Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

Arrived at Pop today, it's been magical. We got the one of the exact rooms I asked for on my fax, so woohoo! Great location, we love it. They texted me our room number before we got here. CM Jasmine at the front desk was magical giving us out celebration pins and our shipped package. Loved her. Went to Disney Springs. We're wore out, been going since 1am, so we're calling it a night early.
Still Handless mugs, all but one bus board working. Having a lot of fun. I will check on the whole milk hopefully at breakfast in the morning if I can remember.

I arrived yesterday. Room perfectly functional and more than adequate for me.
Arrived by car around 8pm - the was a line at check in and it was very noisy but the staff were efficient if a little disinterested.
I wasn't given all my check in paperwork (magical extras envelope, luggage tag). I got 1 of my 2 room requests - lake view (I can see the fireworks from my.room) but not high floor.
I asked about the parcels I'd had delivered and was given a really vague answer. She wouldn't check if they were there just said they ' should' be delivered to my room if they are there. I'm back from AK and they're not.
I did get a happy birthday telephone message from Mickey though and the place is lovely at night ' can't wait to take my camera out properly

Those of you that are there now.....do you notice a tropical scent in the lobby?

We visited Pop twice during our summer trip and it smelled great! There was never a lobby scent on our previous trips.

To a pp = the only scent I have ever detected is the Chocolate Chip scent. It's like heaven. If I could park my butt in the lobby and breathe in that scent and hear that background noise all the time...I would be a happy camper!

Hmmm, that's not the scent I smelled, but chocolate chip works too.

So excited to be heading to POP! in November. Have stated there once before and we really loved it. Stayed Moderate and Deluxe and really still like this resort!!! Are the mugs still handle-less?? I thought there had been a huge outcry and so they decided not to do that. I could have just been mistaken.

Yes, the mugs are still handle-less, we will be at POP in just 5 days !!!!!

What kind of packages? If they are park purchases, you have to pick them up in the gift shop. If they are packages you had mailed to you, you probably have to pick them up at the Bell Services desk.

Sometimes you're asked to pick up a package at the front desk and other times they deliver them to your room. When we were there 2 weeks ago we had both happen.

Hi POP experts!

I'm staying for my first time at Pop Century for 4 nights in November. This is my first time staying at a value resort. I am a fairly light sleeper and I've heard a few reports that the beds at the value resorts are "scratchy" and that there can be a lot of noise.

I am planning to bring a white-noise maker with me to help drown out sound, as well as a pillow from my own bed. Will that squash the problems do you think?

I've read on these boards that you can fax ahead of time with room requests -- as a solo adult, what kind of requests could/should I be making? King bed? (Do they have those?) What floor? What building? (I don't plan to swim on this particular trip.) I booked a standard room, as I am trying to do this solo trip for a little less $$.

Any advice for a comfortable solo stay would be very helpful! Thanks!

Even if it does, they will need to use up their current stock of non-handled mugs and get the handled ones made before putting them back in the stock rotation.
