. Have stayed at POR before for a few nights and we were in AB 18 I believe. Loved the location but I know that is a preferred building and we booked standard. Definitely need a ground floor room as I am traveling solo with my two sons and have a stroller. Want to fax a request next week but was wondering your input on where I should request. Basically want to be close to main building and bus stop. Would AB 16 be a close location? What would you request? Thanks!

I would request what I bolded. It's better to be general than to request a specific building.

This. I've always heard that you should tell them exactly what you need. That way, if the building/room you want isn't available, they can help you find exactly what you need.

Putting notes on my room reservation And faxing in my request didn't do me any good. Even 30 minutes at front desk got me further from main pool but at least ground level. Over 12 hours traveling and no food I'm tired and cranky. Hopefully tomorrow is better day.

Hi. We are checking into POR for the first time next week -- there will be two families and two rooms. We have preferred rooms but are there any buildings that are better than others to request? Any other things we should be thinking about room-wise?

It depends on what you want. Some people want a ground floor room so they don't have to deal with elevators or stairs. Some people want top floor so they don't have to worry about people stomping around like elephants above them. Some people like a corner room for the extra window.

Are the bus stops and the food court fairly close to all of the preferred buildings? A corner room would be nice but proximity to transport and food is more a priority for us.

Thanks! For the feedback planning on faxing my requests on Tuesday, we arrive Saturday the 19th. One more question, if I am shipping a package to the resort with baby supplies do you think sending it out Monday will have it there by Saturday? Being shipped from philadelphia. Thanks!

Yes they are located in AB 14 15 18 and 27. All clost to both. Building 14 is the closest.

Well I finally booked our December 12 to 19th trip this morning!!!:santa:
We were going in January but I really love Disney during the holidays so took a peak to see if there were any rooms left under the RO discount. I was surprised to see there were Standard rooms left with the Fall discount at both POR and POFQ since it had been out a little while. Usually the Standard rooms get snapped up pretty quickly with any kind of discount.

I debated back and forth between POFQ and POR all night last night. I do prefer the ambiance and theme at POR much more, but the guarantee of not being overly far from the food court or main building with POFQ was a draw. In the end we went with what we know we love and picked POR. I will call in and add a room request and try a fax when the time comes. We really hope to be in an Alligator Bayou room this time and close-ish to the main building.

This will be our third stay at POR (last two were early 2010 and early 2013). I just can't wait to go back and had to share my excitement somewhere. I figured this was the best place ;).
