We plan on checking in early and hanging out by the pool until our room is ready. Do they have a place to change by the pool with lockers like at CSR?

Yes they do in the Main Pool. (Ol' Man Island)

There are bathrooms by the quiet pools, but not sure about lockers.

Does POR have ramps to the 1st floor of each building? DW has foot issues which flared up today. If it doesn't improve she may need a scooter for our trip.

We are booked in September for free dining. We just decided today that we would like to come down a day earlier. (Thanks southwest birthday sale!). Currently, there aren't any free dining eligible rooms available at POR. What are the chances that a Thursday mid-month would open up so that we don't have to park hop and can get another day of free dining?

Yes, there is step-free access to all the buildings, but sometimes you have to go a bit of a way around to find the best route.

We are booked in September for free dining. We just decided today that we would like to come down a day earlier. (Thanks southwest birthday sale!). Once the rooms that have been assigned for free dining have all been taken, it's unlikely more will come up unless they find themselves well under their expected booking levels (which is rare at Port Orleans). I'd just go ahead and book the normal extra day anyway, and keep checking every so often in case something comes up within the offer that you can switch to.

Depends, if talking about taking pics out front on the outside of ticket stalls yeah you'll have some time. If your wanting the empty park pics in the park you better get there earlier or you'll have a line of 100+ people in front of you. I think we usually try to be at the bus stop at 6:30 and that puts us really close to the front of the line to hit the photo CM's without people in the picture.

So we are to "check in" today and waiting for our text saying our room is available. We have payed for a pool view and all our emails say pool view but this morning when I was checking our MDE app, it now says garden view. Has this happened to anyone or should I be concerned? We made some building/floor request...that wouldn't have messed things up, would it? I just want our check in day and our first experience with the magic bands/MDE to go smoothly!

When you get your text with your room number, check its location on my building floorplan maps at http://www.portorleans.org/floorplans.php. You're looking for a light blue coloured room. If not, visit the front desk first and get them to find out what's happened and re-allocate your room.

I think we are planning a December 2016 trip and am 99.99% sure we're going with POR, probably a Royal Room. I'd like to go ahead and book next week so we have a long time to pay on it, however we're expecting a new baby in January so obviously I don't know enough to add our little surprise to the reservation. If I go ahead and book with just the 3 of us, is it a huge pain to modify the reservation to 4 once the baby is born? Is that something I could do online or would I need to call and do it? I know it's super far in advance but I'm a Type A planner .

We're debating between this resort and AKL. We've never stayed Deluxe and it's on my bucket list, but this resort just looks so calm and quiet and relaxing and my huband's two requirements are decent food options and a less crowded feeling so I really think this resort fits our needs. Plus we used to travel to New Orleans a lot and love the atmosphere.

I would just book the room for 4 with the baby listed as Baby Your Last Name, that's what we did for our August stay and we were able to change the name once we picked one... We're still waiting on our 4 days overdue baby boy!

I do, we just decided the other day we would go ahead and book for next year and I'd rather book the package now instead of room only and add the package later. I think the 499 days is room only, correct?

You can book packages for 2016 starting on Monday 6/22... It should be no issue having a 4th added to your reservation later, but you will more than likely have to call to have them added.

So excited Leaving in 4 days to spend 9 days at The World!!! Can't wait to see the royal guest rooms. We were supposed to stay in them when they first opened but got upgraded because they weren't ready.
We will be celebrating our 15th anniversary and my aunt and uncles 45th on the same day.
