I would lock it in my luggage. I now bring an iPad that fits in the safe. But when I took my laptop I put it in my locked luggage.

We used to lock it in our luggage in the hotel room. Now we just bring IPads.

I didn't get the flash drive I guess it's because I don't live in the US. They don't mail MBs to us either, they are sent to our resort to be picked up on arrival. Maybe the flash drive will be there too

Hey Andre!! Just FYI we booked 1/25-1/31 at FQ for 2014! DH wants to know if you want more pix like the ones we did at Riverside in 2012, and if there is anything specific that you want pix of?

Arriving at POFQ Monday and hoping for a wonderful relaxing trip. It's been many years since I've stayed there, any buildings or areas to avoid when they give us our room assignment? It will just be my Mom and I for 7 night. From what I remember most of the buildings seemed fairly close to everything. Just wondering if anyone has any last minute tips or advice. thanks

Sure, new pics are always good. Anything that takes your fancy really (quick snaps of Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner food menus, and other price or timetable signs, are always handy). Have a great time!

There aren't really any bad locations, but generally the best ones are in buildings 2, 4 and 5. It partly depends on what room category you booked of course. See www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php for more info and room maps. Have fun!

Nearing our online check in date... Thoughts on room requests? We have always just gone with whatever we got ... What's the difference in rooms ... POFQ looks very compact so there doesn't appear to be too much difference from one room to another? We have reservation for a garden view room - should we request something special (certain bldg or area or anything)... We've never asked for anything at check in so I have no idea about this... About how far away is the pool at POR?

Am I correct that there is only one pool at FQ? Whereas POR has a main pool and also "quiet" smaller pools that FQ guests can use too?

Correct, the POFQ pool will be closed during Feb. There is only one pool at FQ, but six over at Riverside. The distance depends on where you are located within FQ, but about ten minutes walk (or five minutes on the boat) would be a good estimate. They will also have a bus shuttle service running.

The rehab is scheduled through Feb 28, so it should open on Mar 1.

I was just looking at the menu posted on Allears for Sassagoula Floatworks, and it's showing "create your own pasta". Is this a mistake, or do they have this at the FQ now?
