I've just updated the individual building floorplan maps for buildings 1-4 and 6 at French Quarter, mainly to incorporate the locations of rooms which have a shower in the bathroom rather than a tub. Basically it seems that pretty-much every second-floor and third-floor room has a shower now, while the ground floor rooms are mostly bathtubs (with a few exceptions). See the map at https://www.portorleans.org/floorplans.php and click on each building for full details, where you can also see layout plans for the updated rooms.



There are a few other minor changes. Some of the Pool View rooms have now been reclassified as Garden View. Specifically, the ground floor rooms in building 2 are now all Garden View (just like they did with building 5 a few years ago). Also, on the upper floors of building 5 a few rooms that overlook the now-extended Mardi Grogs seating area have been reclassified because they no longer have views of the pool. Finally, rooms 6241 and 6341 have been switched from River View Category down to Garden View, presumably as there's a huge tree right outside them both which completely blocks the view of the river from upper floors.

I'll add details for buildings 5 and 7 as soon as they are both open, and update the downloadable PDF once all seven maps are complete and any quirks ironed out.

Of course, all of the current Booking Categories are only going to exist until the end of this year. Anyone who keeps an eye on the UK booking site, which already has all of 2026's package availability, will be aware that from 1st January 2026 there will only be THREE booking categories at Port Orleans French Quarter: Standard, King Bed, and Preferred Location. I don't know what they will be considering as Preferred Location, but I'd guess that most or all of building 4 will most likely be included, plus maybe the end segments of 2 and 5 too? And maybe some of 3? We'll have to wait and see on that one. Oh, and the omitted wording about the view types for King Beds is clearly an error, as there are rooms with king beds all around the resort (including some parking lot views).

Is only part of building 7 open (accessible to guests) or are all of the rooms open but they are still doing the odd bit of cosmetic work outside?

Hope the cheerleaders are gone by February 20th. Will be checking in at POFQ then after a stay at the Contemporary

Yes, normally a little (cast member provided) parade in the morning and some sort of evening party in the courtyard.

They have finished all of the buildings except Building 5. From what I have read they are working on Building 5 diligently. You will have no issue in May. Hope you have a great time.

We are here now. We are in building 2. We love it. The location is great, right next to the boats and the pool. If anyone has questions, please let me know. The mouse keeping could be a bit better. On our third day no one came from mouse keeping. We called and came back later, no one came again. The boat and bus service has been great.

We've had issues at AKL too. So I think it might be a WDW-wide problem. But we love POFQ, so I can forgive them for this! And the renovated rooms are gorgeous.

I don't think staffing levels are anywhere near being back at pre-COVID levels - which is presumably why room prices have decreased so much since then...? "Besides, they're tourists, what do they know?"

Just returned home from a 4 night stay at POFQ. There was lots of work ongoing in building 5. It appeared that most of the ground floor rooms were gutted; you could see into the rooms and view that they were bare. They were painting the outside of building 5 on the 3rd floor.

Thanks. We will be there next week and was wondering if it will affect the Mardi Gras parade. We like to sit by the river next to the pool and see the parade twice: once when it goes by the boatdock area and once near the resort center.
