Resort Thread Disney's POP CENTURY Resort

Well that explains quite a lot actually. Does your Friday happen to be on Aug. 9th or one of the later Fridays in August. No need to be specific just a Yes or No?

These dates would align with the MSSHP party nights and would explain why Disney is trying to get you to move and free up a Friday night booking. It is also odd that you got a standalone (1) day booking on a Friday night.

You can always ride the Sassagoula river boats during your visit to DS. Maybe a trip from DS to POR for a visit to Scat Cats and beignets.

Dave
Not the 9th, but a later one. I bet that has something to do with it. We will definitely be riding up (or down?) the Sassagoula at some point - we have a few non-park days built into our trip :)

I wonder if they are trying to decrease capacity some due to the food court being renovated during that time. Maybe call and ask if they would extend the offer to include the other 7 days (if you’re interested), never hurts to ask.

That was the other thing I was thinking of - with the food court being limited, maybe looking to decrease capacity. I am going to sit and wait a few days and see if anything comes for the package part, otherwise, I might reach out like you said :)

I appreciate this board!

Now, if anyone could help my old brain understand all the changes since I was there in 2019 - I would be set! G+, LL, etc. all are kind of blowing my mind, ha!

Yes, they are offering POR, CSR, or AoA for an additional 20 for that one night. And then back to Pop. We love Pop, love the Skyliner, etc. But we would definitely consider moving to a mod or deluxe for the extent of our stay if it was 20/night for the package
"Additional" is not how I read it but, I would probably go for it since I've never stayed at either. You'll be in that area to start off.

Definitely NO on moving entire package to the moderates, too much of a learning curve for me with a new resort.

We have stayed at, or spent a large amount of time at, every resort on property, so I am comfortable with moving if "the price is right". I do love the skyliner, though, so it would make me pause depending on the offer!

I wouldn't change just for the 1 night. It's not worth the inconvenience...now if they were offering a deluxe for the 1 night and we didn't have plans we would, but not for a moderate. I will also say it kinda rubs me the wrong way that they're asking you to move AND pay $20 for it. - Lol...it just seems tacky to me.

Much rather have them concentrate on having the Skyliner information on the app, like when it's down etc.

We just got back from a stay at AoA (and one night at Pop because we arrived at DW earlier than expected). I noticed that the app did indicate when Skyliner was down. It just indicated the bus arrival time for DHS/EP instead of saying "Skyliner Available". I only noticed it the last day we were there as we were walking to the bus stop at the resort and forgot to check to see if it showed information once we got to a park.

December 21 we will not get to pop until around 1:30 am. We will be paying for the room starting December 20. Is there something we would do to let them know we will not get in until the next morning at 1:30 am

You should call them and let them know your plans. I might be all wrong but I would guess if you will not get there till 1:30 AM they will say wait till December 21 and check in is at 3 o’clock or check in on December 20 and you can have your room right away. Some thing else I thought of … if you are supposed to check in on Dec.20 and you don't let them know you might be considered a no-show for that day.. they might go ahead and charge you anyway. If you are still planning on checking in when you arrive I would call them ahead of time and give them a heads up so you don't lose your your room. Hope this helps!

May I ask, where on MDE does it show bus arrival times? Thank! 😊

I'm going off memory here since we checked out of our hotel on Sunday and I can't see that information anymore. I think I just clicked on our resort/reservation and then there were a few "boxes/options" right under the resort name. I remember I had to swipe left a little bit to be able to see the "transportation" box/option. When clicked on that, it listed the parks and DS and indicated what time the next bus would be arriving at the resort and if the Skyliner was running it said "Skyliner available" and if it wasn't, the next bus arrival time for that park.

Maybe someone who's there right now and has access to the info can confirm or correct this info.

Next question - we are hoping to do only carryon for our trip and, in an effort to cut space, I am hoping to buy our toiletries there (or have them delivered).

Can anyone tell me if Everything Pop still sells toothpaste, lotion, sunscreen, etc. And do the rooms still come with the squirt body wash/shampoo?

And, finally, are we still able to have grocery delivery or Amazon delivery? Do I need to be there to accept, etc.?

We used to go 3x a year until 2019 and I knew everything. Now - it feels like this is my first time, ha!

Purchase a size that TSA allows

Yes but choices are limited, price I would expect to be higher

Yes, being there depends on what you order (alcohol, cold stuff). Walmart delivery may be a choice - they would also have everything (see above list)

Thanks! I don't need big size or a specific brand, I just don't want to have to carry it, at all. We are hoping to each only need a backpack. And since my kid is a giant, the less room taken up by "stuff" leaves more room for his size 15 shoes and clothes :)

Maybe I will just do an Amazon order to be delivered on our arrival day with a bunch of toiletries and snacks. Thank you!

I have had stuff delivered from: Walmart, Amazon, Instacart and Garden Grocer - all was well. If you have refrigerated items, Bell Services will store them for you to keep them fresh. I usually just call and ask them to deliver to my room when I am back.

Does the resort charge you for this? I have heard others mention they have groceries delivered. We haven't needed that yet. However, on our last trip we had a small Amazon box delivered that required a signature. I couldn't beat the driver back to the resort, so Pop "signed" for me and I picked it up at the front desk (not Bell Services). They let me know there was a $6 fee. No biggie, was just wondering if that's per order/per package etc.

It is a Friday :) No parks that day - doing DS, which is they ONLY reason I would consider moving to POR for that one night - I love that boat ride :)

Just was not sure if there was jostling going on where I should expect they will try and move our package nights, too..
Interesting my offer would come out $44 per night….

It’s per delivery. So you get charged $6 if they accept/hold your grocery order.

Just FYI we arrived at 1:30 am the calendar day after our reservation started. It was no problem at all. If I remember it right, there may have been something on the app where we entered our flight info but I don’t recall for sure. Anyway, they didn’t even bat an eye. Only problem was the place was dead quiet (pretty amazing), and absolutely nothing is open at that hour and I was starving!! Ordered McDonald’s via door dash thankfully and got to bed around 2:45 am.
