If you go to the first part of this thread there's tons of information. Also check out www.portorleans.org. Most of your questions and lots of other ones can be answered there. POR is our little "home away from home". Have fun!!

Does anyone know if this hotel and others around disney offer WIFI and if so the costs?
There is wifi at all of the disney resorts, at no extra cost! We actually thought the wifi connection was great at both POR and POFQ.

The Royal Rooms are my absolute favorite and to me, it is worth the extra cost to stay in that section. I love the decor of the rooms and the location of building 90, Oak Manor. It was only a 2-3 minute walk to the foodcourt and south depot from the foot bridge. The grounds are so pretty and relaxing. The rooms were very elegant and comfortable.

I just booked a fairly last minute POR RR for this coming July. I've been reading all of the posts (well, most :)) on this forum and just wanted to say how appreciative I am for all the great information here. I think my DD (5) is going to love it. Looking forward to our second trip to WDW and our first time on property!!!

Does anyone know of anyone on these boards that has stayed at por and written trip reports about those trips? Can't find any very quickly.

Walt Disney World this morning released the 2016 Room and Package Rates for resort hotels. Bookings can now be made via the website or telephone booking line up to the regular 499 day advance limit (meaning the cut-off is currently 3 November 2016).

I'm excited about a spur of the moment decision I just made about our POR reservation to surprise my DH. Since I can't share with him, figured I'd come share my excitement with fellow POR lovers! :)

Last year DH and I spent our honeymoon in a preferred building (building 18 actually), and it was completely magical. DH completely fell in love with POR... We toured a bunch of deluxe resorts during our trip and every time DH said "that was beautiful but I def like our resort better!".

We booked a bounceback for our 1st anniversary trip and decided to do a standard view room because building location wasn't important to us so long as we were back in a room at POR again. Today I decided to call and switch our reservation to preferred. Figure it'll be a fun surprise for DH as we walk to our room and he realizes we are staying in the same area as we did for our honeymoon.

Happy planning (and counting down) yall! :)

I would just book the room for 4 with the baby listed as Baby Your Last Name, that's what we did for our August stay and we were able to change the name once we picked one... We're still waiting on our 4 days overdue baby boy!

Did your baby come yet? We just had our baby boy yesterday but he was only one day overdue. We are going in September so I booked ours for a family of 6 (our new family size) online and put in the name as "baby". We didn't know the gender yet. Now I am going to try and update the name online, not sure if I can.

I booked today we are staying at POR for the first time in June 2016! Yep, we have a very long wait! Can't wait. This will be the kids second trip it will be the DH and I 4th trip. We were supposed to stay in 2001 for our honeymoon, when PO was still Dixie Landings, but we were moved due to renovations and ended up at CSR.

He did on Friday 5 days late and 9lbs 9ozs! We weren't expecting a monster! I was able to change Arthur's name on our reservation even though we booked through a travel agent.

After a lot (!) of researching and typing, the full 2016 price structure for all room categories is now listed on my Room Rates page.

I still have no idea why French Quarter's Garden View rooms are currently showing as cheaper than Standard View rooms for most dates. It could be an error within Disney's pricing systems which will be rectified at some point, or it could be the intended rate. Whichever, it's currently a bit of a bargain!

I noticed it too although I have seen it before and then the room rates return to normal. I will be a few days in Orlando on January to visit a cousin an decided to go 2 days earlier to Disney. Just booked the Garden view with the lower rate!!!
