Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS RIVERSIDE Resort

We arrive at POR tomorrow night. Glad the footbridge is open. Excited to see what room we get placed in. I didn't distinguish AB or Mansions in my room request. I just asked for close proximity to the food court. Can already tell I won't be able to sleep tonight. I guess I better go pack.

Have a great time!! You'll have to let us know how it was!!!

Enjoy your vacation.....and enjoy your sleepless night before.....nothing like it! :yay:

My friend's DD's dance group is booked at POR 3rd week of April. (Also, i can't remember the last time I stayed at POR when there wasn't a high school group of some sort - i.e., it isn't just the large groups that have websites like Pop, cheer groups that could be at POR en masse.) HTH.

Ok. Thank you! Did you have to plan around them (busses, food, etc.) or were they at ESPN Sports most of the time?

Has anyone put a short adult on the Murphy bed? I'm 5'2". Would I be too tall?

One week from today we will be at our happy place - POR & WDW absolutely can't wait. We are celebrating my DH's 70th bday. At least dreaming about it will get me through this 9 1/2 work day!!

My DD was over 5'2" when she last slept on one and was fine, but she is fairly slim and does tend to sleep a bit curled up anyway.

Andre

It's only my boys and I going. They're 21 (twins) and are both over 6 feet tall. They can share a queen bed, have done so every time we travel. But if I was actually comfortable on the Murphy bed, I wouldn't have an issue sleeping on it and giving them each a queen bed. BUT I wouldn't do it if it wasn't comfortable. No way.

I'll give it a try. I have read some reports that say it's 63 inches long and some say 66 inches

And at least the barriers and gates across the guest walkways are reasonably themed, even if the rest of the fencing is a bit more 'utilitarian':

Welcome to Stalag Riverside. :)

Many many thanks to Andre and all of the wonderful people who have contributed to this thread. My family is getting very excited for our upcoming stay at POR June 5th-9th!!! POR is our middle stop on a 3-way split vacation...doing CBR first for 1 night, then POR, then Contemporary for our last 4 nights. Can't wait to experience POR, it looks like such a beautiful resort!!

Thank you so much for this great thread about POR. We will be there in 38 days celebrating our 10 year anniversary!!:yay: We have a garden view room reserved and I was thinking of requesting building 16. Would that be a good choice or does anyone have any other suggestions?? Thanks!

Let us know where you ended up! ....when you have time, of coarse!

Thank you Andre for your constant updates here and your site! We're arriving March 9th and I'm so happy that the pool at POR is on schedule. I think my boys will definitely like to play in the POFQ water area too so I'll keep my fingers crossed that there are no more delays there.

Sooooo excited! Our family will be at POR in 33 days! This is our first time there, my DH stayed at POFQ many years ago and our last WDW vacation we stayed at AoA.

Any quick tips on room requests before I check in online? We booked a Garden View room - we had 5 people on the original booking but had to cancel one (foster daughter...long story).

Another question -- Is there visibility for any fireworks on the boat route from POR to Disney Springs? Just wondering if there's a particular time we should try to catch the boat! Thanks!

I will be booking our next trip to Riverside in the next couple of days. We stayed last year in a river view room, bldg 14 and we absolutely loved it! I am contemplating a river view royal room. It is a bit pricier over the course of 8 nights. So I am just going back and forth between a regular river view room, and a river view royal room. We LOVED our location at bldg 14, however I know that if I book a river view again, there is no guarantee I will once again be in bldg 14. We didn't walk the path to the other 2 bldg that offer the river view room. How far of a walk to the main bldg is it from those bldgs? It seems that it would be maybe a 5 minute walk to the main bldg from the river view royal rooms?

Any input is greatly appreciated :) Thank you!
