Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

This new info about the standard rooms is a bummer since I had just recently sent my requests via touring plans and called to add them also and of course requested a standard in 60's. If only I'd known I could have requested something else. Too late now as we check in on Friday in two days.

It wouldn't hurt to call back and update requests given this information is new this week. Can't hurt to try!

Question for those of you who have been to POP within the last few months. POP is probably our favorite resort. The last time we were there they had buses going to DHS and EPCOT rain or shine even when skyliner was running. So both options. Is that not the case anymore? I am reading more and more that if the skyliner is running, buses are not an option to those two parks. Only if they shut down the skyliner for weather.

What you are hearing is correct. Buses do not run from Pop (or AoA) to DHS or Epcot when the Skyliner is running. It has been this way for a number of years now.

Some standard rooms opened up for our dates and I switched to that so we could save about $200. Since I’m paying rack rate I’m trying to save where I can. We don’t mind walking a bit more. We do it at every resort. Now to decide on a room request.

When we stay Standard we always request 1950s just because we love the Theme with the Bowling Pool,Lady and the Tramp,the "bowling shoes rack" themed shower/laundry,the way cool 50s soundtrack,etc..

There are also a few rooms with a Hourglass Lake/Skyliner/high fireworks view.

I was just on touring plans and looking at 50s lake view. I think I will request that area.

My DD stayed in 50s when she went and said she liked the location.

I just added a dining plan to April trip since I’m bring my 5 yr old niece and her plan is free seems like a great deal. I always get a refillable mug and I’ve always understood that the mugs are good for 14 days and I’ve used the same mug when I do split stays at both resorts. I know that all dining plan meals and snacks had to be used by mid night of check out day but I know I’ve used the mug at another resort for additional days.
However I just received the email confirmation for my April trip and noticed the following in small print at bottom of the dining plan info:

“All unused meals and snacks and the ability to use your Resort-refillable mug expire at midnight on your package reservation checkout date.

Can you please ask this on the dining board? You're likely to get a lot more info there as this is a more general DP question as opposed to a Pop Century question.

We bought a mug in Aug but I honestly didn't look to see what the machine said about expiry when it read my mug chip.

People in the pop Facebook are always leaving mugs for other people to use until the 14 days are up. No one has reported any issues with it

I'm almost positive that verbiage has always been there, but really just about your dining credits expiring at midnight. I'm 99.9% positive you'll be able to use your mug for length of your entire stay (both resorts).
