Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

It has definitely changed since I did our check in last month for the 26th. I just went in to take a look at the new choices and I keep getting an error screen that I have no reservations elegible for online check in at this time. Hopefully just a glitch. I'll have to check back later.

Yup. Same here with the error. I thought it was just because I am 7 days away from going, but it looks like it might be because they switched things and our 'old' selections don't exist.

I saw a general thread on the board that it is down for more people. Some saying they were trying to start a new online check in.

Thanks, I'll have a chat about these with the room inventory manager. I see King Bed and 2 x Queen Beds are listed as requests too, very strange.

Andre

I thought that was a little strange also. I'm assuming we will get Garden view and 2 queen beds without specifically requesting them, since we booked a garden view and there are 4 in our party.

Just joined Disboards and haven't stayed at Riverside since 2011. We are a party of 5 and have always gotten a roll away bed here. Is it true they no longer offer roll away beds? We are 5 adults and my youngest is 5'7. He will not fit on the trundle bed in AB.

I got the same thing when I tried yesterday. I was 12 days out when I tried. After reading here I thought I'd just try to "edit" and see if I had any other options from when i first checked in

Yes, trundle beds are no longer offered, it is a pull down Murphy bed. If your youngest is 5'7 then they will not fit on it comfortably. More info here: http://**************.net/2012/11/0...alligator-bayou-rooms-port-orleans-riverside/

(Sorry Andre, I had trouble accessing POR.org to get the info there.)

Just back from a five night stay at Riverside in a Royal Room Garden View Room 9590. The room was beautiful. My Princess, age 23 :cutie:, adored the theming!
But, I did NOT like the location. Too much of a walk to the food court and bus. There really needs to be another bus stop for Parterre Place. I can't imagine what a mess it would be to get from transportation to the room in a downpour! The quiet pool was nice, but I think it's silly to have to walk to the main pool to get towels. It was nice that a little snack truck came by mid day for some beverages and light snacks. I'd also like to see more food options in the lounge and breakfast in Boatwrights.

All in all, the resort is lovely, just too spread out. Of the two Port Orleans properties, I prefer French Quarter. :jester:

Does anyone know what buildings you can potentially be in if you select pool view (on the non mansion side- I forget what that side is called)

I just checked again and the inline check-in system is back up. My previous request (ground floor) is still in there, but as others have mentioned some of the other selections make no sense for my booking type (royal room)

Mine is there as well, and while I could select some weird stuff, IE - King bed for a 5 person stay, all of my selections were there. (I only requested a corner room).

I like the way it looks now in comparison to the way it looked before, but no major issues with anything overall with either look to be honest. :)

I have been able to update my original request to a mansion area room as I have no wish to be stared at by a bunch of fish from the shower curtain during my holiday !

Thank you. I don't know what we're going to do. I'm going to call the resort.

My family prefers Standard room over others because it is closer to bus stops and parking lot. Started last summer, I wasn't able to book standard with my Bounce Back and booked Garden View. I asked for a "downgrade" to Standard in building 16 or 17 last year, and got a GV at building 17. I was happy with the building assignment. This summer, I want to try and request a "downgrade" again.

Andre: Does the team ever grant a downgrade request? Or I better off request the block of GV that is closing to the lot.
