We found the Pop buses to be very convenient especially when departing from Pop in the morning. When leaving early in the morning (before 7:30 AM for a 9 AM park opening), there was hardly any wait at all for the bus. It got busier later in the morning. Returning from the parks, we waited longer but usually no more than 15-20 minutes especially if we avoided leaving right at park closing. Also, at some of the parks, the Pop bus bay is the farthest away from the gates.

I've heard that it can take FOREVER to get to the parks when you take the bus. We wanna be there for rope drop every single day. Are they not as bad as (what seems like) all the blogs, vlogs, videos, articles, etc. say? I know the monorail and such can get just as busy at times, but every time we've been, we've gotten to the parks pretty darn fast and early with the monorail (or we just drove, but I won't have a car this time).
The buses really aren't as bad as everyone makes them seem. If you plan to be at rope drop every day, get to the bus stop at least an hour before the park opens and you'll have no trouble at all. At park close, we walk in the shops a bit because they stay open after the park closes. That gives the bus lines a chance to shorten.

The longest ride is to Magic Kingdom and is about 17-19 minutes.

In our experience, no. Every single resort and mode of transportation can, and does, have horrible experiences. People very rarely post about the great experiences which heavily outnumber the bad.

I know the monorail and such can get just as busy at times, but every time we've been, we've gotten to the parks pretty darn fast and early with the monorail (or we just drove, but I won't have a car this time).

Out of our 21 nights total at Pop our worst bus experience was a 28 minute wait for a bus going to Animal Kingdom. The vast majority of waits were 5-10 minutes.

In general, I've had great experiences with the Pop buses. The only time I've considered using Uber is when I leave a park right after fireworks end or at park closing. The lines are long then and the buses are crowded. (I've never actually gone through with it and used Uber though.)

The transport time on the bus is just as fast as a car will be because its not making multiple stops. The bus will be faster for MK because an Uber will drop you off at the TTC and you will have to get on the ferry or monorail. Disney bus transportation will drop you off directly at the MK. The wait times aren't bad if you want to be at the parks for RD. I like to get to the parks early too. For MK, I arrive at the bus stop by 8am for a 9am opening. For all other parks I arrive at the bus stop by 7:45 for 9am opening. We've always arrived at the park with plenty of time to spare.

You can see the estimated arrival time for the next bus on the monitors at the bus stop and also in the Disney app when you are on property. We found the estimates to be very accurate.

I encourage you to consider giving the buses a try, especially in the morning. If you leave the parks at night during a really busy time, then Uber might be a good idea so you aren't stuck in a long line.

Just changed my birthday trip stay (again) from CBR to POP! Super excited!

In my experience, it seems that AK could be problematic at times. One day I had to wait more than 40 minutes, other a little more than 30.

Maybe I'll try the bus to MK and just do an Uber to AK. I have heard that AK can be the longest. I really, really, really hope the Skyliner is open when I get there! I'm excited to try it for Epcot and HS.

In all my time staying at Pop I've never once had problems with the buses. Particularly if you're aiming for rope drop, it's a pretty smooth process... buses come to Pop constantly in the mornings to get folks to the parks so it's not at all difficult to be there first thing.

Thank you!! I hope since we are going early, it won't be an issue. I am guessing most people will be eating breakfast when I'm ready to board the bus.

And Pop buses have the very best music track! I love watching the kids faces as all the parents start singing things like the Lavern and Shirley theme song or other catchy tunes while we ride along! :D

My teenager that's going with me listens to music from every genre like me. So that could be fun!

MUCH FUN!:)

One of my fav WDW memories is one night riding the POP bus back "home" from Magic Kingdom after a PM EMH with a group of 15s and other Guests and everybody joining in spontaneously and singing along to Bohemian Rhapsody!:)

GREAT TIMES!

POP has the best Soundtracks(Bus and Resort) on Property!:)

That would be a REALLY long trek I believe. The bus ride to MK is between 13 and 17 minutes alone! From there (and someone please correct me if I'm wrong) you would need to either take a monorail or bus to the TTC and then an Uber to AK from there. Or, walk from the MK bus stop to the Contemporary and take an Uber from there.

If you're really sure you don't want to take a bus to AK (which we've done numerous times with no problems) why would you not just Uber from Pop?

Guessing I must be missing something.

I read OP to mean they would use the bus for their MK days and use Uber to go directly from Pop to AK on those days.
