Disney's POP CENTURY RESORT Information & Questions

I would rd I mend calling Pop 3-5 days before you arrive and requesting it. There is no guarantee that they can meet your request but they will try.

The Pop rooms normally are included but which ones tends to be based on availability st the time the offer is made available. I would guess for Feb you're looking Sept/Oct for those deals to start.

Discounts for value rooms is normally 15%.

Thanks! I know when I've gone in February before, the discounts usually came out in early October. I think Mousesavers showed an end-of-September date last year. My fingers are crossed that most people book up the Standard (cheapest) rooms first and they have to "encourage" people to fill up the Preferred. ;)

Of course, I'm dreaming that when, for the first summer in five years, I don't book something as soon as the prices are out, Disney will panic and offer me a pin/discount to come back. (Yeah, right...) :rotfl2:

So excited to be going to Pop again...even if it is 2017.

We will book standard rooms and our group will have 7 rooms. I want the 60's building. Do you think we have a good chance of getting the request if we also ask for the rooms to be kept together?

I would like to say yes but it's hard to tell. Last September we traveled with my brother and SIL. From the time we booked (1year earlier as Bounceback) we requested rooms together. Our reservations were linked and a few days before we arrived I called to ensure our room had hypoallergenic sheets and confirmed at that time that we wanted rooms together.

We arrived and they had my bro and SIL in the 80's section and us in the 60's. We were so disappointed!! After about 30 mins at the desk they were eventually able to move them to the same floor as us from the second day of our trip forward. But was a disappointing way to start our vacation for sure.

If you are trying to line up a large number of rooms one suggestion I have is to try and arrive as early in the day as you can. One of the challenges the CM had trying to put us together was that it was 9pm and the resort was at capacity.

One funny thing that did happen after this disappointment was that other friends who were at Disney the same time we were were in the room adjoining our's even though there was no way Disney knew we were friends!!

Just a quick question... We have 1 night booked through Orbitz and then 8 nights booked through Disney. We would like to stay in the same room if at all possible. What is the best way to request this at Pop? I see there is no space to put comments for online check in. Anyone done this before?

Yes. Go to the front desk to check in for the Orbitz reservation. While you are checking in, tell them you have a continuing reservation, and give them the reservation information for the second stay booked through Disney. Ask that you be placed in a room that will be available for your entire stay. So long as you have booked the same room category, you have a really good chance that you won't have to move. I haven't done it specifically at Pop, but I didn't have to move at any of the Disney resorts where I've had continuing reservations booked. They should let you know whether you need to come back to the front desk to sign paperwork or have your magicband recoded to open the door for the second reservation.

It took me calling every single day and sometimes twice a day, but I finally got my AP rate at Pop for September!!! I did not want to stay at All Stars (no offence to them just love Pop and being able to walk to AoA). CM had to go through guest services because it was showing available on my screen but not available on their's. Guest Services even called me back to change it to standard. I love the guest service you get at Disney :)

Back this morning. We were in 0423. Nice location, cast members were great, areas were clean.

Wanted to mention that I didn't see anyone else in our "wing", and I heard drills and such two days.
This is the exact room number we stayed at in February. I loved the location from the elevator. I have requested it again.

Very cool!! Well, you left the room in good shape ;) It was a great location - the elevator was so close, and getting to the busses was quick!

What year is room 0423 in?

70's...the one towards the front of the resort.

I have skimmed through and tried searching but didn't see an answer specifically for POP. Are we allowed to decorate the door and/or the window like we did on DCL or is this frowned upon? If so, will magnets stick to the doors? Are there any other guidelines? (Obviously, I wouldn't use any adhesives that would damage the door.) Thanks! My DD19 wants to decorate if it's allowed.

We decorated our window (in April) but not our door.

Hi all!:earboy2:
It's getting closer now to our POP stay wanted to ask here...

What is the best room/area to request to be close to food/transportation? any room numbers or levels to stay on would be great.

Thanks!!

I have decorated the door and windows at Pop. Magnets will stick to the door and I have used command strips. Tape is not allowed. Hope this helps. Happy decorating!

I would like to know this also. Also, if anyone has any suggestions for a preferred king room can you let me know? It's just my husband and I this trip. We would like a king bed. Thanks

Last October, we were in room 3367, a preferred location king bed room, with tub, in the 50's section.

I wish we could get it again this year, but since DS is 3, we can't get a king room anymore. At first I was disappointed, I wanted a room in the 70's. But after realizing we preferred the quiet bowling pin pool vs the main one, I'm actually going to request a room in the 50's again for this October!

This will be our 1st time at Pop. For those of you who are used to traveling during busy times and getting Double Bed Preferred rooms, do you think the odds are favorable in getting our 50's close to elevator room requests? (Seems best of all worlds-still close, but calmer than 60's, & looks close to a parking lot bc we're driving). We'll be there for a short trip 8/2-8/6. For any who have been put in a Preferred room in the 70's, (in case we don't get our room requests), did you still find the location close enough to the main hall/transportation/parking lot (to unload/load if you drive) to be time saving and convenient? Since trip is so short & a surprise for DD's bday, we'll literally hit the ground running; busy the whole time. Including a nightime park after check in, and a park after check out. Any misc time saving advice (especially if you drive in regards to unloading/loading) would be greatly appreciated.:thanks:

I cannot answer about preferred in the 70's area, but we have been in the 70's section facing the middle (foosball players) and we found the 70's area very convienent to the food court and transportation. It's a great area. So the preferred is even closer than where we were, so I think you would like it.

Pop has fries, and your main dish and your side dish can come from two different bays. I got a monster slice of pizza from the pizza bay and garlic mashed potatoes from the bay next door. Lol

Helpful! Good to know!!
