Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Remember sharing is caring.

My last couple few trips it has been 1 hour before park open (occasionally 1 hr 10 minutes or so). Never found there to be much of an issue with that and being in the first trench of people at the gates for either park. I mean I was first in line once at Epcot somehow coming from Pop beating out everyone from the Crescent Lake Resorts. The double line thing has been there since at least 2022. At first it was just for ECV but became a crowd management thing eventually. Priority is still given to the principle line. Doesn't bother me any since I am usually within the first 5 to 10 groups cause I wake up far too early.

Looks like Everything Pop refurbishment is almost finished. Now there will be room refurbishments. Any info on what they will be doing to the rooms?

"From late March 2025 to mid-February 2026, Guest rooms at Disney’s Pop Century Resort will undergo refurbishment. While all resort amenities will remain available, Guests may notice construction during daytime hours."

As shared on the last page, we have nothing more to go on than that announcement.

When we were there in June 2022, there was definitely only one "main" line. CMs would pull ECVs out for a second line as those people got closer to the station. The "2 lines for everyone" was new in 2024. I saw people starting to post about it a few weeks or months before our June trip that year. I know it was still one line in the mornings as late as Feb. 2024 (a friend was at AoA that month and has pictures of the line in the morning and they're definitely lined up in the Pop area) so it changed some time after that. I kept reading FB groups and message boards to see if it was still in place up until the day we arrived because it was so "new" and no one knew if it was an experiment or an official change. It worked really well when we were there for that trip. Not sure what's causing the issues now but I hope they can get it back to the efficiency of those days.

I was there November 2022, August 2023, August 2024 and December 2024. Every trip had a double line of some sort. 2022 was ECV and DAS only I believe. Every trip after that was two lines.

In the morning and later in the day you will likely share. Personally, I would not stress about the lines. We’ve been as far back as the 50’s section and boarded within 15-20 mins of when the Skyliner started running. The line is constantly moving so the line moves quite quickly. We love the Skyliner!! It’s a complete game changer!!
This morning the line was ridiculous for the Skyliner, took a solid 45 minutes from when we got in line to when we got into a cabin to get to CB to transfer. We got into the back of the line around 7:20.

So sorry this happened. It can get long at times although hopefully 45 mins is not common unless arriving right as the Skyliner opens. Do you know approx what time the Skyliner started carrying guests?

To be towards the front of the ETPE line, it's recommended to arrive at Pop's transportation (Skyliner or bus) 90 mins before ETPE begins. The Skyliner line does grow at an extremely fast rate before it begins operating for the day. It's a case of literally every minute counts.

It didn't help the CMs weren't fully loading the cabins. They weren't putting more than 4 people in a cabin unless it was a larger single group. I don't know when they started loading the cabins exactly but there wasn't any extended downtime for loading the ECV cabins or anything.1000001013.png
I marked where we joined the line at 7:20

Yes, fully loading cabins at park open and close is crucial. Guests who push against this make it more challenging to all.

As a side note, we've met the most wonderful people in line for the Skyliner and on our Skyliner rides! Many people are fresh, happy and excited first thing in the morning! One family we hung out with in line, in the Skyliner and then in line for Remy. We got along so well that we met up later in out trip to ride RotR together!

The cabins have lots of space, a group of 3 and 2 or 4 and 2, or 4 and 1 shouldn't be an issue. I don't get people. I have only ever seen it at park close at Epcot where cast members doing line management regularly announce that you'll be sharing a cabin.

The Pop/AoA line was down this morning. Not having good luck so far with it on this trip. Had to wait for a bus that took us to Caribbean Beach to get to Epcot.
Pretty crazy they made you transfer from bus to skyliner. You were already inconvenienced by the skyliner being down...they most certainly should have had buses straight to Epcot and Dhs. Hopefully your day goes smoother now.

Just returned from a quick trip. Enjoyed Pop. We usually stay at Pop each yr in Feb. and May, however this yr. it was this long weekend instead of Feb.

1) For the first time we experienced them combining parties on the skyliner for park open (this had not been our experience in the past.)

2) The ice cream section/possible new drink/coffee section is still closed in the food court.

3) The posted hrs. for the skyliner does not have them starting until 730am. During all of our President Day week trips and most, if not all of our May trips skyliner posted opening was always 7am. This week crowds were higher than either of our Feb or May trips which was a bummer with the later start time. Ppl. still line up at the same time (we were out there between 615-625 each day and were never 1st in line - somewhere between 3rd-6th party in line). The later skyliner start also means there's no way. to be one of the first 100 or so through the tapstyles. Usually when we go to Epcot, we're there early enough to be held at security before they open, however as we flew in (in skyline #2 of the day from Pop) ppl. were already streaming in, had made it through security, through the tapstyle and were in line where they first hold you for Remy/Guardians.

At DHS we're usually able to be one of the first cp families at the tapstyle, but again with the later skyliner start we were more like 10thish family in line.

3) The new morning skyliner process is a mess and could so easily be fixed it's kinda insulting they don't.
-There are kinda 2 lines now, HOWEVER there is ABSOLUTELY 0 signage to indicate that. Our first morning for the first 45 mins. everyone was lining up on the traditional "pop" side. The CMs got there a lil before 7. put poles and a rope in front of skyliner for AoA line, however said absolutely nothing to the huge line they could see etc. Most ppl. from AoA still walked across to join the large Pop line because common sense would tell you oh I see a line of ppl. and there's nothing indicating there's a different line. Then 1 family stood at the poles/rope for AoA. Lots of ppl. confused; the lady behind us kinda almost lost it (I get it at that point she'd been there for an hr., sees a huge line behind her and now. it looks like aother line is starting with 0 communication from any of the CMs). Another morning there. was already 1 family waiting at the invisible AoA line when we got into the regular line. Again 95% of the AoA ppl. walked over and joined the regular line and a few others got behind the family in the invisible line. Eventually the CMs came and put the poles/rope up, again without speaking.

Now, each morning we were there, ehen it was time to actually load the CMs told the AoA line they would have to wait a few mins. - Again one day one of the dads in that line was very confused and kept asking why they had to wait. - I have no idea when they actually started pulling from the AoA line as we were already on the skyliner, but it's just such a mess and. some simple signage would fix the issue and make the job of the cms so much easier.

4) Ride breakdowns - nothing to do with Pop, but man did rides seem to be down all over the place. On Sat. Rise and Slinky were down during Eehs (I also really dislike them having non resort guests enter the park and lined up at the lands at EEHs opening). This just really diminishes even further such a short window of a resort guest perk.

In our Epcot day; they didn't let the line start the long walk into and through the Remy que until 833am...again not a huge delay, but we've been used to them at least letting us through the. que at 815am. EEhs really needs to be an hr to really be a perk I think.

Enjoyed our trip....these were just some. notes.
So, we are staying at Pop in a few weeks. What are your thoughts about rope drop using other transportation besides the skyliner? So they are now boarding at 7:30am? Just trying to plan accordingly and thank you for the post!

Unfortunately, the issue is they don't offer busing to DHS or Epcot (only skyliner). You coukd drive/uber, however I'm unsure as to when they're opening lots for them. - A few yrs ago taking Disney transportation was by far the best way to get to the parks as early as possible.

I suppose you could always uber to Swan/Dolphin and walk to either for rope drop, but that seems excessive.

If we were at Pop and wantinf to RD; we'd just be at the skyliner by around 615 and hope for the best.

I really wish they'd go back to 7am.

To rope drop it's recommended you arrive at Pop transportation 90 mins before ETPE begins.
I agree when it comes to buses, however in our experience if we didn't show up to the skyliner until 7 (90 mins prior to early entry) we'd be pretty far back in the line (plus they start pulling from 2 lines at some point which would probably make it an even longer wait for those not showing up until 7am.)

I'm not sure what time the first ppl. are. getting in line for the skyliner, but last week we arrived between 610-620ish each day and were never the first cpl. families...always somewhere between 4th-6th/7th party in line. The 7am arrivals were back down the bridge and around the corner (going towards 60s/50s.)

I’m not disagreeing re Skyliner timing but for our family, getting up at 5AM after getting back to the resort late each night just wouldn’t work. We’re okay being back a couple of hundred for an extra hour of sleep.

This is why I go to the parks later in the morning and stay until close😀

Ditto
Sooooo glad we do not RD anymore, leisurely role in around 9:30 - 10:00, stay until after close and we still get in everything we wanted. Our trips have been much more relaxing:)
With waiting in the skyliner lines for so long and not getting to the park early enough, I would take POP off your resort lists because of all the hassles;);)
