Resort Thread Disney's PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER Resort

Staying 3 nights here for the first time at the end of the month with my BF and I'm pretty excited! The AP/Summer discount is what made me choose this resort for our next trip as this isn't a resort I've really paid much attention to before. It looks beautiful, however and it's nice to try new things.

We have been to Disney 5 times and 3 of those 5 trips stayed at POFQ. We love it there, small, quiet, quaint. especially after a busy park day.
Our next trip and probably our last due to my retirement at the end of 2023 (financially Disney will sadly be at the bottom of the priority list) we are staying at POFQ for 8 nights in Oct 2023
I don't think you will be disappointed in the resort.

Hi Everyone! This will be our first time stay at POFQ! We are so excited! We always stay at POP but decided to switch it up. I have read through almost all of the thread but I just had a quick question. Does POFQ have a toaster? Hot water dispenser? My DH and I like to have a quick breakfast before we head out. We usually wake up and go fill our refillable mugs with coffee, toast some bagels or make some oatmeal (sometimes grab something from the food court) and head back to the room to get ready. I know POP has them but our last trip they were not accessible still (May 2021). Thought I would make sure before planning a grocery order. I looked up pictures and thought I saw them, but figured best to ask the experts! Thank you!
we have stayed there several times, the last was 2019 and we had a coffee maker, small fridge, no toaster (except in the food court)

Here now; can confirm there is a microwave, hot water dispenser (next to coffee) and toaster!

No - these items are located in the Food Court. The rooms continue to have only a beverage cooler, and a pod-style coffee maker.
So can I bring my K-cups? We've been staying at the values lately and all they have is the coffee makers that take things that look like tea bags.

Our room didn’t have a toaster. We don’t drink coffee or tea, but I would think you could just heat water for oatmeal in the hot beverage “maker”.

The coffee makers in the rooms do not use K cups, they use the “tea bag” looking filters.

We just returned today and really no matter what building you stay in, you’re not far from the food court. We stayed in Bldg. 3, and I walked to the food court every morning at 6:00. 3 minute walk to refill my mug with coffee.

My parents booked a family trip next year where we will be staying at French Quarter. How is it here? My husband, daughter and I have only stayed at the Deluxes (WL x2, BC, and Polynesian). How does it compare? Is it that much of a difference ?

We just returned from a week long stay at POFQ. Like you, we’ve always stayed at deluxe resorts. However, we really couldn’t justify paying WDW deluxe prices.

We LOVED POFQ !!! It’s a small resort, very quiet, and lovely grounds. Bus transportation was good and with a couple of exceptions, on time. Scat Cat’s is a fun, late night lounge with great live music.

Also, what’s not love about fresh, warm beignets ❤️❤️

Thank you. That’s good to hear. We picked POFQ over Caribbean beach because of the smaller size. Did you ever take the boat to Disney springs?

We usually stay deluxe as well--usually AKL savanna view--but with no discounts and sometimes with discounts, AKL has become super pricey.

So in May we stayed at POFQ. I hadn't stayed there in years but had positive memories of it and we had a great trip. Lovely room, gorgeous grounds, nice food court, love the boat to Disney Springs, and POFQ at the time was sharing buses with POR only after 11 a.m. and, anyway, it's the first stop on the bus in both directions.

As a bonus, we were there for Mardi Gras (totally unintended) and that was super fun.

How much did we like it? We just booked a trip for this December.

And of course . . . beignets. Yum.

Thank you!!

Sorry for the confusion.. some people thought I was asking about the rooms....lol... I meant the food court! Sorry about that. I know the rooms just have the pod coffee pot and beverage cooler, same as POP. We go to the food court in the morning for coffee with our Mugs and make breakfast we have ordered from Amazon Prime delivery.

Thanks again!

Hi! Does anyone know if Jackson Square sells motion sickness tablets? Have some I am bringing ~ Kwells ~ from UK, but just in case they don’t work. No option to try them before I leave and I HAVE to do GOTG!
Don’t drive and don’t really want to have to go out of property.
TIA

We were just there - I don't remember seeing them, but then again... I wasn't looking for them either, so...

I had intended to take pictures of everything in the shop to post here, and we were just so busy all the time on this past trip!

Having said all that... Remember that you can have Amazon drop ship to the hotel, or have DoorDash or UberEats or Instacart or similar drop some off for you at the hotel from a local store.
