Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Hello, Just booked for next year, Have a few questions.
Do the rooms have ceiling fans, and bathroom fans?

Also can we push the one bed against the wall? Our 4 year old who I will be sharing a bed with still sleeps with bed rails as she moves around alot.

Or should I just rent some bed rails?

Thanks!!!

You can't move the beds, so look into renting bed rails if you can.

Pop will give you bed rails to use during your stay so no need to rent! The bed cannot be pushed against the wall as the bedside table is permanently affixed to the wall.

Is the dresser also affixed to the wall? Just wondering if it can be scooted over a bit to make room for an air mattress. I've seen people put an air mattress in front of the door but I don't want to block the exit.

Are we able to use the food court microwave to heat up breakfast sandwiches and sit in the food court to eat? I didn't know if we needed to buy something to sit there.

Sorry, that one I'm not positive about as I did not attempt to move ours. From this picture it does not appear to be fixed to the wall but I'm not positive about that.IMG_0688.jpg

Hi! I've read here that there are Preferred and "non-preferred" rooms.
I understand that the main difference between them is the location.
I have a reservation for a "non-preferred" room on December and I'm looking for a quiet room. Considering I'm not preferred, where should I ask my room to be?
I've read that the 70's building is kind of quiet but I don't know if it's a preferred building.
Thanks in advance!

We had a standard room in building 10 (70s). We were on the top floor near the bus stop. We never heard anyone else near our room and it was a nice quick walk to the buses.

Great! I'll ask for that. A room in building 10, high floor. Hopefully I'll get it. Thanks!

We have stayed at Pop more than 20 times and always in standard rooms. I can honestly say I've never had a room that is noisy. Occasionally you may hear people chatting as they walk by your room but that can happen in any room.

I will say that the rooms that I think would be noisiest are the rooms people pay the most for as they are the rooms that face the pools. :upsidedow

No ceiling fans. There is an exhaust fan in the toilet/shower room of the bathroom but there is no switch. It's sensor activated and they seem to have a mind of their own. Some people have said it never shut off, others have had issues with it not turning on, and others either have no problems or just don't notice one way or the other. I'm in the 3rd group. I've just never bothered to pay much attention to it since I always shower with the sliding door cracked anyway.

Everyone is free to use the microwaves, toasters and seating :)

Guys! I'm so excited! After 5 1/2 years we are finally coming back to Disney World in February! It's been way too long! POP is our favorite resort. It just feels like "home". Can't wait to see the refurbed rooms. I'm a little bummed about the toiletries situation, as I am a toiletry hoarder, but I do understand the reasons behind it. Besides, there's still hand soap bars, right? :teeth:
I am nervous about how much the crowds have increased since we were there last as well as learning the whole new to us fast pass plus/MDE things, but I have almost 6 months to prepare.
I just wanted to share in my excitement. I've been reading this board trying to catch-up on all the info I've missed in these 5 years.

6 months is around the time to start making Advance Dining Reservations! I hope you've got them picked out!!

Since the renovations took over our usual request of the 50s, lately we have been requesting a lake view room in the 70s (building 6). It is so peaceful being able to just see the lake and it was always super quiet since it is the backside of the building. Added plus was you can see the Star Wars fireworks across the lake - we would stand on the railing outside the room and watch when we would go back for an early night.

We have done that before too. That is the quietest part of the resort IMO.

I'm very curious about that. Hopefully someone who is there now (or soon) can check on that. It would be awesome if it can be moved! My concern is that even if it's not attached to the wall and can be moved, it might not be able to be moved very far because there has to be wiring for the built-in outlets on the top of it that must be attached to the wall in some way so I'm guessing there's not much slack in those cords. Now if the connection isn't hardwired, you might be able to just unplug the dresser and slide it one way or the other (but then those outlets wouldn't work). I'm really anxious to find out if it's possible to move that thing as that would be very helpful to people if it can be moved.

Is 70's section (bldg 6 & 10) the best to request if you have a standard room booked and want to be as close to both the main building and transportation as that category allows, or is 60's section (bldg 4 & 5) a better request?
