Are there special activities for Mardi Gras?

Yes. There is a Cast Member parade of decorated Pergo carts at 10 am. It starts near Acadia House and proceeds in front of the mansion section of Riverside. It then crosses the bridge between the resorts and goes down the river path to French Quarter. It goes all the way to building one then moves in to resort central. The different departments of staff from both hotels decorate the carts and there is a jazz band and usually Princess Tiana. Do a YouTube search for the PO Mardi Gras parade. It is a blast. Then in the evening they have a dance party with a DJ and various specialty items for sale in the French Quarter courtyard. It runs from 6-9.

We have been to PO twice for Mardi Gras and are fortunate enough to be going for a week starting Feb. 27, staying at PO-FQ. Can't wait. Check out Andre's web page at www.portorleans.org He is the moderator of this thread and has a website with all that you want to know about the PO resorts.

No, it doesn't. The only resorts with cabanas are Yacht & Beach, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary. And Polynesian has poolside patios for rent.

I saw on a Facebook POFQ group a post by a CM that the CMs have been working on their pargo floats for months, so it sounds like there will be Mardi Gras parade.

As of when I was there the last week in January there was still no live music.

It re-started last week (4th Feb). There are sessions throughout the evening on select nights, starting at 7:30pm.
